John Stamos on gathering celeb sex stories -- for a new web series

Admit it: If you had to tell one member of Full House‘s cast the story of how you lost your virginity, you’d obviously choose Uncle Jesse. (Or maybe Aunt Becky — you know she wouldn’t judge.)

That’s the basic idea behind Losing It With John Stamos, a new series of shorts that debuted earlier this week on Yahoo Screen. The premise is simple: Stamos sits down with a celebrity, who regales him with a story about turning in his or her v-card. Occasionally, bits are re-enacted by cute cartoon characters or puppets. (That’s got to be the stamp of documentarian Morgan Spurlock, who serves with Stamos as co-EP.)

Where did Stamos get the idea for Losing It? More importantly, how does he convince his famous pals to participate? The ex-Full Houser spills all in our interview — and also reveals whether Joey Gladstone is next in line.

It’s been a long thirty days, but Yahoo has finally revealed its new logo.

Along with acquiring companies left and right–as part of massive re-branding campaign, injecting a new, hip and fresh visual under the influence CEO Marissa Mayer, the tech brand unveiled their new logo at midnight on Thursday.  The revamped trademark symbol, with its familiar font color and exclamation point is the result of a 30-day campaign in which the company rolled out a new, rejected logo each day until it revealed off the above redesign. Yahoo buys Tumblr: Should users of the meme machine be worried?

tumblr.gif

Citizens of the Internet, we’ve reached a milestone: This may be the first major web acquisition announced via GIF.

Today, Yahoo and Tumblr officially revealed that the former is buying the latter for a cool $1.1 billion. (Guess all those Game of Thrones memes are worth more than just a chuckle.) As the biggest acquisition Yahoo has made since ex-Googler Marissa Mayer became its CEO last summer, this has the potential to massively change both companies forever. Since the announcement, though, both Mayer and Tumblr founder David Karp have largely refrained from trumpeting what the future may hold. Instead, they’ve spent most of the day asking Tumblr users not to panic — and reassuring them that the site will retain its idiosyncratic identity.

Check out the trailer for season 2 of Ken Marino's 'Bachelor' parody 'Burning Love' -- EXCLUSIVE

Last season on Yahoo’s Burning Love, Julie Gristlewhite (June Diane Raphael) had her heart broken by hose-happy fireman Mark Orlando (Ken Marino). But this season, the tables have turned — and now Julie’s the one who gets to select a mate from a wide pool of eligible bachelors played by the likes of Adam Scott, Jerry O’Connell, Michael Cera, Adam Brody, Colin Hanks, Joe Lo Truglio, Ryan Hansen, Rob Huebel, Paul Scheer, Nick Kroll, Nick Thune, Martin Starr, and Kumail Nanjiani.

Appropriately enough, the series — created by Childrens Hospital writer and directed by comedy vet Marino — won’t return to Yahoo! Screen until Feb. 14. But in the meantime, here’s a taste of what you can expect from Burning Love‘s Bachelorette season — which will feature some very dramatic puppet-making, plenty of makeouts, and several all-important “box ceremonies.” (Get your head out of the gutter — that’s how Julie chooses who will make it to the show’s next round.)

Tom Hanks' dystopian web series debuts on Yahoo

Creating content exclusively for the web is a growing area for mega TV and film personalities — just this week Larry King launched an online news network and Jerry Seinfeld‘s web series is also coming soon — but the latest to join in the interactive content game is Tom Hanks, whose new animated web series, Electric City, premiered on Yahoo! Screen Tuesday.

The series is set in a seemingly peaceful but troubled city, a settlement that has sprung up in the aftermath of a series of ecological and human-caused disasters. Hanks, who also wrote the series, voices Cleveland Carr, a mysterious man of mixed morals, in the dystopian city where there are two ways to access news and information: newspapers and radio, both easily controlled by the powers that be.

“The theme that drives the plot of every episode is ‘Who’s gonna control the information?’” Hanks explained to a group of reporters via conference call. “And are those people gonna be benevolent and tell the truth, or are they going to be proactively lying in order to promote their own agenda? That’s Electric City in a nutshell.” READ FULL STORY
