To kick off our Twelve Days of Christmas Classics, we start with a song that wasn’t even a Christmas tune to begin with, but it’s come to fit snugly with the holiday’s wintry weather: “Baby, It’s Cold Outside.” The catchy duet, with its suggestive-verging-on-coercive lyrics, was written in 1944 by musical-theater vet Frank Loesser (Guys and Dolls), who originally sang it with his wife at a housewarming party. He ended up selling it to MGM in 1948 for the movie Neptune’s Daughter, for which it earned an Oscar.

Drink tequila with George Clooney -- and 22 other celebrities in the business of booze

Have you ever wanted to share a bottle of tequila with George Clooney until he got so drunk that he mistakenly thought you were Stacy Keibler? OK, so we can’t really help you out with the second half of that scenario, but the first half is suddenly much more plausible thanks to Clooney’s latest business venture.

The sexier-with-age movie star is teaming up Rande Gerber to create Casamigos, a new brand of tequila. According to Vanity Fair, Gerber and Clooney will sign every bottle that is made, number it and even taste it themselves (aka you’re sharing a drink with George Clooney … get it?). But as delicious and tempting as it all sounds, we always imagined that Clooney was more of a scotch neat kind of guy.

But Clooney isn’t the first celebrity to surprise us with his taste in alcohol, and we’re sure he won’t be the last. Here’s a rundown of some celebrities who have given the business of booze a try. Who matches up best with his or her drink of choice?

What are the hottest parties at the RNC?

The Democrats may have a more party-hardy reputation than the Republicans, but that doesn’t mean the right isn’t planning to get down with some celebs this week. Speaking from experience (I covered both conventions in 2008), I’d like to note that regardless of the celebrity special guest performing — be it Will.i.am or Willie Nelson — convention parties are pretty boring compared to Oscar parties or SXSW parties, or even say, your niece’s third birthday party. Most of the attendees at the DNC and RNC alike are delegates in uncomfortable suits, dancing uncomfortably to some band they’ve never heard of.

But I’m not that blasé — it can be exciting to catch John McCain shaking it up to Big & Rich or Jon Voight getting down with Kid Rock. So if you’re at all curious about what’s going down when the sun goes down in Tampa, here’s a list of the musical and entertainment acts scheduled to appear during the RNC. If you’re planning a trip to Tampa, however, don’t expect to get in – most of these events are for donors and range from hundreds to thousands for a ticket.
