Kids, let me tell you about the time Bane was at your parents' wedding

Once upon a time in Pittsburgh, a man and a woman fell in love. People were still falling in love then—much like they do now—but in 2011, things were different. This was before Justin Bieber started shaving, and when ice buckets were used for holding ice, not dumping it. Things were purer then.

But there was another story unfolding in Pittsburgh that day. The story of a man who would hold an entire city hostage, if another man in a Kevlar batsuit did not rise to stop him. As fate would have it, this story would intertwine with the love story of Rich Walsh and his bride Michelle, resulting in a pair of photos that the world cherishes to this very day. That’s just what happens when you have your wedding at a church near the set of The Dark Knight Rises. Tom Hardy photobombs your nuptials. He does that.

Carpe diem, young lovers of the world.

Bill Murray imparts wisdom and thrills at random bachelor party -- VIDEO

Sick of Kimye? This news is the perfect palate cleanser: Bill Murray, who has a charming way of popping up in the most ordinary of places, was the surprise toastmaster at a Memorial Day weekend bachelor party in Charleston, S.C. The actor has a home in the area and owns the Charleston Riverdogs minor league baseball team. When some Boston College alumni saw him dining at a local steakhouse, they invited him upstairs to celebrate the waning bachelorhood of their engaged pal, E.J.

Murray rebuffed them at first, according to Deadspin — but just as they were about to give up, the man, the myth, the legend waltzed in and imparted some wisdom about life and love. Since E.J., who’s scheduled to be married on June 14, is already committed, Murray directed his remarks towards the flabbergasted men in the room who are still looking for Ms. Right. “You know how funerals are not for the dead, they’re for the living?” he said. “Bachelor parties are not for the groom, they’re for the uncommitted.”

The room erupted with giddy delight, though one surmises Murray could’ve received a similar response for anything he uttered, even gibberish like “Gunga galunga. Gunga gunga da gunga.”

But Murray took his task seriously. “If you have someone that you think is The One … take that person and travel around the world,” he suggested. “Buy a plane ticket for the two of you to travel all around the world, and go to places that are hard to go to and hard to get out of. And if when you come back to JFK, when you land in JFK, and you’re still in love with that person, get married at the airport.”

Mitch and Cam finally got married on 'Modern Family' -- VIDEO

It finally happened: Cam and Mitch tied the knot on Wednesday night’s Modern Family season finale.

After many failed attempts to say “I do,” Jay told the pair they deserved the wedding they had always dreamed of — not a cramped living room ceremony. With that, everyone headed to the golf club for an outdoor ceremony, where Jay appeared to have a change of heart. When Mitch told his dad that he should take a seat before the ceremony started, Jay took Mitch’s arm and walked him down the aisle. Cue the happy tears.

Dearly beloved, we are gathered today to celebrate the recommitment of Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson to June “Mama” Shannon, his shack ‘em up mate of almost nine years.  The “groom” will now read his vows*, followed by the “bride.”

*vows are equal parts quotation and wishful thinking
