'Saturday Night Live' writer Leslie Jones responds to criticism of slavery standup -- VIDEO

If you joke about slavery on TV, you’re going to get some backlash.

Leslie Jones, a writer for Saturday Night Live, made her onscreen debut during May 3’s Weekend Update segment. Jones performed a short standup routine about being single. The twist: Jones declared that she never would have been unattached in the days of slavery. In the bit, she calls herself a “number-one slave draft pick” and talks about how she’d be so popular that she’d be popping out babies every nine months. Naturally, these jokes got a few people upset — including Ebony senior editor Jamilah Lemieux, who blasted Jones on Twitter, calling her an “embarrassment.”

'Star Wars: Episode VII': Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher send first tweets

The Force is strong on Twitter.

Luke and Leia — that’s Mark Hamill and Carrie Fisher when we’re not in a galaxy far, far away — took to Twitter to express their excitement over joining J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode VII. Maybe too much excitement on Fisher’s part, actually.

On Wednesday, the actress posted this tweet with a link to the official cast announcement:

Fans were aghast that their beloved Princess of Alderaan would screw up Star Wars lingo. She quickly corrected herself in the most Carrie Fisher way possible: READ FULL STORY

Mara Wilson has 'no interest' in 'Mrs. Doubtfire' sequel

The just-announced Mrs. Doubtfire sequel won’t feature a full cast reunion. Mara Wilson, who played Robin Williams and Sally Field’s young daughter Natalie Hillard, has announced she has no desire to return for a second movie.

“I’ve been in some mediocre movies, but I’ve never been in a sequel. And I have no interest in being in one now,” the actress and writer wrote on Twitter. “Sequels generally suck unless they were planned as part of a trilogy or series. I think Doubtfire ended where it needed to end.”

It was revealed Wednesday that Robin Williams will reunite with original director Chris Columbus for the sequel, which will be written by Elf writer David Berenbaum.

'Shameless' shocker: Even the cast didn't know about [spoiler]'s return!

Did you catch Sunday night’s shocking season finale of Shameless? If you did, you likely gasped at the bad-ass return of (SPOILER!) the previously-thought-dead Jimmy/Steve—and hey, you weren’t the only one to clutch your pearls.

Judging by the cast’s reactions on Twitter, not even the actors in the Gallagher clan were aware that Justin Chatwin’s perennially troubled rich kid would turn out alive, after the season three finale found him presumably dead in the water after he was escorted onto the yacht of a Brazilian mafioso who had every reason to murder him. In Sunday’s post-credits scene, it was revealed that Jimmy/Steve is alive and well and driving in Chicago with a strange woman (as one does). But what does he WANT!? READ FULL STORY

'How I Met Your Mother' finale: The most dramatic Twitter reactions

Spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen last night’s episode of How I Met Your Mother!

Last night we said goodbye to Ted, Lily, Marshall, Robin, and Barney after nine seasons — and also a more real goodbye to the mother, which tweeters were not pleased about. Some called the entire show a waste of time because of what happened in the finale (ouch); others threatened to punch a hole in the universe if Ted ended up with Robin (so, where’s that hole?).
