Samuel L. Jackson has been enjoying his time as Nick Fury in the Marvel universe, now appearing in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Jackson sat down with Entertainment Weekly editor Matt Bean for a SiriusXM Town Hall and told the crowd about the time he found out what his character’s role in the new Star Wars films would actually be before he even got a script. Jackson also commented on the pros and cons of Twitter, why and how it’s changing the way actors are hired for work in Hollywood, and the fun he has sharing pics from around the world. Spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen last night’s episode of How I Met Your Mother!
Last night we said goodbye to Ted, Lily, Marshall, Robin, and Barney after nine seasons — and also a more real goodbye to the mother, which tweeters were not pleased about. Some called the entire show a waste of time because of what happened in the finale (ouch); others threatened to punch a hole in the universe if Ted ended up with Robin (so, where’s that hole?). All in all, there was a ton of angry caps-lock used – but hey, we thought the finale was pretty okay.
Check out the most dramatic reactions from the Twitter world below:
Ellen Page won’t let anyone make her feel bad about herself.
Over the weekend, some unnamed pastor sent Page, who recently came out of the closet, a letter.
The actress responded publicly on Twitter, writing, “2 da Pastor who wrote me-Being gay isn’t a belief. My soul isnt struggling& I don’t want arms of Heavenly Father around me.A girls arms? Yes.”
Score one for Page. (Isn’t that the kind of comeback we’d expect from the woman who portrayed fast-talking Juno?)
Are three Clintons a fair swap for one Bradley Cooper?
Jimmy Kimmel seems to think so. He tweeted this selfie — featuring Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton — to his 3.76 million followers on Saturday night:
Earlier this week, the brother of Toronto mayor Rob Ford got his feelings hurt when the siblings didn’t get their picture taken with Kevin Spacey backstage at a taping of Jimmy Kimmel Live. On Saturday, Spacey attempted to remedy the situation via this awesome tweet:
So it turns out all of those rumors about Lindsay Lohan being a nightmare to work with on the set of 2 Broke Girls were just that — rumors.
Stars Kat Dennings and Beth Behrs took to Twitter on Friday to refute claims that guest star Lohan was a disaster and repeatedly screwed up her lines during a taping on Wednesday. The reports stemmed from an unimpressed witness who claimed: ”[We, the audience members] are very familiar with every single one of Lindsay Lohan’s lines and can repeat them all verbatim to you because we heard them so many times last night. There is not a member of the audience who couldn’t do a better job than Lindsay Lohan did last night.”
Let’s play “Guess where that tongue’s been!”
Wait – that’s not an actual game? Well someone should tell Miley Cyrus and Katy Perry, who seem to be getting into a little playful tiff over their recent kiss at Cyrus’ concert last month in Los Angeles. Apparently Perry wasn’t expecting the full deep-dive from Cyrus, though we all know that Katy Perry has kissed many girls and liked it. Cyrus took to her Twitter account to respond. In my opinion, the illustration below screams passion. Or a cry for help.
