Tilda Swinton says she's interested in returning to 'Narnia' in a Reddit AMA

More recently seen wearing buck teeth in Snowpiercer and sleeping in the Museum of Modern Art, Tilda Swinton revealed yesterday in a Reddit AMA that she’s still not over playing the White Witch in the Chronicles of Narnia series.

When asked if there was any chance she could reprise her role, the Scottish actress told users, “I have always hoped that there would be the chance to make The Magician’s Nephew… the prequel to The Lion the Witch, and the Wardrobe—such a fantastic story.”

Though Swinton’s interest is exciting news for fans of the adaptations of C.S. Lewis’s novels, her enthusiasm might not be enough to will a feature into existence. The production history of the Narnia films is nearly as dense as the mythology of the books.

There will be a 'Grand Budapest Hotel' cruise

Break out your twee swimsuit.

There will be a The Grand Budapest Cruise of sorts, with Grand Budapest Hotel director Wes Anderson on a week-long cruise that will include a screening of the film, as well as a Q&A with Anderson and cast members including Tilda Swinton and Jason Schwartzman, as well as frequent writing collaborator Roman Coppola.

The cruise will depart from Brooklyn (duh) to London, and really seems like a missed opportunity for a Life Aquatic tie-in. Of course, celebrity cruises are nothing new: There are regularly boy band cruises, Broadway performer cruises, and random celebrity cameo-fests. But — on the heels of news that the New Kids on the Block will have a show aboard a cruise ship — we have to ask the question: Would you rather be trapped on a ship with the New Kids or the Budapest crew? Tilda Swinton leads dance-along tribute to Roger Ebert

While it wasn’t officially a memorial event, the 15th Annual Ebertfest in Champaign, Ill., turned into a five-day-long celebration of the life of late, great film critic Roger Ebert. Perhaps most joyous of the many tributes, Oscar-winner Tilda Swinton stopped by to bring a 1,500-person auditorium to its feet for a dance-along to Barry White’s 1974 hit “You’re the First, the Last, My Everything.”

Introduced by Ebert’s widow, Chaz, and calling the dance a “spiritual service,” Swinton ran down into the audience and led a conga line through the aisles.

Check out the celebration below.

Tilda Swinton, Best Actress in a Box

Tilda Swinton, impossibly cool Oscar-winning actress, David Bowie video muse, fashion renegade, general Scottish bad-ass, will sleep in a box for seven-hour stretches as part of a MoMA performance piece this year.

The Gothamist reports that the Swinton-conceived piece “The Maybe,” which she brought to a London gallery in 1995 and later recreated it in a Rome museum, premiered yesterday at the New York museum.

“Museum staff doesn’t know she’s coming until the day of, but she’s here today,” a MoMA source was quoted. “She’ll be there the whole day. All that’s in the box is cushions and a water jug.”

The MoMA declared that Swinton will nap/perform “The Maybe” about a half-dozen more times, all of them unannounced and unpublicized, throughout 2013.

I’m surprised she chose to wear shoes. And are those eyeglasses at her side? Who needs a stretch? However silly and pretentious this all might sound at first blush, the sight of the curled-up, still woman, being peered at like a sleeping tiger, is rather startling and beautiful, isn’t it?
