What better way to get through the dreaded Vampire Diaries mid-season hiatus (which starts after tonight’s episode) than with a little fanfiction?
When we visited the Atlanta set of the series a couple of months ago, we asked the cast to read some colorful fan-written stories about their characters. Of course, we didn’t just serve up the usual Delena/Stelena fare (you can get your fill of that when the show returns next year). Instead, we scoured the Web for fanfics dedicated to the show’s most under-served (read: non-existent) pairings, like say Elena and Alaric (R.I.P) or Caroline and Rebekah (shippers, we know you’re out there!).
Watch the video below to see Nina Dobrev, Candice Accola, Zach Roerig and Michael Trevino read fanfiction (while trying very hard to keep a straight face).
Sex isn’t the only reason to get the men of Mystic Falls shirtless on The Vampire Diaries (though it’s obviously one of our favorites). Below is our tribute to the TVD writers’ ingenuity in 2012. We thank you. READ FULL STORY »

There were plenty of major developments on the season four premiere of The Vampire Diaries on Thursday night, but it’s the love triangle (or, for some, the lack of a love triangle) between Stefan (Paul Wesley), Elena (Nina Dobrev) and Damon (Ian Somerhalder) that seems to be inspiring the most fan fervor.
While some fans were happy to see newly-turned vamp Elena sticking it out with Stefan, others were disappointed about the lack of progress between her and Damon. Meanwhile, some suggested it was time to end the love triangle all together. That last option doesn’t seem like much of a possibility, especially since Somerhalder recently told EW that it will continue to evolve in season four. The question is, how can it move forward without, well, going backward?
Here’s my personal wish-list:
1. A new girl for Stefan
Relax Stelena fans, I’m not suggesting she become the love of Stefan’s life or anything. It’s just that we’ve seen Stefan romancing (and brooding over) Elena since the start of the series, isn’t it about time he played the field with someone new? (Or, maybe I should say someone familiar. After all, I’ve always loved his chemistry with Caroline). Added bonus: We’d get to see a jealous Elena.
2. A Damon and Elena partnership
I know the will-they-won’t-they tension can get redundant, but let’s face it, it’s also half the fun. So, instead of seeing Damon and Elena pursue a full-fledged relationship in season four (boring!), I’d like to see them team up to take down the latest threat to Mystic Falls. After all, these two have always been at their bantering best when they’re either working together or going on road-trips. (Need I remind you of their chemistry-laden adventure in season one?)
3. Elena goes solo
She’s been there and done that with Stefan and (sort of) Damon, so maybe it’s time for Elena to take a break from both brotherly suitors. Anyway, I hear Elijah is single.
Your turn! How would you like the love triangle to evolve this season?

Olympic gold medalist gymnast Gabby Douglas is in Atlanta today on the set of her favorite show, The Vampire Diaries, shooting a cameo and allowing Ian Somerhalder to take a bite of her hardware (pictured). The small guest role is in season 4′s seventh episode, airing Nov. 29, EW has confirmed. But Gabby won’t be playing herself. So, what’s your dream scenario?
She could just be a face in the crowd at the Grill or Mystic Falls High (they do occasionally go to class!). Maybe she could be in Elena’s gym class when Elena realizes she has to tone down her vampire athletic abilities. Nina Dobrev is a former rhythmic gymnast, so they could have some fun together. Or perhaps Elena will watch Gabby’s character walk by with that sweet smile, so full of life, and mourn the loss of her innocence.
It would be awesome if Klaus (or Damon, on a bender) drank from her, but that wouldn’t happen, right? What’s your pitch?
