When 'Toy Story' meets 'The Expendables 2' -- Video

You know what would have made The Expendables 2 better? More plastic! In the form of toys, that is. A video mashup of Toy Story and The Expendables 2 courtesy of the site IGN proves that classic action figures are just as badass as classic action heroes.

With Sylvester Stallone as (the voice of) Woody, Arnold Schwarzenegger as Buzz, Jason Statham as Hamm, and Bruce Willis as Mr. Potato Head, the The Expendables 2 trailer has been recast with Toy Story characters and scenes from the animated franchise. Let’s just say it’s beyond awesome.

What if your favorite summer movies were retro videogames?

MAGIC-MIKE_320x240.png

Recently, we found ourselves in the midst of a marathon playing session of Disney’s Aladdin — the Super Nintendo classic, which we were playing on an actual SNES because Keith is a hoarder. We got to thinking: What if the biggest movies of today got turned into videogames?

And we’re not talking about the typical brand of modern movie videogame, with horrible animation and bargain-bin gameplay and disinterested celebrity paycheck voiceovers. What if they became old-school, charmingly mistranslated, multiple-of-8-bit videogames? What if Avengers was an RPG from the 8-bit Nintendo era? What if The Expendables became a coin-op arcade fighting game? We put our heads together with EW Design Guru Jef Castro: Check out the results below. READ FULL STORY

Sylvester Stallone talks about son's death to Jay Leno: 'I think about his memory...I'll always treasure that'

Sylvester Stallone appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno last night to promote The Expendables 2, and while Stallone put on a brave face, it was clear he was still hurting over the death of his son, Sage, who passed away last month at age 36.

Leno dove right into the uncomfortable topic, asking Stallone if being on a press tour helped take his mind off the awful stuff that was going on in his personal life. “Yeah, when life hits you pretty hard you can go into a dark corner,” he said. “Or you can say, ‘Okay, fine, I’m going to find something to focus on,’ you have your children, your wife, you try and be supportive to other people too, because I know a lot of people go through [losing a child], and they don’t get the attention that I do. And I feel for them, because it’s one club that no one wants to be a member of, that’s for sure. But I think about his memory, he was a lovely boy and I’ll always treasure that.” Watch the clip below. READ FULL STORY

Arnold Schwarzenegger's 'Last Stand' poster: Write a better tagline!

the-last-stand

Arnold Schwarzenegger has spent the last couple years soft-relaunching his acting career, with a cameo in The Expendables and a slightly larger, more bullet-y cameo in this Friday’s Expendables 2. But come January, the beta-testing period will end with The Last Stand, which will mark Schwarzenegger’s first leading role since Terminator 3 almost a decade ago. In theory, The Last Stand sounds kind of colorful: Schwarzenegger plays the sheriff of a border town suddenly caught in the crossfire between big-city law enforcement and a renegade cartel gang trying to escape back to Mexico. (Even better: Last Stand is directed by South Korean director Jee-woon Kim, who made the gonzo spaghetti western homage The Good, The Bad, and The Weird.)

But the first poster for The Last Stand just hit the Internet…and it’s a bit drab. Check it out: READ FULL STORY
