'The Dark Knight Rises' midnight screening tickets are already on sale...and already sold out


The Dark Knight Rises doesn’t open for another six months, but tickets for July 19 IMAX midnight screenings of the film are already on sale in a few major markets. A quick Fandango check reveals that you can currently buy tickets for the sure-to-be-bleak sequel (bleakquel?) for a theater in Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York. Or sorry, strike that — the New York IMAX screening is already sold out. If the other cities hold true to form, L.A. will be sold out soon but will eventually claim that it sold out first, while San Francisco will invent a new method of selling out that involves social networking somehow. Thanks to this brilliantly edited mash-up by Brad Hansen for revealing to us the first great truth of 2012: It turns out that this summer’s upcoming The Dark Knight Rises is a rather believable allegory for 1994’s The Lion King.

'Dark Knight Rises' plot leak? Batman brought to his knees by [SPOILER]

Batman taken prisoner by Bane? That’s what happens in The Dark Knight Rises, according to a story in the Los Angeles Times, which sent a reporter to the movie’s set last summer to chat with Anne Hathaway. The scene reportedly takes place while Gotham is under siege (does that city ever get a break?), as Bane’s goons drag a hooded Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) in front of a crowd — only to be interrupted by a stiletto-ed Selina Kyle (a.k.a. Catwoman, played by Hathaway). That’s all the detail we get from the story, but it’s plenty to chew over: Will Bane (Tom Hardy) be another Joker-style terrorist, or will he have a more specific motive?
