'Supernatural' recap: Hide and Zeke

Does anyone give an inspirational speech better than Dean freaking Winchester? Because if Tuesday night’s episode of Supernatural is any indication, the eldest Winchester has been studying the Coach Taylor Guide to Heart-Stirring Rhetoric, and I like it. A lot.

But speaking more generally, “The Devil May Care” as a whole was a pretty solid hour that saw the return of stepford demon Abaddon, the introduction of a few new faces (only one of which lived to see the end of the hour), and more of angel Ezekiel in a very interesting way.

That’s your teaser. Let’s jump into the details: READ FULL STORY

'Supernatural' season premiere recap: 'There ain't no me if there ain't no you.'

Supernatural’s ninth season started like most Supernatural premieres: with complete chaos surrounding the Winchester brothers. Quick inventory: Sam was on the brink of death. Fallen angels were out for blood. And Dean was on Mission Save Sam At Any Cost.

As you may have guessed: Sam didn’t die. But…

The 10 movies, TV shows, and brands that ruled Comic-Con on social media

The buzziest project at the four-day geekfest known as Comic-Con must have been something with elaborate costumes, breathtaking special effects, and an epic battle between good and evil… right?

Interestingly, not so much.

EW has partnered with General Sentiment to develop aggregate scores that record not just what’s trending on social media, but also what users are actually saying about those topics. And according to our analysis, the most talked-about thing on social media at the Con wasn’t superhero, sci-fi, or fantasy-related — it was CBS’s How I Met Your Mother, a sitcom entering its ninth and final season this fall.

Those who feel that TV has taken over the Comic-Con crown from movies in recent years have reason to feel validated in this data as well: four of the top five topics trending this year were TV shows (X-Men being the lone movie in that short list).

Check the list below to see which other TV shows, movies, and brands made the top 10 list.

'Supernatural' recap: 'Maybe this isn't one we can win'

I’ve got to hand it to Crowley, he knows how to hit the Winchesters right where it hurts. More importantly, Crowley may have found the one thing that could possibly stop the boys from pursuing the all-important quest of closing the gates of hell.

So what’s this magic button? That was the subject of this week’s episode… READ FULL STORY

'Supernatural' recap: Finding Metatron

Dean better thank his lucky stars he’s still in one piece, because everyone around him is falling apart. At least, that was the case in this week’s Supernatural.

Let’s start with sweaty Sam, who continued to suffer the effects of the trials and seemed to get worse with every passing minute. When he wasn’t losing consciousness from a dangerously high fever or coughing up a lung, he also had another bizarre side-effect that had him recalling very early childhood memories with perfect clarity. (Dean reading to him as a kid and one family trip with a farting donkey.) I thought briefly that Sam’s memories were simply just the show giving us those sweet little background nuggets fans love so much, but later in the episode, we learned the stories were context for a revelation.
