Stewart, Kimmel, Fallon talk Solange/Jay Z elevator fight -- VIDEO

TMZ released video footage of Solange Knowles attacking brother-in-law Jay Z in an elevator as Beyonce stood by — and naturally, the media was on it.

The video came out Monday, and since then, cable talking heads have been tirelessly trying to figure out what caused the incident — because, apparently, there’s nothing better to talk about. Jon Stewart mocked all the coverage of the elevator affair on The Daily Show Wednesday night, showing clips from outlets like CNN and Fox News and poking fun at their baseless theories — including that Jay Z has been cheating on Beyoncé, and the mogul wanted to ditch his wife and her sis to go to Rihanna’s party after the Met Gala. “With all these incredibly well-sourced motives, I can’t believe Solange didn’t spend the entire Met Ball kicking Jay Z in the face,” Stewart said. “Why wait until the elevator?”

It was the elevator fight seen (but not heard) ’round the world.

When video surfaced of Solange Knowles seemingly attacking brother-in-law Jay Z in an elevator while leaving a Met Gala party last week at The Standard Hotel in New York, questions began circulating about what could have caused the explosive fight. Because there was no audio on the recording, it’s hard to figure out exactly what is going on in the 3-minute-plus video.

Well, good thing we have Wendy Williams! The talk show queen spent about four times as much time talking about the video than its actual length at the beginning of her show Tuesday and did her best Angela Lansbury impression by digging up some clues. She even brought out notes so she wouldn’t forget any important points she wanted to make. Williams’ conclusion? Jay Z deserved it. Here is more of what she had to say: READ FULL STORY

Whoopi Goldberg: Jay Z had the right to hit Solange Knowles back -- VIDEO

So it seems everyone has now seen that infamous post-Met Gala video of Solange Knowles allegedly giving brother-in-law Jay Z a beatdown in a hotel elevator while her sister/his wife Beyonce idly stands by. And everyone has an opinion on it.

The ladies of The View chose to share their theories on Tuesday, with Whoopi Goldberg causing a minor controversy of her own.

“I think Solange was quite ready for [Jay Z] to do whatever he was gonna do,” Goldberg said. “If anybody hits you, you have the right [to hit back]. I know that many people are raised in a very different way, but if a woman hits you, to me, you have the right to hit her back. If I slap a man, he has every right to slap me back. Every right.”

Remember: The only people who really know what went down in that elevator are Solange, Jay Z, Beyonce, and that security guard who prevented all hell from really breaking loose. Still, you can watch the View co-hosts’ full array of hypotheses about the incident here: READ FULL STORY

Beyonce Instagrams pictures of happier times with Solange

In the aftermath of that now-infamous Met Ball video – which appears to show Solange Knowles physically abusing her brother-in-law Jay-Z in an elevator — some news sources have speculated that the fight stemmed from Jay’s desire to attend Rihanna’s after-party alone. None of the figures involved in the altercation have released a statement one way or the other — but why talk when a picture is worth 1,000 words, right?

At least, that seems to be Beyoncé’s approach to the situation. One day after attending the Met Gala, Beyonce posted this prayer to Instagram:
