David and Jason Benham have no hard feelings toward HGTV after the network canceled their series, Flip It Forward, amid reports that the brothers are “anti-gay, anti-choice extremists.”
During an interview with Erin Burnett on her CNN show OutFront, the brothers said they actually feel bad for HGTV and believe the network was “bullied” and “pushed into” the decision to cancel their show, which was slated for an October premiere.
The pair were not given a specific reason for the cancellation, but the controversy started when David’s 2012 interview with conservative radio host Janet Mefferd came to light. “We have abortion on demand; we have no-fault divorce; we have pornography and perversion; we have a homosexuality and its agenda that is attacking the nation; we have adultery; we have all of the things…while the church sits silent and just builds big churches,” he said.
When asked if he stood by those words, David told Burnett: “Never have I ever spoken against homosexuals as individuals and gone against them. I speak about an agenda…that is seeking to silence the voices of men and women of faith. That’s what all this is about.” READ FULL STORY
