Let's all just stop talking about the nudity on 'Girls'

We are not capable of talking about nudity in pop culture. We’re terrible at it. Look at this Girls thing. A journalist asked a poorly-phrased question, which the Girls producers interpreted in the least accurate manner possible. Everybody was their worst self. Then the journalist tried to clarify his question in a post on TheWrap. It’s a well-written post in which everyone comes off terribly: The journalist, the producers, men, women. READ FULL STORY

Miley Cyrus says she's playing a character, doesn't understand why flashing is a big deal

If you’re someone still trying to figure out the mind of Miley Cyrus, a new New York Times interview may help. You weren’t supposed to take her VMA performance as a declaration of her lifestyle: “I went from people just thinking I was, like, a baby to people thinking I’m this, like, sex freak that really just pops molly and does lines all day. It’s like, ‘Has anyone ever heard of rock ’n’ roll?’ There’s a sex scene in pretty much every single movie, and they go, ‘Well, that’s a character.’ Well, that’s a character. I don’t really dress as a teddy bear and, like, twerk on Robin Thicke, you know?”

Other revelations: According to Cyrus, it’s not just former Disney stars who are forced to be PG rather than themselves. “I’ll get someone to, like, flash me, and they’ll be, like, ‘You have to delete it!’ I had to do that when I was 14 or 15, but even then I didn’t care. Like, if someone was videoing me ripping a bong, I didn’t care, so it’s just funny to me. I’m like: ‘Dude, you’re 30. Like, why can’t someone see a picture of your [breasts]?’” (Since when is marketability the only reason NOT to want your breasts exposed, Miley?) READ FULL STORY

If you weren’t immediately distracted by Alexander Skarsgard’s nakedness in the True Blood finale, you may have noticed that Eric was reading a book while lounging on a snow-covered mountaintop in Sweden. EW has confirmed that the book is Den allvarsamma leken by Hjalmar Söderberg. Translation: The Serious Game. 'True Blood' poll: Is it okay to admit you like Warlow?

Good storytelling means characters aren’t always what they first appear to be. But when the stakes are as high as they are on a supernatural show like True Blood, misjudgments can be deadly. Perhaps that’s why I can’t decide how I feel about Warlow, the big bad turned sensitive stud played by Pacific Rim‘s Rob Kazinsky. Or rather, why I feel guilty admitting I like him as much as I do. Let’s break it down. Spoiler alert, if you haven’t seen this week’s episode: READ FULL STORY

Read along: 'ESPN The Magazine' Body Issue edition!

Even if you’re not into sports, odds are you’d happily sit down with ESPN The Magazine‘s annual Body Issue. You might flip to the features, which include pieces on how a female athlete’s breasts can be an obstacle (p. 112) and why the 1,700-pound bucking bull Bushwacker “may just have the baddest body in all of sports” (p. 129). But you’re most likely headed straight to the nude photo spreads, which begin on page 51. (You’re welcome.) So you’re not “reading” alone, we’ll read along with you. READ FULL STORY

This week, military man Jonathan and surfer/”adventure model”/experienced tent dweller Alison are thrust upon the Maldive Islands — specifically, “the worst island on the planet,” where, due to high temps and deadly sea life, “no living species could survive more than a week.”

Lovely! Perfect locale for a reality show about nude Americans. I’m in.   READ FULL STORY

Jennifer Love Hewitt is all woman in 'Client List' music video: WATCH!

Jennifer Love Hewitt’s Lifetime series The Client List returns March 10, and once again, she’s promoting the show with a sexy music video. This time, the “BareNaked” singer belts out “I’m a Woman” clothed in fringed lingerie. The track was produced by Randy Jackson, the video directed by Matthew Rolston, and the moves, we assume, inspired by Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera (circa Burlesque), and Channing Tatum’s spinning dubstep Magic Mike routine combined with the wet Flashdance number. So, in short, very original!  READ FULL STORY
