'Teen Wolf': Colton Haynes to exit?

The rumor mill continues to churn upon reports that Teen Wolf actor Colton Haynes, who plays Jackson on the MTV drama, is exiting the show after contract negotiations fell apart.

For its part, the network denies all reports, telling EW, that there is “absolutely no truth that Colton is being pushed out or that he, or any cast member, is being replaced. We love Colton and look forward to his returning with the entire cast for season 3 of Teen Wolf.”

Adding fuel to the fire is Haynes himself, who tweeted a suspiciously-timed, out-of-context statement. READ FULL STORY

'The X Factor': Britney Spears sings 'Happy Birthday' to L.A. Reid while America holds its breath (to blow out the candles)

Some people say it with flowers, but true superstars — who are goaded into reality TV filler stunts by lick-lipping producers who can’t wait to tap into that icing — sing it with cake. Here’s Britney Spears wishing her X Factor colleague, seat-dancing specialist L.A. Reid, a happy birthday. AND SHE’S SINGING!

L.A. first utters a low-toned “Oh my God” (at the fact that Britney Spears is serving a cake, seemingly of her own volition), then transitions to a more intrigued, upward-lilting “Oh my God!” (at the fact that Britney is really giving it her all with the singing). Tom Daley's 2013 calendar: Wet, shirtless enough for you?

British diver Tom Daley, who earned the 10m platform bronze medal at the London Games in between NBC shots of him showering, drew our attention today with his 2013 calendar. Our review:

Cover shot (pictured): A. We like the tease. It leaves something to the imagination… like why is he having so much trouble with that shirt? Spoiler alert: He figures it out in January!

Inside photos: C. He’s wearing a shirt that actually covers those abs in May, June, and September. Flip, flip, flip. The three shots of him diving somehow feel out-of-place. And neither of the photos used from heat magazine’s “sexy Clark Kent style photo-shoot” were this one (we loved him in glasses).

Google introduces 'Bacon number' -- What's the largest degree of separation you can find?

Google wants to make playing “Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon” easier.

The search engine has launched a new tool known as the Bacon number. By typing in any actor’s name followed by the words “Bacon number,” Google will tell you the degree of separation between that actor and Mr. Bacon.

This tool stems from the party game, which tests movie buffs’ cinematic knowledge by challenging them to find the shortest way to connect any random actor to Bacon. With the new Google tool, you’ll never lose the game again! Well, that’s no fun. Who wants to play a game no one can lose?

That’s why we’ve decided to reverse the rules. Using the Bacon number tool, we challenge you to find the largest degree of separation between Kevin Bacon and a famous person of your choosing. Be warned: this is surprisingly hard. For example, you’d think Kim Kardashian would have a high Bacon number, but there’s actually only a two degree separation between the two. (Thanks, Denise Richards.) Here’s what we found: READ FULL STORY

The sun is shining, the grill is grilling… but all you want to do is sit around and watch the tube. We at EW feel your pain; it’s tough to celebrate a holiday that marks the beginning of the school year, the advent of autumn chill, and the last episode of Breaking Bad until 2013.

J.K. Rowling building her children the best tree houses ever

On Wednesday, Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling received permission to build the most amazing tree houses ever seen on the face of this planet (and probably any other). Seriously, just look at that picture there.

The tree houses, which are Hogwarts Castle-inspired, stand two stories tall and include a rope bridge, turrets and secret tunnels. And you thought your yellow slide was cool.

Instead of being overwhelmed by seething jealously, however (okay, maybe there was just a moment of weakness), we at PopWatch started brainstorming what Harry Potter creations we’d like to see in our own homes. READ FULL STORY

Republican National Convention: Tuesday's winners, and who'd play Ann Romney in a movie?

I can’t believe I watched it either! I’d like to thank the following five forces of nature for making my first prime time RNC viewing experience such a pleasure.

1. Mitt’s Body Man: This is the genius name of Mitt Romney’s personal aide’s Twitter account. The guy keeps posting pic after pic of Romney doing human-like activities like watching TV, and of the happy Happy Days couple settling down in their sexy hotel room. But I’m mostly excited by the name.

2. Erin Burnett: The third Deschanel sister is a complete delight, able to voice everything CNN viewers are feeling with just her face! I like how she’s constantly tweeting on her smartphone and can barely be bothered to look up. (Along with Wolf.) READ FULL STORY
