'New Moon' kiss: Steamy (and uncomfortable?)

Question: Do you ever get uncomfortable watching steamy kisses in the movie theater? It happens to me. I have an irrational fear of someone looking at my face instead of the screen, and my expression appearing too focused, like I’m watching the movie too hard. After viewing the teaser below of Bella’s and Edward’s birthday liplock in The Twilight Saga: New Moon, I know I will be squirming in my seat come Nov. 20. It’s Robert Pattinson’s tortured groaning…

Bonus question: Is there any scene from New Moon we haven’t seen a preview clip of?

OUR APOLOGIES: Summit Entertainment has pulled the clip from YouTube. Again. Ain’t copyright a nuisance?

Taylor Lautner makes us ponder a world without the Taylor Lautner Bicep Watch

taylor-lautner_lThe Internet is abuzz with reports that Taylor Lautner will be choosing films in the future that showcase his acting over his abs. “I worked hard to get in shape for this role,” the Twilight Saga: New Moon star is quoted as saying to Showbiz Spy. “My motivation was the movie and the fans, but I don’t want to become known as just a body. If I had to choose, I would never take my shirt off again in a movie, but I guess that’s not very realistic. I certainly won’t be asking to do it, though.”

I think that’s a solid plan: Don’t go begging to bare all, but be flexible if a good role — like that Gymkata remake I keep pitching him publicly — requires some skin. To prove that we’re not all about his body,* we offer the following poll that, fingers crossed!, Lautner’s agents can forward to directors to demonstrate that their client will have an audience even when clothed.

'New Moon': More new footage! Well, kinda new! New for TV, anyway!

Another day, another new clip from The Twilight Saga: New Moon. Except this new TV spot, forebodingly entitled “Save Her,” is made up almost entirely of footage we’ve already seen, save a few fleeting shots of tree leaping and slow-motion walking. Still, even brief new New Moon footage is better than no new New Moon footage, right? No, really, I’m asking: Do you wish Summit would stop putting out so much of the movie in advance, or are you happy to get your Twilight fix even if it comes to you in tiny, tantalizing drips?

Anyhoo, here’s the clip:

'New Moon' video: Showdown with the Volturi

The latest sneak peek from New Moon features the ultra-tense confrontation with the Volturi at the exact moment when they decide that Bella’s not worth keeping around anymore. Edward, it appears, gets the worst of this fight, but maybe that’s because he’s hampered by that red velvet dressing gown.

What do you think PopWatchers? Are the Volturi living up to your expectations?

Kristen Stewart's bottom lip = tasty.

We all have nervous ticks. I, for one, tend to play with my earrings when part of an awkward situation. (I do this a lot, considering most of my interactions are awkward.) But it looks like Twilight star Kristen Stewart has incorporated her tick — bottom lip-biting — into her bag of acting tricks. Just take a look at College Humor’s entertaining compilation of scenes featuring the young starlet’s lip-chomping:

This, naturally, brings up the question: Is Stewart’s lip gloss really that tasty, and if so, where can I get some? (And what flavor is it?! Any guesses?) And do any other actors boast aggravating on-screen ticks?

'Twilight'-inspired fashion hits Nordstrom

New-Moon-fashion-twilight_lJust when you thought you couldn’t get any more deeply immersed in the Twilight saga, now you can proudly show off your love for Edward, Bella, Jacob and the rest of the crew with Nordstrom’s New Moon-inspired line, now available for pre-order.

The line, which features mostly tees, jewelry and makeup, has something for every fan — from the Twi-hards to the Twi-not-so-hards.

If you’re down for mushroom ravioli prom parties, you might like the “Team Edward” or “Team Jacob” tees cut in a style similar to what Bella might wear. Belong to a Twilight-related Facebook group? You can subtly sport your love in a plaid tunic inspired by Alice Cullen or a motorcycle pendant necklace, a nod to Jacob’s motorcycle and the one he fixes up for Bella.

And for the shyest of the bunch, there’s vampire-tinged makeup, like a “Just Bitten” lip staining balm and a “Mortal Glow” blush crème.

The lines skews (obviously) young, but, overall, the cheese factor is much lower than I expected. That is, until I saw the oddest items in the mix: the life-size cardboard cut-outs of Edward and Jacob. Maybe some girls would love coming home to a flattened Robert Pattison or Taylor Lautner. But I think that’s just plain creepy!

Apart from fashion, the site includes extras like videos, quizzes, downloads and a chance to win tickets to the New Moon premiere.

And if you’re itching for more fang-tastic fashion (sorry, I had to), you can also now pre-order Bella’s BB Dakota jacket at Fred Flare. Some of you probably remember when the jacket sold out in a flash only to be hawked on eBay at sky-high prices. Now’s your chance!

What do you guys think of the Nordstrom collection? What do you think of a line inspired by, not actually from, the movie?

Ryan Seacrest concludes candlelight 'New Moon' break-up reading, almost burns book

Ryan Seacrest returned to the pages of New Moon this morning to finish reading Bella and Edward’s breakup scene on his radio show. Wait for the end, when he delivers the final line with such passion: “Love, life, meaning… [blows out candle] over.” It would have gone viral had the book actually caught fire. Fingers crossed for next time!

Taylor Lautner Bicep Watch: Beach photo shoot

taylor-lautner_lI interrupt your Friday to let Hollywood know that I was serious about Twilight‘s Taylor Lautner needing to star in a remake of Gymkata. This paparazzi shot from a Rolling Stone photo shoot the actor did yesterday in Malibu says, to me, that he’s open to it. (It’s trying to say more, but I’m not listening because he’s 17, and I am… not.)

That is all.

'Robsessed' documentary: More interested in Pattinson or his fans?

robsessed_lI think we can all agree that Robsessed is a great title for a documentary about the Robert Pattinson phenomena. But my enthusiasm waned when I saw the art for the DVD, which is expected to hit shelves next month in time for the release of The Twilight Saga: New Moon. It’s not the slightly shell-shocked image of Pattinson: That amuses me. It’s the tag line: “Inside the life of Robert Pattinson.” According to a rep for the release, the documentary features people Pattinson’s worked with talking about his life, as well as “industry commentators” and “a couple of diehard fans.” Not the ratio I was hoping for. At this point — i.e. post-GQ cover story read along — I’m much more interested in the fans who consider themselves “Robsessed” than Rob. I want to go inside their lives. How does a man who’s given them only a few hours of entertainment come to fill their lives 24/7? How, in the age of the Web, when there’s constant updates on Pattinson, do they handle a day when there’s (gulp) silence? How do they decide they’re going to travel to a different city to try to catch a glimpse of him on set?

Contrary to the number of blog posts I write, I am not Robsessed. But I can tell you that any time I see a link on Twitter to a fan’s story of meeting True Blood‘s Alexander Skarsgard in Shreveport, where he’s filming Straw Dogs, I click on it. Yes, I’m curious as to whether the shirt he’ll be wearing in the accompanying picture is sleeveless or sheer (either is acceptable), but I’m even more eager to know what lie the fan told to an employee or family member to hide the real reason for her trip; how she determined the best time and location for a possible sighting; why she chose a particular outfit or opening line; who she dragged along with her and what directives that person was given. It’s like watching a TV show with great sexual tension — all about the build up.

Are you with me?

Kristen Stewart on fame (and the 'deep, heady foreplay' in 'Twilight')

Watching Kristen Stewart be herself — whether it’s on an MTV awards show or in the behind-the-scenes video of her Interview magazine cover shoot — always makes me a little uncomfortable because that’s how she looks, uncomfortable. (Also, a little bit sleepy, at least in the clip below. I hope they captured the yawn in photographs. It’s nice to see something real amidst all the styling.) In print, however, Stewart’s honesty is captivating. Dennis Hopper recently interviewed the Twilight actress and, after he asked her to say hello to her biggest fan, his six-year-old daughter, Galen, listened as she articulated what life is like for her.

We’ve all heard actors talk about the price of fame, but you can keep the colorful metaphors and give me a simple statement like this one: “I’d like to take more walks.” After work, Stewart holes up in her hotel room. “I don’t leave my hotel room — literally, I don’t…. The only way for me not to have somebody know where I went the night before is if I didn’t go out at all. So that’s what I’m trading. It depends what mood I’m in. Some nights, I think, ‘You know what? I don’t care. I’m just going to do what I want to do.’ Then the next day I think, ‘Ugh. Now everyone thinks I’m going out to get the attention.’ But it’s like, no, I actually, for a second, thought that maybe I could be like a normal person.” (A normal person would also get a high school graduation. Not Stewart. “The other day I was doing a graduation scene on Eclipse, and I had just finished high school myself the week before, so I told the crew, ‘Hey, just so you know, I’m actually graduating right now, and I’m not going to have another ceremony,‘” she says. “So I took a mock picture with an extra. I literally asked the actor to come back and shake my hand and hand me the diploma while I was dressed in a cap and gown.”) READ FULL STORY
