Anne Hathaway addresses 'Les Mis' premiere wardrobe malfunction -- VIDEO

Matt Lauer doesn’t mess around. When he greeted Anne Hathaway on the Today show this morning, the host got right down to business: “Good to see you,” he said. “Seen a lot of you lately.”

Lauer, of course, was referring to Hathaway’s major wardrobe malfunction at Monday’s Les Mis premiere. While exiting her car in a tight Tom Ford gown, the Oscar nominee accidentally flashed a crowd of photographers — who quickly noticed that Hathaway wasn’t wearing underwear.

The actress was clearly reluctant to discuss the mishap with Lauer. But after some prodding, she launched into an articulate response that skillfully turned the question on its head: “Well, it was obviously an unfortunate incident,” she began. “It kind of made me sad on two accounts. One was that I was very sad that we live in an age when someone takes a picture of another person in a vulnerable moment and rather than delete it, and do the decent thing, sells it. And I’m sorry that we live in a culture that commodifies sexuality of unwilling participants, which takes us back to Les Mis, because that’s what my character is.”

Boom! Did Hathaway miss her calling? She’d make a great PR flack, or maybe a high-powered lawyer.

Cop whose random act of kindness went viral appears on 'Today' -- VIDEO

On the cold night of Nov. 14, Arizona native Jennifer Foster was walking through New York City’s Times Square when she saw something even more captivating than Broadway’s giant marquees or LED screens: a police officer giving a freshly-purchased pair of boots to a shoeless homeless man. She snapped a photo of their interaction and sent it to the NYPD, who posted the photo to their Facebook page on Tuesday — where it quickly went viral, drawing over 500,000 “likes” and countless retweets and Tumblr reblogs.

This morning, Foster and the heroic cop she immortalized — Officer Larry DePrimo — appeared on the Today show to discuss the photo and its aftermath. Foster explained that she took the photo because DePrimo’s actions reminded her of her own father, who was a police officer in Phoenix for 32 years. DePrimo accepted compliments from her and NBC’s Savannah Guthrie but remained humble, insisting that he just did what any other cop would have done.

The whole thing is pretty darn heartwarming, even if it does make you wish that Today had brought that still-unnamed homeless man to its studio as well. Check out the feel-good segment below:

Lindsay Lohan reveals secret to her comeback: 'Just keep me on set. It's safer that way' -- VIDEO

Breaking: Lindsay Lohan managed to plug Liz & Dick on Good Morning America without injuring a single pedestrian or setting anything on fire! I knew good things would start happening for our girl as soon as she became a redhead again.

After Lohan pulled out of a planned interview with Barbara Walters last week, it seemed like the beleaguered actress might not be ready for another press tour. But the star of Lifetime’s new Elizabeth Taylor biopic was calm and composed on GMA, if a little stiff. In a smoky voice that seemed huskier each time she opened her mouth, Lohan discussed her role — surprise: she relates to Taylor’s famously tumultuous life “in a lot of ways” — and her drama-filled past few years, albeit obliquely. “I think that everyone goes through things in life,” she told Amy Robach, “and I like to learn from my mistakes… Everything happens for a reason, good or bad.”

Blame it on the rain: Morning shows take on Hurricane Sandy

Lindsay Lohan may not understand why east coasters have their knickers in a twist over Frankenstorm Snowicane Rainmageddon Sandy — but today’s morning shows weren’t messing around when it came to Sandy coverage. Today, Good Morning America, and CBS This Morning each devoted themselves entirely to keeping an eye on the storm. Pity the nation’s soaked news correspondents.

GMA had a little fun with the news, branding today’s show as a special edition called “GMA Halloween Superstorm.” But the coverage itself — on the storm’s path, its progression, and how its advent will affect the presidential election — was pretty straightforward. Here’s video of weather anchor Sam Champion in New York and ABC News correspondent Matt Gutman in Nags Head, N.C., explaining the basics of Sandy. Check out that sea foam!

Taylor Swift talks songwriting, keeps mum about the Kennedys on 'Good Morning America' -- VIDEO

What’s blond and bright and Red all over? Taylor Swift, who appeared on Good Morning America just hours after her new album shot to number one on iTunes. Wearing an appropriately crimson dress, Swift was all smiles and sunniness — even when anchor George Stephanopoulos tried to sneak in a question about her tabloid-friendly relationship with Connor Kennedy. The songstress dodged the question with expert ease, saying that while she’s happy to sing about her love life, she prefers not to talk about it: “I really think that it sounds more poetic and romantic with music behind it.”

But Taylor was happy to chat about her songwriting process — “I just grab a guitar and make stuff up. Everybody’s got a different way of doing things” — the emotionally draining new tune “All Too Well,” and what makes her smile: “Mostly cats.” Oh, and in case you were looking for Tay-Tay’s TV recommendations, she’s really into CSI, Law & Order, Grey’s Anatomy, Girls, and The Mindy Project. Eclectic!

Check out the full interview below — and if you’re ever in Nashville, keep an eye out for Swift’s dad, Scott. According to Taylor, he likes to walk around giving her old guitar picks to random strangers. He sounds kind of like the Bill Murray of Tennessee.

Ben Affleck uses 'Argo' press tour to promote marriage equality -- VIDEO

Way to go, Ben Affleck — you just ruined Reindeer Games for One Million Moms. The actor stopped by Good Morning America today to discuss his upcoming thriller Argo — and before he left the studio, Affleck took a moment to celebrate GMA weather anchor Sam Champion’s recent engagement.

“Oh, I want to congratulate Sam on his upcoming nuptials,” Affleck said as Champion nodded graciously at him from offstage. “It’s to our shame that you can’t get married in every state in the union, but one day I hope you will be able to. It’s very exciting, though. I was very inspired. Moving love story,” the star continued. His stance on marriage should come as no surprise; Affleck has been vocal about his progressive views since 2000, when he urged voters to support Al Gore.

Check out Affleck’s pro-equality message — as well as a clip from Argo featuring several glorious ’70s hairdos — in the clip below.

'Today' crew gets down, 'Gangnam Style' -- VIDEO

Congratulations, Britney — you’re officially a trend-setter! Just three days after the X Factor‘s new judge learned how to groove  Gangnam Style, Korean sensation Psy stopped by Today to give the show’s anchors a dance lesson of their own. Soon, Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker, Natalie Morales, and even Meet the Press‘s dignified David Gregory were wearing shades and busting a move onstage — a sight that ought to make the world’s GIF creators awfully happy. Check it out, and don’t be afraid to dance along at home:

Kelly Ripa introduces new 'Live!' cohost Michael Strahan -- VIDEO

Earlier this morning, Kelly Ripa bid adieu to a revolving door of temporary co-hosts — and finally introduced gap-toothed ex-New York Giant Michael Strahan as her new permanent partner in crime. For anyone who’s been following Ripa’s host search, the announcement wasn’t a surprise. But even so, Kelly’s audience reacted to her news as though they’d just been gifted brand-new cars — or at least some Vaseline. See them scream in the video below.

Backstreet's back -- for real this time! -- with GMA appearance: VIDEO

I know what you’re thinking: “Didn’t the Backstreet Boys, like, just reunite? And do a concert tour with New Kids on the Block? EW’s Sandra Gonzalez wrote a great review of it last summer? That did happen, right?”

Yes, Cam Jansen, you’re partially correct; the Boys were back in town last year, “town” here being another word for “arenas around the country.” But the BSB that teamed up with NKOTB wasn’t complete: Kevin Richardson, the group’s oldest member, left the guys six years ago to pursue a solo goatee-growing career. This April, Kevin announced that he’d be rejoining his old posse — meaning that the concert BSB performed on Good Morning America a few hours ago was the band’s real reunion show.

And what a reunion it was!  READ FULL STORY

Ryan Lochte is 'kinda happy' Prince Harry didn't invite him to play strip pool: VIDEO

After making headlines in Sin City, Ryan Lochte is in New York City today for appearances on Today and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon. Matt Lauer grilled him this morning on his recent race with Prince Harry in a Las Vegas pool. “His people came over to my table and said, Hey, Prince Harry wants to meet you,'” Lochte says. “I was like, ‘Alright, yeah, let’s go meet him.’ So I went over there, met him. I was, like, fully clothed, so was he. He was like, ‘Hey, you want to do somethin’?’ I was like, ‘What?’ He was like, ‘You want to race me in the pool?’ I was like, ‘Alright, let’s go.’ I just took off my shirt, and we jumped in, and we just started racing.” READ FULL STORY
