For the first time since Marissa Cooper’s death in The O.C.‘s season 3 finale, Mischa Barton is sort of (perhaps not purposefully) acknowledging the show and (probably unintentionally) drawing in Coop-loving fans to her latest project, a film titled I Will Follow You Into the Dark.
Today, Barton tweeted out the teaser for the upcoming film, and O.C. fans can relate to my surprise when I clicked on the link, saw Barton’s face, and heard Imogen Heap singing “Hide and Seek,” a.k.a. the song now known for its role in the epic season 2 finale of The O.C. It played both during Caleb Nichol’s funeral and in the pivotal moment when Marissa saved Ryan’s life by shooting his brother, Trey. I mean, it became so famous for that moment that SNL did a skit about it. And now, 10 years after The O.C. premiered, it has shown up again … and I have so many feelings about it.
