RuPaul just announced one of the fine drag queens pictured here as America’s Next Drag Superstar, the winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race season 4. “The race for the crown,” RuPaul said at the top of the hour, “has never been this tight.” And, indeed it was! The run-up to the crowning has been long and drawn out, to say the least. Luckily for you all out there, EW has an exclusive interview with the crowned queen — which we’re keeping super spoiler-friendly here, in case you haven’t seen the episode — and you can read that below.

SPOILER ALERT: After nearly an hour of reunion interviews and delightfully draggy festivities — Willam revealed what she did that got her eliminated from the show earlier this season, Latrice Royale was awarded the Miss Congeniality award, and RuPaul interviewed the three finalists Phi Phi O’Hara, Sharon Needles, and Chad Michaels — Drag Race host RuPaul finally crowned America’s Next Drag Superstar. The “finally,” of course, comes because Ru was supposed to do it last week but didn’t and then even shot three separate endings to tonight’s reunion-finale to keep the secret under wraps.
The winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race, America’s Next Drag Superstar is…
'RuPaul's Drag Race' reunion: RuPaul previews tonight's spectacular crowning of America's Next Drag Superstar
Last week, EW was on the scene for the reunion taping of RuPaul’s Drag Race: Reunited, which will air this evening at 9 p.m. on Logo. (Of course, you’ll also be able to stream coverage of the show’s big coronation party in NYC — there will be interviews with all this season’s queens — on LogoTV.com, from 8 to 10:15 p.m. ET tonight, too.)
Based on what happened at last week’s taping, the episode that airs tonight should be a doozy of an hour that will delve into the drama around Willam’s surprising early exit from the season; award one queen the Miss Congeniality award (you might be able to guess who, but I’m not telling you…); and, of course, finally crown Chad Michaels, Sharon Needles, or Phi Phi O’Hara as America’s Next Drag Superstar.
No one knows who will take home the glory except for one person: host and show namesake RuPaul. Which is why we here at EW enlisted the drag legend for a quick chat last Friday afternoon to discuss all things about tonight’s Reunited special and season 4.
Read on for Ru’s thoughts on the controversial decision to tape three endings to tonight’s episode; why season 4 was stands out from the previous three; the appeal of fallen queen Latrice Royale; what’s going on with All Stars: RuPaul’s Drag Race; and much, much more.
While the lion’s share of awards shows air live — that’s part of the what’s-going-to-happen appeal! — Logo’s NewNowNext Awards are taped in advance, cut up a little bit, and then aired a few days later. So what you’ll see when the show comes on tonight at 10 p.m. — right after a new, and tragic (because of the heartbreaking elimination) episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race — went down last Thursday evening at Hollywood’s Avalon nightclub. EW was on the scene for the festivities and took a few notes to whet your appetite for tonight:
