'Orange Is the New Black' costume designer Jennifer Rogien on styling Litchfield Prison

Most of the time spent on screen in Orange Is the New Black is in uniform, in orange (or khaki) as the title suggests. Inmates look alike. Guards look alike. There’s little variety. Why, then, would the show need a costume designer?

It’s a question that Jennifer Rogien, costume designer of the Netflix hit, often faces. She sees merit in the query, telling Entertainment Weekly how seemingly ridiculous her position could be construed on a very simplistic level. But, within this community of orange, Rogien says, “There is a whole world of tiny details to worry about.” READ FULL STORY

Laura Prepon says she's not dating Tom Cruise

Everybody breathe. Despite a recent slew of tabloid rumors to the contrary, Donna Pinciotti and Jerry Maguire aren’t dating.

In an interview with The Daily Beast about the second season of Orange is the New Black, the reporter brought up the recent stories about Laura Prepon’s alleged paramour, Tom Cruise.

“Oh god… I knew this would come up! Dude, I have no idea,” Prepon shared in the story. “I really don’t know. I totally respect him and think he’s an amazing actor, but I’m not dating him. I don’t know what else to say. It’s crazy. It just goes to show: Don’t believe everything you read. I have no idea where it came from. I don’t know how we ended up ‘together.’ I’m flattered because I think he’s hot so I’m like, ‘Oh, that’s nice,’ and apparently he’s very gentlemanly with me. Apparently, we get along great and he knows that I have a favorite bottle of wine that I didn’t even know I had. So, apparently he’s on cloud nine…. [Laughs]” READ FULL STORY

'Orange Is the New Black' at PaleyFest: Five things we learned from the panel -- VIDEO

The Dolby Theatre stage was filled with a beautifully eclectic group of women when the cast of Netflix’s critically acclaimed series Orange Is the New Black sat down for their first PaleyFest panel. Well, it was almost all women. Joining creator Jenji Kohan and stars Taylor Schilling, Laura Prepon, and Natasha Lyonne, among others, were two of the men of the series: Jason Biggs and Michael Harney. However, the talk of the night mainly focused on the diversity of the show and the bond the cast mates have outside of their prison set. From the amount of giggling that went on throughout the night, it appears they know how to have a good time together sans screwdriver (more on that later!).

From a new inmate to explanations of some of the differences between the original book and series, the panel revealed some exciting things for OITNB fans eagerly anticipating the show’s return to the streaming site in June. Here are five things we learned: READ FULL STORY

Laura Prepon may be off 'Orange Is the New Black.' What does this mean for the show?

Repeat after me: It’s only a rumor. It’s only a rumor. It’s only a rumor.

That said, diehard fans of Netflix’s addictive Orange Is the New Black had reason to panic yesterday, when word broke that Laura Prepon may appear in only one episode of the dramedy’s next season.

As of now, neither Netflix nor Prepon’s publicist has confirmed Buzzfeed’s report — or responded to EW’s requests for comment. While this might mean the post isn’t accurate, it also might be as good as a statement affirming Prepon’s departure. After all, if the actress were sticking around OITNB, someone would be quick to shut the exit story down. (When Buzzfeed wrote last month that Prepon would not return as a series regular in season 2, Netflix said the site’s report was “not accurate.”)

So as much as I’d like to stick my fingers in my ears and loudly shout Taystee’s freestyle rap, it might be time to start dealing with this — and wondering what it might mean for OITNB as a whole. (Spoilers for season 1 follow, obviously.)
