Fake Bieber biopic trailer: It's hard out here for a Canadian

Justin Bieber’s unlikely rise to superstardom is a story for the ages. As legend has it, a scrappy young Biebs endured nearly twelve whole years on this planet before achieving international notoriety, all the while facing snide put-downs from record executives (“Brushing your hair forward like that ain’t gonna help us sell any records. Foreheads are where it’s at, Bieber!”) and his long-suffering mother’s gentle but firm reality checks. (“Did you ever hear of a young, white, cute, Christian male making it in America?” Well, have you?)

At least, that’s the story told in 8 Kilometers: The Gritty Life Story of Justin Bieber, a new faux trailer from UCB Comedy. Though the video misses a golden opportunity to showcase Glee Project contestant Dani Shay‘s swoopy bangs, it’s a great parody of the trailer for Justin Bieber: Never Say Never  — and, specifically, the way it portrays its subject’s struggle as something uniquely difficult. He worked his entire 18-year-long life for this, you guys! Check out the clip for yourself below.

Justin Bieber congratulates Missy Franklin on Twitter

Which would you rather have: a gold medal or the public support of Justin Bieber?

Missy Franklin doesn’t have to choose. The U.S. Olympic swimmer (and true Belieber) now has both after she claimed the gold in the 100m backstroke. Kristen Stewart, Justin Bieber, and Snooki read mean tweets about themselves -- VIDEO

Jimmy Kimmel Live! has become a factory for laugh-out-loud segments that have fun at guests’ expenses. Last night was no different. Celebrities including Kristen Stewart, Justin Bieber, and Snooki read nasty tweets about themselves out loud to the camera.

While some of the tweets targeted stars’ careers — James Van Der Beek’s show Don’t Trust the B—- in Apartment 23 and Katy Perry’s movie Katy Perry: Part of Me — the funniest ones were personal attacks. Larry King look repulsed as he read, ”Did you know that if you skinned Larry King & ironed out his leather, you could make enough coats to give 1 to every poor child in America?”

Most of the celebs took the insults in stride, but Danny McBride couldn’t quite suppress his anger.

Watch the video below (the segment starts halfway through the clip).

George Clooney voted celebrity best fit to be U.S. president

President George Clooney?

A poll this week found that 35 percent of men considered Clooney the celebrity best fit for the presidency. Rapper Jay-Z trailed behind with 20 percent of the vote (maybe he could run for VP?). Even more women — 46 percent –picked Clooney, but New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady was their runner-up with 27 percent.

The poll, from lifestyle sites AskMen.com and TrèsSugar.com, asked men and women about entertainment and politics to compile the ”great male” and ”great female survey,” respectively. When asked about real politicians, 79 percent of men thought President Barack Obama was the presidential nominee with the most wingman potential. Obama was also chosen by both men and women as the manliest politician. Really? Did anybody watch Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Slayer?

When asked ”which male public figure are you most tired of hearing about?” 67 percent of men said Justin Bieber. LeBron James and Kanye West tied for second place. With 62 percent of the vote, Kim Kardashian was the female public figure of choice in the same category. It’s only fitting that Kardashian has been linked to Bieber and West, and that James and West are (if you believe Google image search) besties. Women agreed that they’ve had enough of Bieber and Kardashian.

Men selected Emma Stone as the female celebrity they wanted their girlfriends to emulate (51 percent). The nine percent of men who weren’t tired of hearing about her voted for Kardashian.

In a close race, the band the Black Keys was named the ”next Michael Jackson” (33 percent). Keeping with the contradictory results, 23 percent picked Justin Bieber, who came in third after Usher.

Taylor Swift tops Forbes' 'Highest-Paid Celebs Under 30' list

Want to feel like an underachiever?

Forbes magazine has released its annual list of the richest entertainers under 30. And it’s no surprise that Taylor Swift wins something yet again, raking in over $57 million from May 2011 to May 2012. The 22-year-old had the Speak Now world tour during that time, which Forbes said brought in a cool $1 million a night.

Last year’s $90 million Monster winner Lady Gaga came in fourth this year, earning $52 million. Forbes attributes the drop to the fact that she didn’t tour during the time frame, and notes that she’s currently selling out shows in Eastern Europe and they expect a jump next year. (Although, $52 million is not exactly a failure.) READ FULL STORY

Justin Bieber graduates high school

Justin Bieber can now officially add high school graduate to his expanding list of accomplishments, which includes holding the No. 1 spot on both the Billboard and iTunes album charts.

The pop sensation, 18, was one of 192 students in St. Michael Catholic Secondary School’s 2012 graduating class in his hometown of Stratford, Ontario. While Bieber didn’t attend the ceremony on June 28, his name was listed in the graduation program. He missed the walk across the stage, but he did participate in a faux commencement ceremony that you may have caught on The Ellen DeGeneres Show back in May. Check out the video below.

“I just finished high school,” the singer told the Daily Telegraph in May. ”I passed my test — I’m free! It was hard doing school and work every day.”

Bieber was in the eighth grade when he moved to Atlanta to pursue a music career. He has taken the majority of his courses through e-learning.

Justin Bieber has no idea what the Sistine Chapel is -- VIDEO

Oof, baby.

Justin Bieber was on the Late Show With David Letterman last night, promoting his new album, Believe. The 64-year-old host was at his most curmudgeonly, especially once Bieber displayed his new arm tattoo. Kids today! They release their big summer album and think that gives them the right to deface their bodies! Letterman tried to talk him out of getting another one, but Bieber said he can’t promise that. Letterman persisted, asking the 18-year-old to at least promise not to make his arms look like the Sistine Chapel.

Bieber responded, “I’m not going for the Sixteenth Chapel look.” And Letterman’s day was made.

'All Around the World': 10 Justin Bieber-isms that seem annoying but are actually...cute?

Part 1 of Justin Bieber’s NBC special, All Around the World, flopped in the ratings. If you missed it Wednesday night, the main takeaways were some footage of him passing out in a backstage stairwell after running into a plate glass wall during a concert and Justin comparing his dramatic rise in popularity to Michael Jackson and the Beatles. Yikes!

Here’s what you missed in Thursday’s part 2, because you weren’t watching, because no one was.

Did all the teens just not know this was on? Were they like “What’s NBC — is that like YouTube?” Weird.

“Call Me Maybe” is the gift that keeps on giving. As if it wasn’t enough that the unofficial music video featured Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, and Ashley Tisdale, there are versions from Katy Perry, Harvard’s baseball team, Donald Trump, and even the leader of the free world.
