'Hunger Games' parody trailer: Gale is way hotter than Peeta -- WATCH

The team at ScreenJunkies ruthlessly takes The Hunger Games to task in an “honest” version of the film’s trailer.

Check out the video below, where nothing that reeks of the nonsensical is spared, be it the perhaps slightly exaggerated powers trees lend Katniss in her quest for survival or the state of a “future so advanced they can conjure fire and monster dogs, but not food for the poor.”

Ben Affleck, Lea Michele, Will.i.am, other celebs honored at Do Something Awards

Celebrities and fans gathered at Santa Monica Airport on Sunday to celebrate “the do-ers” – that is, people who get out there and do something good for others, which includes both celebs and not-quite-as-famous young adults alike. The event was the annual Do Something Awards, organized by DoSomething.org and set to air on VH1 this Tuesday.

The Do Something Awards recognize a handful of celebrities for their charitable and activist efforts, along with five young adults under age 25 for their community service. This year Katia Gomez, 24, took home the Do Something Award – along with a $100,000 grant – for creating Educate2Envision, which provides education for young citizens of Honduras.

Among the celebrity winners were Ben Affleck, Will.i.am, Kristen Bell and Joel McHale, for the awards that DoSomething.org invited fans to vote upon online. READ FULL STORY »

Over the weekend, we confirmed via PopWatch polls that moviegoers who’d read The Hunger Games before seeing the film were more likely to cry than those who hadn’t. Only 15 percent of readers didn’t tear up, while 35 percent of non-readers remained dry-eyed. Everybody’s buzzing about The Hunger Games, and how could they not be? The film’s release this weekend hit all sorts of box office milestones, spawned dozens of fantastic fan outfits, and got folks talking about everything and anything related to the smash book series. So what else is there to discuss?

There’s at least one topic that’s inspired some heated post-movie conversations: the characters.
