Video: Ted Mosby of 'HIMYM' responds to LeBron James' big move

LeBron James is returning to the Cleveland Cavaliers, and fictional Ohio native Ted Mosby has some feelings about it.

In a video released exclusively to EWHIMYM star Josh Radnor, who  hails from Columbus, Ohio, responds to the big news both as himself and as Ted Mosby, the character he played on HIMYM for nine years. READ FULL STORY

Adding bangs to women's hairstyles in time jumps: What's the point?

Parks and Rec may have teased a big shocker in the last few minutes of its season finale Thursday night, but the actual shocker played second fiddle to the real upset: Leslie Knope’s new bangs in the flash-forward.

On the episode of Parks and Recreation, we got a look at Future Leslie… with bangs. On How I Met Your Mother‘s season finale, we got at a look at Future Robin… with bangs. In Scandal‘s first season, flashbacks are signified by Olivia Pope going from bang-free to full-on fringed. On Friends, ’80s Rachel has — guess what? — bangs.

More and more, the fringe is used on TV to indicate a time change even though it’s basically useless, both expositorily and plot-wise. Time jumps are often accompanied by a title screen indicating as clearly as possible that the scene is either from the past or future: On the Parks and Rec season finale, a caption tells us we’re three years in the future as Leslie jaunts around the office with her new blonde bangs. All the men look the same — save for Ben’s gelled-back hair — but nope, not Leslie. How would we viewers figure out it was a time jump without the fringe?

'Raising Hope,' 'How I Met Your Mother' and the obligation of a 'Legendary!' finale

Our TV week is bookended by sitcom goodbyes. It began with the series finale of How I Met Your Mother; it concludes with the capper to Raising Hope, tapping out tonight with back-to-back episodes, including one cheekily entitled “How I Met Your Mullet.” Created by Greg Garcia, who also gave us My Name Is Earl, the four-season-running Raising Hope was a sweet-and-salty sitcom about the daffy-dumb Chance clan — Virginia, the responsible materfamilias (Martha Plimpton); Burt, the air-headed dad (Garret Dillahunt); Jimmy, the teen-son-turned-teen-father (Lucas Neff); and Maw-Maw, the cracked and coarse grandma (Cloris Leachman) — collectively raising the titular babe, and was always a big-hearted, absurd amusement. One of its best episodes was the season 4 premiere, which featured Jeffrey Tambor as Virginia’s deadbeat dad, a self-centered gay man who skipped town because of perceived bigotry that was actually all in his head. The series finale sees the return of Tambor, with a story that thematically brings the series full circle. READ FULL STORY

'How I Met Your Mother' finale cut a Robin Sparkles performance

One person missing from Monday’s How I Met Your Mother finale? Robin Sparkles.

Many fans were hoping for an encore performance from Robin’s Canadian pop star, but it wasn’t meant to be. But — as How I Met Your Mother prop guru David Baker showed on Twitter — a musical moment was shot: Wearing a jean jacket over her wedding dress, Robin channeled Ms. Sparkles and broke out her first hit, “Let’s Go to The Mall,” at her wedding reception, complete with The Mother on bass. (Pause for a moment and ponder the cuteness — and the inevitable heartbreak.) READ FULL STORY

Here's the perfect fan-created 'How I Met Your Mother' ending -- VIDEO

Well, this was inevitable.

After widespread disappointment with the ending of How I Met Your Mother Monday night, one fan took matters into his own hands and re-cut the actual finale footage into a very sweet, moving three-and-a-half minute video.

Ted and The Mother (Tracy) still get their meet-cute under the yellow umbrella, but this time around, there’s no last-minute twist, just perfect Ted voiceover telling his kids about his life and how happy he is to have met their mom. Fade to black.

Watch below, and decide if this is the ending you’ll be adopting in your mind: READ FULL STORY

'How I Met Your Mother' finale: The most dramatic Twitter reactions

Spoilers ahead if you haven’t seen last night’s episode of How I Met Your Mother!

Last night we said goodbye to Ted, Lily, Marshall, Robin, and Barney after nine seasons — and also a more real goodbye to the mother, which tweeters were not pleased about. Some called the entire show a waste of time because of what happened in the finale (ouch); others threatened to punch a hole in the universe if Ted ended up with Robin (so, where’s that hole?). All in all, there was a ton of angry caps-lock used — but hey, we thought the finale was pretty okay.
