Laura Prepon may be off 'Orange Is the New Black.' What does this mean for the show?

Repeat after me: It’s only a rumor. It’s only a rumor. It’s only a rumor.

That said, diehard fans of Netflix’s addictive Orange Is the New Black had reason to panic yesterday, when word broke that Laura Prepon may appear in only one episode of the dramedy’s next season.

As of now, neither Netflix nor Prepon’s publicist has confirmed Buzzfeed’s report — or responded to EW’s requests for comment. While this might mean the post isn’t accurate, it also might be as good as a statement affirming Prepon’s departure. After all, if the actress were sticking around OITNB, someone would be quick to shut the exit story down. (When Buzzfeed wrote last month that Prepon would not return as a series regular in season 2, Netflix said the site’s report was “not accurate.”)

So as much as I’d like to stick my fingers in my ears and loudly shout Taystee’s freestyle rap, it might be time to start dealing with this — and wondering what it might mean for OITNB as a whole. (Spoilers for season 1 follow, obviously.)

'The Conjuring' commercials are freaking me out!

The incessant TV spots for The Conjuring (out July 19, if you can stay alive ’til then, which is not likely) have infiltrated my brain so thoroughly that I never want to sleep, light candles, or hang laundry again. And two out of three of those are major pastimes of mine! This is VERY inconvenient. I used to be so full of hope.

The evil geniuses promoting the movie seem to only air these at night — all night, on every channel — with the express purpose of freaking us the f— out. In case you’ve managed to escape these commercials (which would mean you haven’t turned on your TV this month — congrats), allow me to answer your burning questions.

What’s in my bed? Mosquitoes, plus “a dark force — something inhuman — which has latched itself to your family.”

Will I sleep tonight? No. There’s a “lady in a dirty nightgown” that you, too, will see in your dreams. She will likely “conjure” you out of the bed at 3, 4, and 6 a.m. so it might be best to just not. READ FULL STORY

Paula Deen on 'Dancing With the Stars'? Ugh, no.

Rumor has it that as Paula Deen gets phased out by an unforgiving real-life America, she could have a place in alternate-universe America on Planet Mirrorballus. Dancing With the Stars has approached her before, and considering the show’s magnetism for controversial “stars” like Kate Gosselin and Bristol Palin, the Twinkie Pie pariah could be a perfect fit for the ballroom.

Would I want this polar opposite of a hidden gem to join the show? READ FULL STORY

'RuPaul's Drag Race' contestant Latrice Royale talks elimination, Sharon Needles, and what's next

Latrice Royale was shockingly eliminated from RuPaul’s Drag Race in last week’s new episode, which whittled the field down from four to three. (Sharon Needles, Phi Phi O’Hara, and Chad Michaels are still standing.) At the time of her departure, Ms. Royale was nowhere to be found for a patented EW exit interview, but we caught up with the beloved big queen for a few minutes today. Latrice is a pleasure: She gamely talked to EW about her elimination, that touching speech she made to RuPaul, the contestant she’s rooting for now (thankfully, it’s not Phi Phi!), whether a big girl will ever win the Race, and what her next move is. Read on for all the dish from Latrice Royale.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: How did it feel when you were eliminated? Sad?
LATRICE ROYALE: I had such an amazing experience, and I had grown and gotten so much more out of the competition than I expected, so it was really a rush of emotions overtaking me. I had come to the realization that I had really, really made a mark and a difference on the show. It was so emotional for me. I didn’t want to leave the girls. RuPaul has really changed my life. I really feel that. I’ll never be the same.

How have you changed?
For me, personally, I had a lot of healing to do and I didn’t realize that coming on the show was going to give me the opportunity to do that, to close some chapters and open up some new ones, you know? It was just amazing. Of course I was with other contestants, but I was there by myself — no distractions — so you kind of have to face your dark days, you know?

With the challenge that eliminated you, did you think the judging was fair? Should someone else have gone home?
I mean, it coulda went either way. For me, we were all trying to create and make things fresh and new. And then some people just grabbed their dirty laundry out of their suitcase and walk it down the runway and win? I’m bitter! I still can’t swallow that pill.

'Dancing With the Stars' to feature sneak peek of Disney doomsday film starring William Levy. Plus: Annie predicts season 14 finalists in EW's podcast

Okay, that’s not “true.” I just wanted to sneak in an April Fool’s Day headline while I still had the chance. Happy holidays to all.

But hear me out: This could happen. The Dancing With the Stars crowd’s reaction to sizzling filet of man William Levy — a Cuban-American telenovela actor and model — is like nothing I’ve ever seen before. Brookebot and T-Berj can barely introduce him and his professional partner Cheryl Burke over the SOUL-DEADENING SCREAMS transmitted from three floors of fans. It’s like these visitors to Planet Mirrorballus have never seen a hot person before, and certainly not one from Cuba.

So far William Levy has worn a sleeveless shirt (to insane applause, for week 1′s cha cha — pictured) and a full-coverage black tie affair (to blood-curdling screams seemingly out of a horror movie, for week 2′s quickstep). I ask you, DANCMSTRs and fellow logicians: What is going to happen when William Levy wears no shirt at all? Will people drop dead from proximity to sexiness and the sight of his bare flesh? Will they screech until their heads explode? Now more than ever, I am frightened for our future. READ FULL STORY

'RuPaul's Drag Race' disqualified contestant speaks out: 'I wasn't caught doing anything'

Well, no one saw this one coming — except for maybe Willam herself.

“Will you please step forward?” RuPaul asked the controversial queen at the very end of last night’s new episode of RuPaul’s Drag Race, sending what should have been the routine elimination of Phi Phi O’Hara or Sharon Needles into a totally different — and weird — direction.

'American Idol': If Jermaine Jones is out, should there be another elimination this week?

American Idol‘s “gentle giant” Jermaine Jones — who, let’s be honest, probably would have been the next person kicked off Idol anyway — has reportedly been disqualified from the show for concealing multiple crimes and outstanding police warrants in 2011. According to THR, “Jones’ departure will pan out in dramatic fashion on Wednesday night’s broadcast.” Ewwwww.

Jones had been brought back into the Idol fold for an “incredible second chance” on February 28 as part of the Top 13 Guys. He had previously been eliminated by the judges on the green mile. At the time, Idol had highly publicized the “extra guy”‘s return, eventually naming Jones as the lucky contestant over former hopefuls Johnny Keyser, Richie Law, and David Leathers Jr.

Jones jumped the gun on Wednesday’s disqualification by announcing his departure over Twitter Tuesday night: READ FULL STORY
