Stephen Amell makes us want to resurrect 'Battle of the Network Stars' (paging Mark Harmon) -- VIDEO

Stephen-Amell-01.jpg

With three weeks until he starts filming season 3 of the CW’s Arrow, Stephen Amell is hitting the gym hard, and we’re all reaping the benefits, really, as he continues to post his “Superhero Workout” videos on his Facebook page and YouTube channel. They involve slo-mo. So no, you’re not the only one seeing it that way. I checked.

I had two thoughts as I viewed the videos below. First, Arrow producers must be both thrilled to have a star who works this hard — and who, fingers crossed, helps the stunt team score an Emmy nom — and nervous that he’ll injure himself. I’d make them watch the slo-mo jump into those mats in Workout #2 on loop if I ever need to torture them. READ FULL STORY

Channing Tatum reveals the 'Magic Mike XXL' plot

Our wait for details on the Magic Mike sequel set to hit theaters in July 2015 is over, ladies and (gay) gentlemen. Thanks to GQ’s July 2014 cover story on Channing Tatum (read it here in its entirety) we now know the plot will revolve around our favorite male exotic dancers going to a strippers’ convention. According to GQ, that’s the first memory of his stripper days Tatum shared with his producing partner Reid Carolin when pitching the first film: “I want to do the story of when I’m in a dark U-Haul with a bunch of these guys and we’re doing drugs driving up to the stripper convention.” Magic Mike director Steven Soderbergh told them the idea wasn’t a scene in the movie — it was a movie in itself. So the sequel will now be inspired by two conventions Tatum attended when he was 19. “The women would come from miles and miles around,” Tatum says, recalling one audience numbering 3,000. “Then you lock the doors and you say all bets are off. It gets zany and crazy, and it’s a wild ride. It’s an incubator for insanity. It doesn’t matter almost what you do onstage. I don’t want to put anything in black and white on a page, but if you’ve been to one, you know how crazy it gets, and now pour kerosene on that. You’ve seen Magic Mike — now multiply that. Mob mentality. It’s just exponentially crazier. I thought it was absolutely insane.” READ FULL STORY

Report: Stephen Amell is not shirtless in upcoming Hallmark Channel movie

We’re only one week away from the return of Arrow, so we think Stephen Amell fans can handle this news: We’ve fast-forwarded through the Hallmark Channel original movie When Calls the Heart premiering Oct. 19, and he does not appear to be shirtless in it. At all. There is some nice oatmeal-colored Henley action when his character, Royal Canadian Mountie Wynn Delaney, startles the new school teacher (Maggie Grace) by delivering firewood. But that’s as close as you’ll get.

The movie, based on Janette Oke’s Canadian West book series, is a prequel of sorts to a Hallmark original series debuting in January. In the film, a wealthy young woman receives a teaching assignment in a small 19th century coal town. As she decides whether to accept it, and then makes the journey there accompanied by a handsome young Mountie, she finds courage in the secret diary of her late aunt (Grace), who also had a teaching post in the western frontier –and, of course, a similar love interest.

'True Blood' poll: Is it okay to admit you like Warlow?

Good storytelling means characters aren’t always what they first appear to be. But when the stakes are as high as they are on a supernatural show like True Blood, misjudgments can be deadly. Perhaps that’s why I can’t decide how I feel about Warlow, the big bad turned sensitive stud played by Pacific Rim‘s Rob Kazinsky. Or rather, why I feel guilty admitting I like him as much as I do. Let’s break it down. Spoiler alert, if you haven’t seen this week’s episode: READ FULL STORY

Chris Pratt gets cut for 'Guardians of the Galaxy' -- PHOTO

Chris Pratt knows it’s “kinda douchey” to post a shirtless pic on Instagram, but we’ll forgive him. The Parks and Recreation star’s brother convinced him to show off his new physique for Marvel’s big-screen Guardians of the Galaxy in which Pratt will play leading man Star Lord, the half-human half-alien leader of a bio-engineered team of space-traveling heroes. We’re guessing this took Henry Cavill hours in the gym, but Pratt credits “Six months no beer.” READ FULL STORY

Today in (even more) inappropriate 'Henry Cavill is Hot' tweets...

It’s Day 2 of our Henry Cavill Twitter Watch, and the tweets about his handsomeness have definitely gotten racier. Credit goes to more people having actually now seen him on the big screen as Man of Steel‘s Superman, but also to the airing of a Graham Norton Show interview in Britain, which produced so many tweets right as we began our search for inappropriate expressions of affection that we only had the stamina to look through two hours’ worth. Watch a fun Graham Norton clip below in which costar Amy Adams explains how creepy one feels talking about Henry’s beauty in front of him. (Ah, the anonymity of the Internet.) And below, the inappropriate — but still printable — tweet sampling: READ FULL STORY
