We asked, and you answered, PopWatchers. More than 150,000 passionate EW.com readers voted in the final contest that resulted in Glee‘s Kurt Hummel and Blaine Anderson defeating Doctor Who‘s most beloved romantic pairing to be named your Greatest TV Couple of All Time. In celebration of Klaine, who bested Marshall and Lily, Buffy and Spike, and Carrie and Big on their way to the crown — see the entire bracket here — we’ve rounded up the most essential songs (plus a bonus non-Klaine duet that, if we left it out, you would certainly savage us).

Below, a timeless, groundbreaking TV love story in six songs.

The Greatest TV Couple of All Time? EW Staff Pick: Peter and Olivia

As Kurt and Blaine battle it out with the Doctor and Rose in EW’s Greatest TV Couple of All Time championship, we’re unveiling our favorite couples who didn’t advance as far as we would have liked. Here’s the case for Peter and Olivia of Fringe.

The question EW has been asking in polls throughout this tournament is “Whose love is stronger?” In Round 2, voters favored Gossip Girl‘s Chuck and Blair over Peter and Olivia by a 10.6 percent margin. But I have to argue that only the strongest love – like that shared between Olivia and Peter – can weather storms of cosmic proportions this Fringe couple faced for five seasons. READ FULL STORY

The Greatest TV Couple of All Time? EW Staff Pick: Ross and Rachel

As Kurt and Blaine battle it out with the Doctor and Rose in EW’s Greatest TV Couple of All Time championship, we’re unveiling our favorite couples, who didn’t advanced as far as we would have liked. Here’s the case for Ross and Rachel of Friends.

When a soaking-wet-wedding-dress-clad Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) waltzed through Central Perk’s doors, she walked right back into Ross’ (David Schwimmer) heart. It was at this moment that one of TV’s best “will they or won’t they” couples was born. And despite only making it to the Elite 8 in our tournament, Ross and Rachel definitely deserve a place in the pantheon of greatest TV couples. READ FULL STORY

The Greatest TV Couple of All Time? EW Staff Pick: Marge and Homer

As Kurt and Blaine battle it out with the Doctor and Rose in EW’s Greatest TV Couple of All Time championship, we’re unveiling our favorite couples, who didn’t advanced as far as we would have liked. Here’s the case for Marge and Homer Simpson.

Homer and Marge losing the title of TV’s Greatest Couple? It seemed unpossible — until Lost‘s Desmond and Penny smote them in Round 2 of our competition. “The Constant,” it seems, is the only thing capable of conquering a rock-solid relationship that’s thrived despite — among other things — unplanned pregnancies, money troubles, alcoholism, neglect, one short-lived divorce, accidental bigamy, Homer’s stint as an oversharing adult education teacher, and temptations from the likes of sexy bowling instructor Jacques, sexy country singer Lurleen Lumpkin, and sexy sexpot Michelle Pfeiffer. And that’s just in seasons 1-10!

The Greatest TV Couple of All Time? EW Staff Pick: Starbuck and Apollo

As Kurt and Blaine battle it out with the Doctor and Rose in EW’s Greatest TV Couple of All Time championship, we’re unveiling our favorite couples, who didn’t advanced as far as we would have liked. Here’s a case for Starbuck and Apollo from Battlestar Galactica.

Picking my favorite TV couple was a decision I took very seriously! Do I choose the couple who taught me about love (Darrin and Samantha), the couple who I think has the most functional relationship (Howard and Marion), or the couple who I most want to emulate in my own relationships (Jim and Pam before Pam became too much to handle)?  In the end, I had to go with my heart. So I picked the couple who constantly made me feel like someone was grabbing my heart tightly between their fingers and squeezing: Starbuck and Apollo (or Lee and Kara, played by Katee Sackhoff and Jamie Bamber). The Greatest TV Couple of All Time? EW Staff Pick: Sawyer and Juliet

As Kurt and Blaine battle it out with the Doctor and Rose in EW’s Greatest TV Couple of All Time championship, we’re unveiling our favorite couples, who didn’t advance as far as we would have liked. Here’s the case for Sawyer and Juliet of Lost.

I didn’t know I wanted Sawyer and Juliet to be in love until they already were. That’s the thing about Lost: its time-trickery cuts out everything except mystery and revelation, which makes a nameless Island fill with dread and a man like Josh Holloway’s James “Sawyer” Ford into the soul mate of a woman like Elizabeth Mitchell’s Juliet Burke (even if they couldn’t make it past round two in our bracket game). The Greatest TV Couple of All Time? EW Staff Pick: Coach and Tami

As Kurt and Blaine battle it out with the Doctor and Rose in EW’s Greatest TV Couple of All Time championship, we’re unveiling our favorite couples, who didn’t advanced as far as we would have liked. Here’s the case for Coach and Tami of Friday Night Lights.

Connie Britton and Kyle Chandler said that what allowed them to play such a strong, realistic married couple on Friday Night Lights was the fact that on day one, the writers told them that they were never going to break up. And that is the foundation of what would become, in my opinion, the greatest television couple of all time … even if they were knocked out in round one of our bracket game (Thanks a lot, Jim and Pam). Love is on the air: Who is the Greatest TV Couple of All Time?

face-off-final.jpg

You know how CBS puts its NCAA basketball tournament to bed each year with a video montage set to “One Shining Moment”? I can’t help but envision the “One Shining Moment” for EW’s Who is the Greatest TV Couple of All Time? bracket game, reminding us of the loves lost during this often ruthless contest. There’s a shot of Sam and Diane getting engaged in court, there’s a clip of Marge getting all Officer and a Gentleman with Homer at the power plant, and there’s Ross in the rain staring at Rachel inside Central Perk. But who will get the final glorious we’re-number-one embrace? Will it be the Doctor and Rose, whose love knows no time or space boundaries in Doctor Who? Or Kurt and Blaine, whose trailblazing romance continues to give hope to those yearning for a happy forever-after on Glee? Both finalists are beloved by the passionate followings of the show and have the online support to prove it.

The polls are open now and will close late on Thursday night, before we crown the Greatest TV Couple of All Time on Friday. You can check out our full bracket here.

Love is on the air: Who is the greatest TV couple of all time? The Final Four

It was a stunner: Even President Obama likely had Ross and Rachel advancing to the Final Four in his Greatest TV Couple of All Time bracket. But that’s why they play the games… and the popularity contests that skew towards current favorites. Like Marshall and Lily of How I Met Your Mother, deserved darlings who upset the presumed No. 1 seed with a little help from their friends. The couple joins Kurt and Blaine from Glee, The Doctor and Rose from Doctor Who, and sentimental favorite Lucy and Ricky from I Love Lucy (who’ve made it this far without a grassroots social-media presence).

Check out our full bracket here and vote in the polls below to determine who will move on to the championship round. Now, the Final Four remaining couples battle it out below!

Marshall and Lily, How I Met Your Mother vs. Kurt and Blaine, Glee

We’ve watched Ted tell the story of his search for the would-be mother of his children for nearly eight seasons, but How I Met Your Mother‘s greatest couple actually didn’t have to search very hard for one another at all. Marshall and Lily’s tale began in college — she was an art freak and he loved, um, sandwiches. For both Ted and the audience, the couple quickly became the ideal for that right-in-front-of-your-face/call-just-to-say-I-love-you romance — the kind of love where you know the search is over.
