Randy Jackson — who’s officially departing American Idol — gets a bad rep. Just look at him up there. Clearly he has the most productive things to say on the season 12 judging panel! Below, my half-assed tribute to an inflated animal balloon (the producers made me do it!):
Yo, You Feel Me? 10 Things Randy Jackson Always Did Beautifully #InItToWinIt
10. Created Catchphrases: It’s a Comeback Kid story for the ages: The Dawg somehow overcame a severely limited vocabulary to conjure up gorgeous nonsense words and phrases — “Pitchy!” “You can sing the phone book!” “Blow it out the box!” “For me, for you!” — that would flourish for years (due to Randy’s refusal to quit saying them). Well, a Paul Wesley cut-out that is.
In preparation for the ’70s flashback on tonight’s episode of The Vampire Diaries, we asked Ian Somerhalder to dress his on-screen brother in decade-appropriate (and, at least in one case, not-so-appropriate) attire.
Since Stefan doesn’t appear in the flashbacks, Ian predicted how he might have dressed during the era (see the photo above for a sneak peek at Damon’s look). The result? A big wig, teal bell-bottoms, and obviously — this is TVD — a leather jacket.
Watch the video below to see Ian play stylist. READ FULL STORY
Michelle Williams found herself the unlikely center of a controversy this week. One of the photos in a spread for AnOther Magazine features the Oz: The Great and Powerful actress in hollowed-out makeup, long braids, and feathers in her hair. She’s meant to look like a Native American, and it has not gone over well.
Tuesday, Jezebel published an article from Ruth Hopkins, a writer, scientist, and tribal attorney, who also happens to be a Native American. Hopkins wrote that it was “redface,” and also cited the unfortunate connection between the photo and the fact that Wonderful Wizard of Oz author L. Frank Baum wrote an editorial in 1890 calling for the extermination of the American Indian. She wants an apology and for the issues to be pulled.
Michelle Williams had no comment on the matter, but AnOther issued the following statement:
While we recognize the seriousness of this debate, the image in question in no way intends to mimic, trivialise or stereotype any particular ethnic group or culture, as recent reports suggest. READ FULL STORY
Celebrity perfume press releases are traditionally the most flowery in all of entertainment. They have to be. But the announcement of Mariah Carey’s new scent, Mariah Carey Dreams, available exclusively at Kohl’s in April and on Kohls.com today, truly outdoes itself. An excerpt: READ FULL STORY
Kim Kardashian sees Demi Moore’s naked and pregnant Vanity Fair cover and raises her this (seemingly) naked, pregnant, faux-mid-coitus L’Officiel Hommes cover, co-starring Kanye West as “the guy simulating sex with Kim Kardashian.” Clearly, this couple is trying to make things as awkward as possible for their unborn kid. Little Konniption Kardashian-West must be protected from Google at all costs, once he or she learns how to type.
Think the cover is classy in a French fashion magazine sort of way, or trashy in a low rent French fashion magazine sort of way?
Sports Illustrated has revealed its 2013 Swimsuit Issue cover, which features 20-year-old model and untalented car-washer Kate Upton (again!) braving the harsh Antarctic tundra in an open white parka and hopefully fleece-lined bikini bottoms. See the full, absurdly booby image (NSFW, BUT WHY ARE YOU STILL AT WORK?) after the break. READ FULL STORY
You never know what kind of craziness is going to go down on RuPaul’s Drag Race — especially once the show heads to its rather unpredictable runway. In the past we’ve seen queens be disqualified (Willam) and admit that they were HIV-positive (Ongina), and last night included another runway shocker, one that deserves a SPOILER ALERT in case you haven’t seen it: Contestant Monica Beverly Hillz admitted that she is a transgender woman.
“It’s true what you’re saying — there is a lot going through my head,” she said through tears to the judges, after they critiqued her rather harshly and said that she seemed “sad” and “disconnected” and not like herself. “I feel I’m not here. I’ve just been holding a secret in and trying so hard. I’m not just a drag queen — I’m a transgendered woman.”
