Answer: Nope. Because my definition of pure bliss is acting like Friends never ended, and if anything is going to help me live in denial, it’s a steady stream of photos featuring random pairings of Friends cast members.

Jennifer Aniston will always be America’s sweetheart. Just look at the way her face scrunches up in glee when Chelsea Handler asks her about her engagement to Justin Theroux — it’s downright adorable. And how many 43-year-old women can legitimately claim to be adorable? When she gets teary, you just want to give her a hug, then invite her over to watch season 3 of Friends with you. Even tart-tongued Handler broke character to celebrate her pal last night: “He’s the greatest guy ever, and you guys make the greatest couple ever, and I’m so happy for you too.” So are we! Hooray! Let’s get yogurt!!
Of course, the host did also call Jen out for tending to wear shirts that show off her nipples… so maybe the praise party only goes so far. Check out both moments in the videos below. And for the record — yeah, you can kinda see some headlights in the second clip.

For any hardcore fan of the 1996 musical Rent, Manhattan’s old Moondance Diner is a sort of holy site. Composer/lyricist Jonathan Larson worked there while penning his Tony and Pulitzer-winning opus; Larson also immortalized the restaurant in a song from his lesser-known musical Tick, Tick… Boom! And even those who aren’t familiar with Rent have probably seen the Moondance onscreen: Monica worked as a cook there during a few seasons of Friends. The Sex and the City gals used to stop by the diner for weekend brunch. Their table may have been waited on by Kirsten Dunst’s Mary Jane Watson, who also worked at the Moondance in 2002′s Spider-Man.
Alas, pop culture notoriety isn’t enough to keep a restaurant in business. In 2007, the institution closed — but was saved from demolition by a group of rabble-rousing preservationists and neighborhood residents. (Just like the people on the subway in Spider-Man 2!) Later that year, the restaurant was donated to the American Diner Museum. The museum subsequently sold it to Cheryl and Vince Pierce, who transported the Moondance — walls, moon sign and all — to their hometown of LaBarge, Wyoming.

There’s something familiar about Go On, a new sitcom NBC previewed after tonight’s Olympics coverage — and I’m not talking about star Matthew Perry’s latest variation on Chandler Bing.
The show centers on Perry as Ryan King, a slick sportscaster who’s just suffered a devastating loss. Though Ryan wants nothing more than to bury his feelings and get on with his life, his bro-y boss (John Cho) insists that Ryan get help before returning to work full-time. Ryan is resistant — “Therapy? It’s not in my blood. I go see a shrink, my dad will roll around in his grave. At least, I think he’s dead. We don’t talk about that kind of thing” — but eventually relents. He joins an ethnically and generationally diverse therapy group that meets in a dingy classroom — an assembly that also includes an uptight, shiny-haired Tracy Flick type, a middle-aged, motherly nurturer, an older gent, and an antisocial weirdo with a wide-eyed stare.
See what I’m getting at? From its premise to its characters to its very set, Go On contains more than a whiff of NBC’s Community — which seems odd from a business perspective, given that show’s notoriously low ratings. READ FULL STORY »

While you’re busy figuring out how many more swings you’ve got left in that summer hammock, the broadcast networks are already focusing on the fall, preparing to push a bunch of new shows across your television screens. Not surprisingly, many will feature a familiar face or two. Dennis Quaid and Michael Chiklis stand imposingly on opposite sides of the law in CBS ’60s-era drama Vegas. Terry O’Quinn is downright devilish as an upscale apartment building owner in ABC’s 666 Park Avenue. David Krumholtz and Michael Urie are partners in CBS’ Partners.
You can get your first sneak peek of the season this week, when NBC previews Go On (Aug. 8), a comedy featuring Matthew Perry as a glib (were you expecting a different adjective?) sports talk radio host who’s forced to try group therapy to help him cope with his wife’s death, and Animal Practice (Aug. 12), a comedy in which Weeds‘ Justin Kirk stars as a highly skilled vet who doesn’t enjoy humans and whose closest friend is “Dr. Rizzo,” played by… the drug-dealing, cigarette-smoking monkey from The Hangover 2. (Her credits also include Night at the Museum and Community.) The capuchin — whose real name is Crystal — will be up to all kinds of tricks, from running a gambling ring to going on rounds in a toy car. All while wearing a lab coat. And playing a male monkey. Happy Fourth of July Weekend, Part I. It remains to be seen whether July 4 falling on a Wednesday is the best or worst possible scenario for festivities celebrating our nation’s 236th birthday. But at least we have a returning hero who wears the red, white, and (black and) blue on his sleeve. Spider-Man swings back into action after disappearing for… well, only five years. Andrew Garfield might be a Brit, but he was born in Los Angeles, so his Spidey is more All-American that the current Batman and upcoming Superman. U – S – A! U – S – A!!

The third season of Cougar Town has come full circle. Spoiler Alert: Stop reading if you haven’t seen the finale yet.
We started out with a tear-inducing proposal and finished off with a tear-inducing marriage. It wasn’t an easy road, but Jules and Grayson are finally Mr. and Mrs. But I’m getting ahead of myself here. The special two-part “My Life/Your World” began with a frustrated Grayson. He forgot that by marrying Jules he was marrying the rest of the cul-de-sac crew. And that meant he’d never get any privacy over at Casa de Jules. Grayson decided his life was just like Groundhog Day since he was reliving the same problems over and over again.

After a tumultuous year in TV scheduling limbo, Cougar Town finally concludes its third season tonight on ABC. The episode will also mark the cul-de-sac crew’s last appearance on the network, as Jules & Co. will be packing their bags and moving to TBS next year, sans showrunners Bill Lawrence and Kevin Biegel.
In the special hour-long finale “My Life/Your World,” Jules and Grayson (spoiler alert!) finally tie the knot. So grab your own Big Joe Carl Lou, and prepare for a night of pounding grape with a few notes about the season 3 ender:

Well, PopWatchers, “What Will Happen to the Gang Next Year?” was the finale to 30 Rock‘s penultimate season. Yup, season 7 will be the series’ last. And in terms of season finales, I have to say the season 6 ender was a little underwhelming. But at least they’ve now primed us for where things (might) be headed come fall. Will Liz and Criss have a baby? Will Jack become the supreme leader of KableTown? Will Kenneth…who cares what Kenneth does! But I’m getting ahead of myself here.
Liz and Criss continued their discussion about possibly having a plant baby together. Criss was particularly worried that Liz would bail on him. “You know what kind of women in their 40s have never been married, Liz? Uggos, crazies, and bailers. You’re not an uggo. And you’re haha crazy, not oh boy crazy, which means you bail!” So Criss set out to make enough money to pay for their apartment renovations. And when his hot dog business didn’t deliver, he sold his van, Van Der Beek. That’s true love.
