Sometimes it’s easy to forget that LeAnn Rimes was the precocious youngster that nabbed the Best New Artist winner at the 1997 Grammys, isn’t it? That’s primarily because over the past few years, Rimes went from being a country-crossover sensation to tabloid mainstay, thanks to her relationship with her now-husband, Playboy Club actor Eddie Cibrian. (The two began an affair while working on 2009′s cheese-tastic Northern Lights, which ultimately turned into its own Nora Roberts drama and caused the demise of both of their respective marriages.)
The scandal that never-says-die got a second fourteenth life when Cibrian’s ex-wife Brandi Glanville debuted on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills this week, prompting people to get invested in the story once more. In her premiere episode Glanville declared, “I was married to the number-one d—–bag of all time.”
Perhaps to make sure she doesn’t get a kicky new nickname courtesy of Glanville on The Real Housewives, Rimes appeared on Thursday’s installment of Ellen to discuss, among other things, her relationship with Cibrian. “Obviously, we made decisions that were not necessarily the right ones, but it obviously brought us to the place where we are now. And, we’re happy and we’re married. And we’ve always put his kids first. We took the kids into consideration with everything that we do,” Rimes told DeGeneres. “The way we handled it, I will always say, it could’ve been handled a lot better, but maybe we both didn’t have the tools at the time to do it properly. I think we have both come to a really good place in our lives. And, right now, I’m really at peace.” Watch the interview below. READ FULL STORY »
