Lunchtime Poll: Is Robert Pattinson really a vampire?

real-vampireImage Credit: Solarpix/PR Photos; Everett CollectionResearchers have determined that through a connection to the British royal family, Robert Pattinson and Vlad the Impaler, the inspiration for the main character in Bram Stoker’s Dracula, are related. It’s so weird that this news would surface now, but you can’t fight genealogy. And until a few seconds ago, I couldn’t spell it. In other news, I should probably let you know that I am a zombie. I wasn’t born one, but look at me now. Look at what I’m doing. Right now. [Yahoo! News]

Jimmy Fallon's Robert Pattinson is bothered again, this time about the World Cup

botheredJimmy Kimmel Live! may have the stars — thanks to a Twilight: Eclipse special airing tomorrow night — but Jimmy Fallon has the laughs with his hilarious series of  “Bothered” shorts, in which he dresses up like Robert Pattinson’s Edward — complete with blue button-down, ghost-like makeup and a perch high-ish in the treetops.

This time around, Fallon’s Pattinson expresses his Anglo-infused frustration with the World Cup. Besides FIFA not inviting every country on the planet Earth to the game, his Pattison is not happy with the World Cup trophy, which he thinks looks like, ahem, male genitalia.

He even goes on to change the famous “Ole Ole” chant using his favorite word. Check out the video after the jump to find out which word and see what else bothers him about the soccer event:

'Eclipse': Today in clips... Still loving Bella's comforter, and now Victoria's snarl

twilight-ecliseImage Credit: Kimberley FrenchThe Twilight Saga: Eclipse marketing machine continues to tease us. Naturally, you’re gonna wanna play the clip below titled “Bedroom” first. We’ve seen a part of this chat on Bella’s bed before — she wants to know why Edward is really so reluctant to turn her into a vampire. The danger with knowing this story so well: You get bored with all the talking. You can tell this when you start complimenting her comforter in your head.

There’s also a new TV spot focusing on Victoria’s army of new vampires coming for Bella, and the werewolves and vampires joining forces to protect her. We get to see more of Victoria and the CGI wolf pack in action. Remember how in the first film, they had to tone down the vampire snarling because they looked kind of ridiculous. Victoria makes that work. Well done, Bryce Dallas Howard. READ FULL STORY

'Harry Potter' vs. 'Twilight': Can't we all just get along?

harry-potter-vs-twilightImage Credit: Dimitrios Kambouris/WireImage.com; Kevin Winter/Getty ImagesFirst, there was the battle between Harry Potter and Voldemort. Then the fight between Edward and Jacob. And now, the war between Harry Potter and Twilight fans. I’m not sure when that last tiff began, but as both franchises near their big-screen conclusions, it’s heating up. Sometimes it’s encouraged  (okay, like when EW asked which clip that premiered during the MTV Movie Awards looked better, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows or The Twilight Saga: Eclipse — Deathly Hallows won with 88 percent of the vote, FYI). But sometimes it’s not, like when news first broke that Breaking Dawn might be two films and the comments section on our post about it turned into a forum for people to flame about how Twilight was just copying Harry Potter and milking its final installment. 'Eclipse' actress Elizabeth Reaser: Five moments she loved filming

Elizabeth-ReaserImage Credit: http://img2.timeinc.net/ew/dynamic/imgs/100617/Elizabeth-Reaser_240.jpgWhen Elizabeth Reaser dropped by EW HQ last month, she was just happy to be wearing blush — portraying a vampire mom in three movies as part of the Twilight franchise would cause anyone to develop an appreciation for looking alive.

But while dead was always part of the deal — she was playing a vampire after all — what came more unexpectedly was Reaser’s turn as an action star in Eclipse, opening June 30 (as if we needed to remind you…). “It’s definitely an action movie, which I never anticipated being in, and I didn’t even really realize it until they said, ‘Ok, you’re going to fight training five days a week, and then you’re going to a personal trainer for two hours after that every day,'” Reaser said.

The actress, who plays Cullen matriarch Esme, had yet to see much footage from the final product at the time of our chat, but if her instincts translate well onscreen, she said she’s going to be one badass mom. “Esme’s the most loving character in the whole series, in my opinion, but — pardon my French — if you f— with one of Esme’s children, you are going down,” she said, laughing. “…That stuff can so quickly turn into Saturday Night Live if you’re not doing it well. Hopefully, we pulled it off.”

Read on for five of Reaser’s favorite moments filming Eclipse. READ FULL STORY

Dakota Fanning skips 'Eclipse' screening to take a test. Where are her priorities?

Dakota-fanningImage Credit: Sharky/Splash NewsAccess Hollywood got the real dirt from Eclipse co-star Dakota Fanning: Rather than attend a pre-junket screening of the highly anticipated Twilight sequel, Fanning told the show she instead was busy taking the ACT, a college entrance exam. And then she had to go and be charmingly self-deprecating about it all, admitting to guessing on some of the answers. I don’t know what’s up with Fanning, between the test-taking, college-experience-wanting, and the overall healthy future planning. But I find myself continually disoriented by her when I compare her to some of her, um, less studious-seeming peers. When EW’s Adam Markovitz interviewed her last year in the run-up to New Moon, she squeezed in a call to him just before class. At her actual high school. Do young stars even go to high school? I hadn’t realized. Am I the only one who assumes the ever-precocious Fanning will just take over the world one day?

Taylor Lautner does cover story interview at Olive Garden: What chain restaurant do you secretly crave?

taylor-gq-coverImage Credit: Mario Testino/GQI have never enjoyed Taylor Lautner more than in the cover story of July’s GQ (on stands June 22). He let the writer tag along with him to Nickelodeon’s annual Kids’ Choice Awards — where DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg approached Lautner to ask if he had two minutes (because Will Smith wanted to meet him) — and then, a week later, suggested they do their lunch interview at his local Olive Garden. An excerpt:

“Do you like this place?” he asks, a little unsure, adding: “My father turned me on to it.” Without glancing at the menu, Lautner orders the Toscana soup, then asks to substitute the Caesar salad for the house. Before the waiter can reply, Lautner interrupts innocently: “I know,” he says, “it’ll be a dollar fifty extra. That’s fine.” Well, yes. Yes, it will be. READ FULL STORY

Robert Pattinson likes foreplay (in the 'Twilight' series)

stewart-pattinsonWould the Twilight series be as sexy had Edward given in to Bella’s desire sooner? Robert Pattinson doesn’t think so. “Anyone who likes the books, they all think they’re really sexy. They just like that moment before [sex] … the kind of tipping point before it goes over,” he told Nightline in an interview that aired last night. “I mean, everybody likes that. That’s the best part, for a relationship.”

The man speaks the truth. It’s why the sexiest moment of any Twilight film will always be those seconds when Edward and Bella are leaning in for a kiss. Still, he said you’ve got to seal the deal sometime. “If there was a hard and fast decision by both [Bella and Edward] saying, ‘Yeah we’re going to remain virgins our entire lives, it’s never gonna happen,’ I don’t think it would be as popular a series.” Also very true.

As for the rest of the interview, READ FULL STORY

New 'Eclipse' clip gives us hope for Riley

There have been a couple new Twilight Saga: Eclipse clips released since the MTV Movie Awards, and honestly, if they’ve involved Edward, Bella, and Jacob they’ve been a bit of a snooze. The movie might be gangbusters (and we are actually hearing good things), but as for advance clips, three films in, tension between Edward and Jacob isn’t exactly that great of a tease. Been there, done that.

A short clip of Riley (Xavier Samuel), however? Now that’s something new. Watch him in the clip below telling Bree (Jodelle Ferland), the latest recruit in Victoria’s vampire army, that they’ll find her something to eat. Anyone else suddenly imaging Riley being played by Matt Czuchry (The Good Wife, Gilmore Girls)? It’s the voice. I like it. READ FULL STORY
