'Dancing With the Stars': Semifinals are liiiiiiiiiiiiiive!

Update: Annie’s recap is live.

Oh, it is ON. William Levy, Maria Menounos, Donald Driver, and Katherine Jenkins are gunning for that coveted mirrorball trophy tonight — and I’m in the ballroom to see it! My dress is white with orange and green flowers. It’s very “May.” You may think it’s very “tacky.” I have no idea where I’ll be sitting, but I’m sure you’ll spot me as a hidden gem. (Start by finding me last season: pictured, right. Sneaky!)

Hidden Gem Hunters: Watch below for a special shout-out from Tom Bergeron at the end of our video interview from Tuesday. He loves us almost as much as we love him! Tom really “gets it” — gem-wise and in all other facets of life. READ FULL STORY »

'Dancing With the Stars': Tom Bergeron on Dance Duel difficulties, getting bleeped, and the everlasting glory of EW's hidden gems -- EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

We’re getting down to the liiiiiiiiiiiiiive wire of Dancing With the Stars — just two weeks left before William Levy, Maria Menounos, Donald Driver, or Katherine Jenkins wins the coveted mirrorball trophy! I sat down with host/zen master Tom Bergeron after Tuesday’s double elimination results show to go over season 14.

How has the Dance Duel made Tom’s job more difficult — and should we cut cohost Brooke Burke some slack for always asking contestants “How do you feel?” Where does ABC get off airing two shows with “bitch” in the title, then bleeping out Tom when he decides to fire off a “B”? Did Maks get a horrible edit this ****ing season? Will Donald ever get that 10 from Len? Has William Levy’s uber-hotness made Tom partially deaf?

Watch below — and be sure to stick around ’til the end for Tom’s special shout-out to EW.com’s hidden gem-hunting community.

'Dancing With the Stars': Tristan MacManus on getting handcuffed to Mark Ballas, Katherine's pesky pant leg, Maks and Melissa's rehearsal drama

Ballroom dancing pro and amateur leprechaun Tristan MacManus will keep checking in with EW.com even after he and partner Gladys Knight were eliminated in their quest for the coveted mirrorball trophy.

Are you still handcuffed to Mark Ballas? We couldn’t get them off at the end, yeah! I actually cut my finger when I grabbed ‘em. I didn’t realize until I looked up at the scores and realized me hand was covered in blood. I must’ve grabbed ‘em too tight or something.

I got a message from Mark on Tuesday night and it said “You’re my pro.” Yeah, for sure, it was fun! It was very difficult. Sometimes it’s easier to choreograph when you have more people. Not in the sense that you can get more help, but certainly in the sense of symmetry and stuff. Like if you have four people, then you can always make it easier. With three, it’s quite difficult. It was a big test for the professionals to have to do that this week. READ FULL STORY »

'Dancing With the Stars': Week 8 is liiiiiiiiiiiiiive!

Update: Annie’s recap is live.

Val’s vodka gut is still in it to win it! On tonight’s Dancing With the Stars, the six remaining couples will dance a style they’ve never done before and compete in a “Trio Challenge”  – for which they’ll add an eliminated Pro or Troupe member to the mix. (“I’m just calling them threesomes,” Tom Bergeron tweeted).

I’m sorry to say there will be no hidden gems this week, as I will be on the set Tuesday to interview Tom and Tristan in-person. READ FULL STORY »

'Dancing With the Stars': Tristan MacManus on dancing with Karina and Team (Paso) Shirtless

Ballroom dancing pro and amateur leprechaun Tristan MacManus will keep checking in with EW.com even after he and partner Gladys Knight were eliminated in their quest for the coveted mirrorball trophy.

On Monday’s rumba with Karina: Gladys sent me a message as soon as we’d done the number tonight with Jackie Evancho. In her own sweet and kind of genuine way, she said she was delighted to see me get to “dance with somebody.” I said I danced with you all those weeks! She said no really, to get to see you dance full-out with people….she liked it.

I’d been wanting to dance with Karina [embedded below] — I’ve never danced with her before so I was delighted. Hopefully I’ll get to dance with her again, at some stage. I’m lucky to dance with any of the girls on this show, they’re all such great dancers. But yeah, I was looking forward to dancing with Karina. We have fun, we get on with each other. We came up with this dance Saturday for about an hour or two, then we had blocking today. So a pretty short, quick one. But it was good, I got to choreograph another number out of it so that’s pretty cool.

Is the smoke machine annoying? I don’t know, I guess it looks all right. Makes the floor very slippy. The fog has to fall somewhere, know what I mean? I guess that was something they decided to use last minute. So it was what it was. They’re always trying to do different things, try and make it look as good as possible. READ FULL STORY »
