Want to hear about the time Jennifer Lawrence was caught with a bunch of butt plugs?

Of course you do! It all began when one of Lawrence’s pals bought the Hunger Games and American Hustle star a “copious amount of butt plugs” –”as a joke,” she claims. Suuuuure, Jennifer. Then, for some reason, she took the whole stash — various colors, sizes, materials and all — to a hotel. And… well, we’ll let J. Law take it from there. Shine on, you crazy diamond!

Conan O'Brien previews hour-plus chat with the 'relentless' Mel Brooks -- EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

Conan-OBrien-Mel-Brooks.jpg

Mel Brooks’ fingerprints are all over Conan O’Brien’s absurd brand of comedy — can’t you see Richard Pryor loving Triumph the Insult Comic Dog? — and the famous funnymen’s mutual respect is evident in a recent sit-down for Conan’s Serious Jibber-Jabber web series. (The full chat hits TeamCoco.com on Monday.)

EW got Conan on the phone to talk about his admiration for Brooks and what he learned during their hour-plus talk. (The Serious Jibber-Jabber tagline: “Conan O’Brien talks for a long time with interesting people.”) We also nabbed an exclusive preview clip below, in which Brooks explains why Pryor didn’t star in Blazing Saddles and how they were free to “go nuts” with the script.

All local news reacts the same way to Mike Myers baby announcement -- VIDEO

Dear everybody: Your joke isn’t as funny — or original — as you think it is.

Conan O’Brien pointed out as much on his show last night, noting that every local news anchor in America made the exact same movie reference when noting that Mike Myers and his wife are expecting their second child. And no, it wasn’t a “mini me” remark.

In the 29 (!) clips compiled below, each newscaster’s enthusiasm for the bit varies wildly — from “I’ve never even seen Austin Powers and therefore have no idea what reference I’m making” to “Saturday Night Live, here I come!” Watch the Conan compilation below: READ FULL STORY

Government shutdown: The best late-night and celeb reactions

Faster than you can say “meme,” the Internet was aflutter with commentary on today’s government shutdown. Ranging from the angry to the silly to the tweetable, here are the best reactions:

The best late-night government roasting (in addition to Stewart and Colbert’s “Rockin’ Government Shutdown Eve“): “Our government may be shutting down in a few hours. So folks, get ready for absolutely no noticeable difference,” Conan O’Brien said on Monday’s Conan. “All this drama is very confusing to all the hookers in D.C. They don’t know whether they have to go to work tomorrow either,” Arsenio Hall said on The Arsenio Hall Show.

'Breaking Bad' takes over 'Conan' -- VIDEO

Just like you, Conan O’Brien is obsessed with Breaking Bad. Just like you, he’s been spending the last few months both eagerly anticipating and dreading the series finale on September 29. And just like you, Conan also thinks it’d be just awesome to spend half an hour palling around with Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, Anna Gunn, Dean Norris, Betsy Brandt, RJ Mitte, Bob Odenkirk, Jonathan Banks, and Vince Gilligan.

But unlike you, Conan actually has the power to make that last part happen. Thus, last night’s episode of Conan — a celebration of AMC’s Emmy-winning drama, featuring altered opening credits, appearances by every full cast member, several goofy in-joke segments (“BarrelFlex: Get fit the Breaking Bad way!”), and even a special musical guest: Los Cuates de Sinaloa, performing the opening song from season 2′s “Negro y Azul,” a.k.a. “The Ballad of Heisenberg.”

Emmys 2013: Neil Patrick Harris kicks off the show with help from former hosts (and one Paula Deen joke)

And we’re off! Neil Patrick Harris kicked off the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards with a host-filled opening number. What started with an over-complicated binge-watching bit (that made at least one viewer very dizzy), turned into a bit of a rough start on stage for the usually musical host.

Shying away from said musical talent, Harris wasn’t exactly on his game when he first came out on stage, trying too hard to make a joke about the way “kids” watch television nowadays. But after the first Paula Deen joke of the night, Harris was joined on stage by previous hosts Jimmy Kimmel, Jane Lynch, Jimmy Fallon, and Conan O’Brien, who picked up the tempo (a little) with gender jokes, tap dancing, and those always funny 2002-was-so-long-ago jokes. Darren Criss talks Cory Monteith: 'We're picking up the pieces now'

Darren Criss stopped by Conan last night, where the actor shared his memories about his late co-star and “dear friend” Cory Monteith. His remarks join Chris Colfer, Kevin McHale, Lea Michele and other Glee cast members who have weighed in since the actor’s untimely death July 13.

Calling him a “wonderful guy,” Conan O’Brien asked Criss how the cast was holding up. “Obviously it’s been a very rough time,” Criss shared. But the actor tried to look forward, explaining, “We’re picking up the pieces now and there’s two things you got to remember about Cory: One, he was a really funny guy. He had a great sense of humor; he loved life. He always took care of his friends, he wanted his friends to be happy, so it’s only right that we try and start to smile again, try and laugh again. It’s something he would have wanted.”

He continued, “On a personal note, he will be severely missed but I’m just happy that a guy like him got to touch as many lives as he did while we were all lucky enough to have him.”

Aubrey Plaza discusses the struggles of self-pleasure on camera

Aubrey-Plaza-Conan.jpg

April Ludgate is so jealous of how uncomfortable Aubrey Plaza made Conan O’Brien last night.

In hindsight, Aubrey Plaza probably should have known that filming for her raunch-fest comedy The To Do List would likely involve her acting out some private moments onscreen. But somehow she didn’t, as the actress explained on Conan. “I read it on the page, ‘Brandi masturabates’ and in my head I envisioned a nice scene where you see my hand just go out of frame…But then when I showed up, the camera was mounted on the ceiling, I was in my underwear and there were a bunch of old guys smoking [laughing] you know, the crew guys!…and then I went and touched myself.”

O’Brien may be uncomfortable, but this awkward moment is exactly the sweet spot of sorts that Plaza thrives in. Check it out below: READ FULL STORY

The Benedict Cumberbatch shower scene you DIDN'T see in 'Star Trek Into Darkness' -- VIDEO

Benedict-Cumberbatch-topless.jpg

If you’re a Cumberbitch, I won’t mince words: Go below the jump, my friends.

If you had to look up the (made-up) word “Cumberbitch,” I’ll provide some context: Star Trek Into Darkness maestros J. J. Abrams and Damon Lindelof have been taking some heat for a scene in their new movie, which features a gratuitous shot of star Alice Eve in her underwear. (Gratuitous female nudity in an action movie? Well, I never!)

But as Abrams pointed out on Conan last night, the scene in question came after an earlier shot of gratuitous Chris Pine shirtlessness — meaning that if anything, he and the Enterprise crew are equal-opportunity objectifiers. Abrams subsequently revealed something that may have made Tumblr explode: Star Trek villain Benedict Cumberbatch also had a shirtless scene that ended up being cut from the movie. And then the director showed a snippet of the scene in question — which finds Cumberbatch glowering in a “shower of evil.”
