Between Pinterest and shows like Say Yes to the Dress and The Bachelor, weddings have become quite the spectacle. The dresses are big, the locations are bigger, and the ring? Well, if Neil Lane has anything to say about it, it’s going to be a spectacle all its own.
So in the world of Hollywood, it’s refreshing when a couple puts the money aspect aside and gets married just to, you know, get married. Take Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell, for example. After three years of engagement, the couple tied the knot at the Beverly Hills Courthouse on Oct. 17. And in a recent interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Shepard lets it slip that the entire ceremony, including the fuel it took to get them to the Courthouse, cost them $142.
And that doesn’t even include the cost of Shepard’s ring, because he doesn’t have one yet. However, he tells Kimmel that he fully intends to follow in his footsteps and purchase a wedding band from Costco. That being said, Shepard does admit that Bell’s engagement ring was “expensive as hell,” but that’s in the past. Now, Bell and Shepard have taken part in the “world’s worst wedding,” and they couldn’t be happier about it.

From a wedding singer in her “Tie It Up” music video to a real-life bride in her own wedding video, Kelly Clarkson is conquering the wedding world one adorable video at a time.
The singer recently tweeted a video from Sunday’s top secret ceremony, in which Clarkson married Brandon Blackstock at Blackberry Farm, a resort in Walland, Tenn. In the video, we get a glimpse of the gorgeous fall setting, Clarkson’s intimate ceremony, and all things love. Between the colorful trees, the bridge, and the canoe, Clarkson’s wedding might as well have been straight out of Pinterest wedding heaven.
Weiss Eubanks Film made the video, which is set to Patty Griffin’s “Heavenly Day.” Like I said, Pinterest heaven (minus a mason jar or two). Watch

The Supreme Court’s recent legalization of gay marriage has made Hollywood a very happy place as of late.
Scottish-American actor John Barrowman tied the knot with his partner of 20 years, Scott Gill, on Tuesday, according to People.
Barrowman even documented their car ride to the nuptials via a WhoSay account video with the caption, “We are getting married today because we now can.”
Barrowman, 46, appeared in the Doctor Who series as Captain Jack Harkness.
Fanfic writers, your dreams are coming true: Magneto is marrying Professor X.
Okay, not exactly. But the actors who play the iconic X-Men characters do have some wedding plans lined up: Sir Ian McKellen will officiate at the upcoming wedding of Sir Patrick Stewart and his fiancée, 35-year-old jazz singer Sunny Ozell.
When the topic of X-Men: Days of Future Past came up during McKellen’s appearance on U.K. program The Jonathan Ross Show this weekend, the English actor announced, “I’m going to marry Patrick,” provoking some fits of laughter from the audience before he clarified, “How else do you put that? I’m going to officiate at his wedding.” READ FULL STORY
Soothsaying powers and scraggly wizard hair must be a packaged deal. At last night’s Killing Them Softly premiere, Brad Pitt revealed to People that his wedding to Angelina Jolie is on the horizon: “The time is nigh. It’s soon. I got a good feeling about it,” he prophesized, gazing off at a future that only he could see. In the distance, a raven crowed.
Really, though, Pitt says that the couple’s international brood — a cookie to anyone who can name all six Brangelina spawn without Googling! — are the main reason that the wedding is imminent. “I am getting more pressure from my kids, and it is something I want to do within their lifetime,” he said at the premiere. “We’ve had a family, we’ve raised the kids. I am surprised how much [marriage] meant to me once you had that.” Clearly, Molly and Arthur Weasley will be Brangelina’s marriage role models.
Sorry gals, it looks like love. While performing at his wedding reception, Justin Timberlake reportedly debuted a new song for his ladylove, Jessica Biel.
Us Weekly reported the news, and if true, this means that the man whose music career has been on hold since 2006 actually took the time to pen some lyrics for his betrothed. If that’s not love, I don’t know what is.
Since the ceremony consisted of an intimate gathering of friends and family, I doubt there’s any shaky camera footage of the performance out there. (Not that we didn’t try combing YouTube.) There’s no word on whether Timberlake will release the new tune, but in the meantime, let’s debate which Timberlake song we would have wanted him to sing to us? READ FULL STORY
Jennifer Aniston will always be America’s sweetheart. Just look at the way her face scrunches up in glee when Chelsea Handler asks her about her engagement to Justin Theroux — it’s downright adorable. And how many 43-year-old women can legitimately claim to be adorable? When she gets teary, you just want to give her a hug, then invite her over to watch season 3 of Friends with you. Even tart-tongued Handler broke character to celebrate her pal last night: “He’s the greatest guy ever, and you guys make the greatest couple ever, and I’m so happy for you too.” So are we! Hooray! Let’s get yogurt!!
Of course, the host did also call Jen out for tending to wear shirts that show off her nipples… so maybe the praise party only goes so far. Check out both moments in the videos below. And for the record — yeah, you can kinda see some headlights in the second clip.
Seven years after Being Bobby Brown fascinated and horrified TV audiences, a new reality show about Whitney Houston’s family is coming to cable. Lifetime’s The Houstons: On Our Own follows the late star’s relatives — including her mother, Cissy, her brother, Gary, and her sister-in-law and manager, Pat — as they try to keep their family together in the wake of Whitney’s sudden death.
But show’s main focus is 19-year-old Bobbi Kristina, Whitney’s daughter with ex-husband Bobby Brown — who is apparently engaged to Nick Gordon, a 22-year-old who was informally adopted by Houston 10 years ago. And as this preview clip shows, Bobbi Kristina’s family isn’t exactly thrilled when they hear the news:
UPDATE: A rep for Bobbi Kristina tells CNN that the two aren’t engaged, but adds, “You have to watch the show!!!!”
Sugar Ray lead singer Mark McGrath and longtime girlfriend Carin Kingsland got married Monday in Southern California, People reports. The pair got engaged on New Year’s Eve 2009; McGrath proposed at the L.A. club the Viper Room — the spot where they met in 1994.
“After 18 years of breakups, makeups, beautiful twins and an unwavering love that provided some pretty damn good song lyrics, we are happy to announce that we are finally married!” the rocker, 44, and his bride, 39, told People. Their 2-year-old son Lydon and daughter Hartley served as the ring bearer and flower girl.
The former Celebrity Apprentice contestant and Don’t Forget the Lyrics! game show host will embark on a South American tour with Sugar Ray in October.
