This Week's Cover: Fall Movie Preview!

In this week’s issue of Entertainment Weekly, the stars of November’s The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn — Part 1 discuss how they approached key scenes in the film, from the tense walk down the aisle to the pillow-shredding honeymoon, to the bloody, ghastly climax. But you don’t have to be a Twihard to enjoy EW’s Fall Movie Preview, which dishes on the biggest and best films opening before the end of the year. Some highlights:

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’s stars talk about adapting the massive bestseller to the screen, and Rooney Mara, who plays Lisbeth Salander, discusses the risqué, topless ad for the film that recently caused a stir.

Brad Pitt reveals the particular challenges of turning Michael Lewis’ 2003 book Moneyball into a movie. “Listen, we’re dealing with economics, we’re dealing with [statistics-driven] sabermetrics, we’re dealing with things that are not necessarily dramatic cinematically and palatable for an audience. Even Michael Lewis said to us, ‘Sure, I’ll sell you the rights. I don’t know how you’re going to make a movie out of it…’”  READ FULL STORY

'Twilight' at Comic-Con 2011: Talking to the fans at Camp Breaking Dawn

Tomorrow, Twilight is hosting a presentation in Comic-Con’s massive Hall H for the upcoming first edition of Breaking Dawn. But fans were already camped out in anticipation for the Twilight panel days ago. Walking through Camp Breaking Dawn can feel a bit like meandering through a candy-colored Hooverville, with various forms of bedding (sleeping bags, towels, foldable chairs, inflatable pool toys) spread in every direction.

The six-person team at the head of the line arrived on Monday morning. READ FULL STORY

Which geek-tastic 2012 film are you most excited for? Vote in our poll!

We’re becoming increasingly impatient, PopWatchers: There’s still 14 excruciatingly long days until 2011′s Comic-Con kicks off. Of course, that’s small peanuts compared to the seemingly impossibly far off release dates of the most highly-anticipated flicks of 2012. Granted, we don’t know which of these geek out-worthy films will be making their way to San Diego (The Hunger Games, for one, has already announced it will not attend the convention), but that doesn’t mean we’re not already overly eager for what’s ahead.

Just like us, EW.com readers went absolutely crazy over the stills for Peter Jackson’s treatment of The Hobbit, so we can only imagine the hysteria that will surround the entire film itself. Of course, when it comes to mania, the countdown to the conclusion of the Twilight saga (Breaking Dawn — Part 2) and the beginning of The Hunger Games may not be rivaled. But tell us, PopWatchers, is it the reboots of beloved franchises (Superman: Man of Steel, The Amazing Spider-Man), follow-ups (The Dark Knight Rises, Men in Black 3) or Bond, Bond 23, that has you the most stoked for the new year?

Patience, you are one tricky virtue. Vote in our poll below, and head to our Comic-Con hub for all things related to the convention come July 20! READ FULL STORY

What was your favorite MTV Movie Awards moment? Poll!

Kevin Mazur/WireImage.com

Another MTV Movie Awards, another chance for Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart to pretend they’re not dating.

What was your favorite moment from last night? If you’re going to be coy, you have to be clever, like Pattinson laying his celebratory Best Kiss pucker on Taylor Lautner instead of Stewart. It gets my vote. Poll below!  READ FULL STORY

MTV Movie Awards 2011: On the scene for all the wackiness at L.A.'s Gibson Amphitheatre

EW’s Archana Ram already recapped what you saw on television during last night’s Twilight Promotional Show MTV Movie Awards (and asked for your thoughts, too!), but what happened in the house during the always wacky ceremony at L.A.’s Gibson Ampitheatre? Oh, so much, folks — so much! And I’ve got those deets for you, as I was there to experience the madness first hand. There’s lots to talk about: The insane fashions! The beautiful stage! The speech that charmed the crowd! And so much more, but mostly — let’s be honest — it was all just one big plug for Twilight. Read on for a take of what went on behind the scenes, what you didn’t see on your television last night…

Lee Pace cast in 'The Hobbit.' Our hopes for his comeback grow

It looks like the part of me that’s been hoping to see Lee Pace back on TV soon might be waiting quite a while. This weekend, Peter Jackson announced via Facebook that the Pushing Daisies alum had been cast as Elven King Thranduil in The Hobbit. “Casting these Tolkien stories is very difficult, especially the Elven characters, and Lee has always been our first choice for Thranduil,” Jackson wrote. “We loved his performance in a movie called The Fall a few years ago, and have been hoping to work with him since.” READ FULL STORY

This Week's Cover: First look at the 'Twilight' finale!

Fans have waited years to see Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson) tie the knot, and the wedding scene, scheduled for the end of production on The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, proved to be equally climactic for those involved. “It was one of the coolest things that I’ve done,” says Stewart. “There was a certain point when I walked on set, and I saw everyone from the entire cast sitting there in the pews, about to do their bit. And it was just so perfect for me in that moment. It was so emotional in such a real way. I literally felt like thanking them for coming.”

But filming wasn’t always quite so idyllic. READ FULL STORY

This Week's Cover: Robert Pattinson Moves Beyond 'Twilight'

Twilight-fans, take heart: Robert Pattinson is every bit as good-looking and thick-maned as he appears onscreen. But don’t confuse him with his brooding characters — the 24-year-old actor is surprisingly open, chatty, and quick to laugh. Pattinson talked with EW last week about his upcoming film Water for Elephants (in theaters April 22), in which he plays a traveling-circus veterinarian who falls for the show’s star attraction, played by Reese Witherspoon. He also discussed what his future might look like once he’s finished with Twilight. “You can never really predict what an audience wants or how to maintain a career,” he says, “other than doing what you think is cool.” But, Pattinson laughs, “Generally, what I think is cool is what everyone else hates.”  READ FULL STORY

Could this actress be Renesmee in 'Breaking Dawn'?

Could Christie Burke be the lucky young lady tapped to play a grown-up version of Renesmee in The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn? The Internet was abuzz today with the news that the young teen has been cast as an older version of the tiny Bella-Edward spawn, long rumored to be played by 9-year-old Mackenzie Foy. There isn’t a lot of information available on Burke, aside from some commercial credits (Wrigleys!), a guest star role on Tower Prep, and small parts in a couple of movies. (Also listed under special skills: Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, Water Skiing, Snowboarding, Gymnastics, Track & Field & Improvisation. And yet nothing about falling in love with certain muscular werewolves!)

When reached by EW, the studio declined to comment, but what do you think PopWatchers? Do you think Burke as the right look for the part?
