'Scandal' star Bellamy Young reacts live on TV to Critics' Choice Awards

Score one for Drunk Mellie.

Scandal actress Bellamy Young, who portrays First Lady Mellie Grant on ABC’s crazy hit drama, was scheduled to appear on Los Angeles’ KTLA earlier today. Because the Critics’ Choice nominations had just been announced, the anchors asked Young to help them out with reading the names on air — briefly hiding from her that she herself had been nominated as well.

When they reveal that she also scored a nod, she’s obviously overwhelmed and thrilled. And this reaction is way better than the “Oh, I even forgot nominations were happening today!” response that celebs are so fond of. Watch below: READ FULL STORY

Shonda Rhimes, John Ridley, and more tell us their favorite TV finales at ABC/EW Upfronts party

Stars of current hits like Scandal and Nashville mingled with the stars of ABC’s next crop of shows Tuesday night at ABC and EW’s upfronts party in New York. More importantly, we spotted Scandal’s Tony Goldwyn giving showrunner Shonda Rhimes a loving kiss on the top of her head. Typical Fitz; make us swoon, why don’t you?

ABC’s new series include Rhimes’ college-set How to Get Away With Murder and Oscar winner John Ridley’s American Crime. The new shows aren’t all crime dramas though — Cristela, a sitcom that follows a law student and her Mexican-American family, and Black-ish, a comedy about a family’s relationship with racial and cultural identity, are just a couple of the more lighthearted options ABC will be rolling out later this year.

Although the event was all about new beginnings, in the spirit of finale season, we asked stars of ABC’s current and upcoming ABC shows about their favorite TV endings. The Sopranos and M*A*S*H were popular choices for all-time favorite finales, but there were some surprises too — read on to see who chose Golden Girls as their top pick:

'Scandal' debate: How does your 'shipper heart feel about Olivia/Fitz?

Spoiler Alert: Do not read this if you have not watched Thursday’s episode of Scandal, ”A Woman Scorned.”

In a perfect world Olivia and Fitz would end up together. I understand this and I will not fight you ‘shippers. I am one of you, but I’m growing concerned about where this relationship is headed.
