Anna Chlumsky talks her Broadway debut and the next season of 'Veep'

Before Anna Chlumsky’s comic timing returns to television in the fourth season of Veep in April, it is making its debut on the Broadway stage in You Can’t Take It with You.

Chlumsky stepped into the James Earl Jones-starring production of George S. Kaufman and Moss Hart’s 1936 play Tuesday. EW spoke to Chlumsky, who had just wrapped the her HBO show, last week about jumping into the cast, coming to Broadway, and President Selina Meyer. You Can’t Take It with You runs through Feb. 22.

But, she adds, laughing, “By the end of the season, we still don’t know if she’s any good at that.”

There’s a new episode of Veep tonight at 10 p.m. ET on HBO, but we’re starting the laughs early with Chlumsky. She recently stopped by EW to take our Pop Culture Personality Test and revealed her most prized pop culture possession, the TV marathon that always sucks her in, the TV moment that made her cry, when she yells at the TV, and the collectibles from her childhood she wishes she still had.
