I have never, ever read nasty, tacky comments like the ones here. David's fans aren't like that. I mean there's a bad apple in every barrel, but the horrific, snotty and insulting stuff you're reading here--not from Archuleta fans, trust me. I can't count the bazillion hours I've spent reading/researching/watching anything and everything Archuleta, and I've never seen anything like this--ever. David is respectful and kind, accepting of everyone. The people drawn to him are of a similar ilk.

As JC Chasez of NSYNC who worked with him said, "David's voice is out of this world". Plus, he is as endearing and gorgeous a human being as God ever made, the soul of integrity and kindness. Love him dearly.

I don't think Sleazak intended to be hurtful towards David, but he needs to have a lot of hits and mentioning David is the way to get them...easier than writing a meaningful article.

I've said my piece. I love David to distraction. I'm not coming back here again. I'm done.

I love the song, and enjoy the video. I think the director could have done a better job, but oh well. David's vocals are great, and he imbues the song with lots of emotion like every song he ever sings. That's who he is. He loses himself in the song.

I'm a HUGE fan. I've travelled over 7,200 miles to hear him sing three times and am excited for his upcoming tour. I'm going to two concerts. Another 1,300 miles but well worth it. Paula was right. David is destined to be a superstar, no doubt!

I strongly believe that the nasty comments on this thread are being made by trolls. Hopefully, Cook doesn't have such low class fans, but I'd bet the farm they aren't Archuleta fans. I read at David A's fan sites several times every single day, and I have NEVER, EVER

So...Slezak isn't entitled to his own opinions? And why are so many of you bringing Cook into this? Both guys are class acts, and there is no reason to make this into a competition. I am a Cook fan, but think Light On is one of the weaker tracks on the CD and am surprised other songs weren't released sooner. As far as Archie, his songs are doing well, do really well with a certain audience, and that still doesn't mean Slezak doesn't get to comment. It's his column, peeps, so if you don't like it, DON'T READ IT, but don't try to censor him. Go write your own column if this bugs you so much.

I have subscribed to Entertainment Weekly magazine for years and look at the website frequently. I have enjoyed both of them. What I don't enjoy looking at .... after glancing at the comments on this page .... is that Entertainment Weekly allows such destructive comments about both idol contestants (the Davids....) There is enough crazy things going on in the world without seeing this. I would recommend you remove the nasty ones. American Idol 8 is coming up and hopefully their fan base won't be like this.

I find this entertaining. Never before have the entertainment media and the producers of American Idol favored any contestant as strongly and openly as they favored David Cook. Now, seven months later, they still cannot let go of the competition, because they need to work really hard to make Cook's album outsell Archuleta's album. With all the publicity money can buy, Cook's album has sold 715,000 copies so far. Archuleta's album has sold 530,000 copies with much less promotion. Michael Slezak! I would have hoped by now that, in your profession, you could be open minded and unbiased. Enough time has passed since Idol that David Archuleta's name & tremendous talent now stands on its own! You have never reported fairly when it comes to David, so I'm not quite so sure why I would expect it now! I just think it's sad that you are still considered a reputable journalist!...but not in my eyes. The video is great and the artist is outstanding. He doesn't need your approval, so why not just go find another "striving" artist to write about...oh, wait...American Idol is right around the corner...so you will have your pick of many unfortunates...good luck. I, for one, will not be reading what you have to say next time around.

wow! Not one mention of David Cook in your article, but look how many archies managed to throw ugly words out there about him. It really makes them look silly to say cook is a loser when he has sold 200,000 more copies of his cd in a weeks less time. Both boys are doing great so leave it like that. David Cook is a little too corny for my taste, but Slezak should really concentrate on promoting his favorite, because Cook needs all the help he can get. His record company is getting him all the publicity money can buy, but that doesn't seem to be enough to sell records and get the huge investment back.
