What should happen in the 'Sex and the City' sequel?

Nov 7, 2008, 07:30 AM | by Mandi Bierly

Categories: 'Sex and the City', Deals, Film

Satcpreview_l Kim Cattrall has confirmed, on a British talk show with guest host Mel B., that a Sex and the City sequel is a go. (Watch the interview here.) While the actresses finalize their deals, Slezak and I thought we'd start the brainstorming session. First our suggestions for story lines, then yours.

• Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Big (Chris Noth): Big loses his money in the current economic crisis, and Carrie's career goes from Vogue to PopWatch a blog. They're forced to reevaluate their priorities and discover happiness isn't just a walk-in closet.

Samantha (Cattrall): Her PR career takes a nosedive, and she tries to revive her fortunes through a Bravo-style reality show called PR Lady. (She also admits that she could've stayed in Los Angeles with Smith -- and just not worked for him -- because other people in Hollywood have, in fact, been known to need publicists.)

Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Steve (David Eigenberg): Having seem them deal with marital issues in the first film, we want these two to be happy....We also want Miranda to become involved at Brady's school, coaching soccer (even though she's never played soccer) and facing off with other moms at PTA.

Charlotte (Kristin Davis) and Harry (Evan Handler): After extension discussion, and remembering that Charlotte kinda bores us, we decided that she needs serious drama. At first, we thought health scare, which would lead to a nice Samantha-Charlotte moment. (Samantha feeding Carrie in bed was one of my favorite moments in the first film.) But then, we thought about how underused Harry was in that movie, and we determined that he should just go ahead and die offscreen in the sequel. If you make it a random act of violence in Manhattan, you not only get Charlotte losing her hard-fought happy ending, but also all four women suddenly angry with the show's fifth lady, New York. Imagine a sobbing Charlotte telling Samatha that unlike her, she didn't choose to go life alone. And Samantha telling Charlotte she doesn't have to. Tissues, please.

Your turn.

omg cannot wait for this sequel.. loved the first movie even more than i loved the series!! i expect such huge things, but big might not do the movie?! read all about the 2nd one here http://tinyurl.com/satcmovie :) xo jessi

These are the only plausible plotlines... Carrie and Big either get pregnant, Big revisits his heart trouble issues, and/or Carrie's career is mirrored with it being made into a movie (in the movie). Samantha's cancer revisits (which will of course affect all the girls), Miranda has another child, and Charlotte's baby or adopted child is diagnosed with an illness of some-sort.

LauraWashDC Fri, Mar 20, 2009 at 10:10 PM EST

I am so ready for an SATC sequel! Be fair to Smith--the real Smith would never have let Samantha walk out the door. He loved her! Do NOT kill Harry. I will not support the movie if you do! Miranda clearly needs another baby, however Carrie is not the mothering type. I like the idea of going back at the beginning to show how they got to know one another & how about their previous lives--their parents, friends, college experiences--those awkward 20 something moments? There is a lot to explore in that area. Aidan should stay married with a baby, far, far away from Carrie. We finally got Big & Carrie married--let's let them be happy for once! Charlotte needs some drama, but Harry would never have a wandering eye--stick to the character of the characters people! And these ladies are getting a little older--are 50 year olds (Samantha) still bed hopping? That isn't fun to think about, even though she is fabulous. Keep it real--at the end of the day in SATC, it's about love and relationships.

Sara LeTourneau Fri, Mar 13, 2009 at 01:30 AM EST

i dont think harry should die due to the two kids, carrie should be pregnet, samatha should bump into richard and they get married . those girls are so creative the movie will be great no matter what we know the characters well enough we can picture and make out our own endings:-)!!!

Chadeigh Wed, Mar 11, 2009 at 12:39 PM EST

I cant wait for a SATC sequel, this show is incredible. I dont think i could ever get enough of SATC. I love watching the tv series over and over.
I want to see Carrie meet Aiden in this movie, and some sparks fly. I also want to see more of Steve Brady, hes so amazing

Christina Thu, Feb 26, 2009 at 04:40 PM EST

No no no, You can not make anything happen to Charlotte or her Family. Does anyone realize all she has gone through already. Why can't she have a happy ending. OMG!!! And what's with the rude comments, you people need to grow up!
I love the show and loved the movie, but think this is one to leave alone. I will be there for the first showing, but I think it's better left alone!!

susy Wed, Feb 18, 2009 at 02:02 PM EST

i could NOT be more excited! own the tv series & the movie, it's my favorite! i watched it in high school & it shaped the women i am today! i'd LOVE to see the second movie, if all the orgional characters return. :)

SITC Fan Fri, Feb 13, 2009 at 12:19 PM EST

Con't - I think Charlotte should catch Harry in a compromising position which causes problems - then maybe a car accident involving Charlotte and the kids where Trey gets involved making Harry realize she is the love of his life.

Miranda/Steve - Miranda has a high profile case where a drunk leaves Steve's bar causing a wreck. This could be Charlotte's accident comes in at. What a story line that would be - does Miranda take Steve's bar's side or does she side with Charlotte? - In walks Aiden.... That would bring them all together.... This would be Miranda's chance to show us just how good of a lawyer she is.

So many interesting plots - I'm sure they will come up with something!

SITC Fan Fri, Feb 13, 2009 at 12:07 PM EST

Love the show but we watch it because it brings laughter to our lives so this is what I think should happend:

Carrie/Big - She finally has her dream man - we waited how many years to see them together. You should leave them together. I think a real power struggle between she and Big would be great. She needs to be head at Vogue and IN demand. Can Big compete with her work demands? Have their dream apartment/house with a big walk in closet. Maybe Big should have a heart attach. Better yet - Alexander should dedicate a piece of artwork to Carrie and drive Big nuts!

Samatha - I think a jealous Samatha would be exciting! Maybe Smith comes back with a new lady (trying to win her back) and it drives her totally crazy! that is a side of Samatha we have never seen before. What would she do to get Smith back to finally realize they belong together?

Charlotte/Harry - Leave Harry in the show....he is awesome! I think Charlotte having her own art gallary is an awesome idea.

Meg Fri, Feb 13, 2009 at 11:02 AM EST

maybe making the sequel a prequel showing how they met

molly6342 Sun, Feb 8, 2009 at 01:17 PM EST

continued....so Charlotte and Harry need to sell their home and buy something cheaper, enter Bunny MacDougall. This also leaves Charlotte no choice but to return to work. Standford and Marcus decide to get married and they hire that "bitchy queen" Anthony to help plan it for them.

molly6342 Sun, Feb 8, 2009 at 01:04 PM EST

continued...while Samantha's battling her cancer again, Smith appears, I do think they deserve to be together, not everyone has to be married to be in a committed relationship and contrary to what's being said, Samantha ALWAYS practiced safe sex first of all, secondly she remained faithful to Smith, she could actually have some guilty feelings the first time she tries with someone else and realize that Smith is the one. As for Miranda and Steve, I agree they need another baby so give them a set of twins. And because Steve's bar is doing so well, Miranda decides to retire to become a full time mom. Aidan could also be brought into it somehow because he is after all, Steve's silent partner. I also like the idea of Lily's biological parents showing up too and causing them grief. And if Aiden needs a divorce, well Harry is a divorce lawyer. Charlotte's way too materialistic, if someone should have financial problems, she's the one who needs that wake up call.

molly6342 Sun, Feb 8, 2009 at 12:52 PM EST

Carrie/Big aren't the parenting type. They need to remain as godfather/godmother or special aunt/uncle to everyone else's kids. Having Big lose his fortune would only show that he's an idiot where finances are concerned and all thru out the series, that's one thing he was not, he may have dumb where love was concerned but not his finances. Despite what's being said there are some couples who can actually go thru life with arguments and still survive it by remaining together. Let them travel and be happy for a change. I do however think they all need a shake up and as much as I love the character Samantha, I think a recurring bought of her cancer might be in order. I also like the suggestion of showing how the 4 ladies actually met would be good too. So either at her scariest time in the hospital or even at her funeral, a few flashbacks from how they all got together might be good.

I agree with the possible stories on the original post apart from charlottes storyline. I think losing her husband would be too much of a crushing blow to her for the other leading ladies to help her back from. In its place i think that her newborn daughter Rose should be diagnosed with a type of (Not TOO severe) disability and her storyline is her struggling to accept it.

Champerz1 Tue, Jan 6, 2009 at 10:20 PM EST

I really want the sequel to have how the girls originally got together and met!! That would make for a FANTASTIC ending. Because i know many people that are wondering the same question i have.... hiw did 4 such different people get together!!!

rania Thu, Dec 25, 2008 at 03:02 PM EST

Carrie is pregnant! Big is afraid of becoming a father and leaves Carrie, who finds compassion and support in Aiden. After Big understands his fault he returns and asks Carrie to forgive him but now he has to try harder to win her back. Aiden is a strong competitor, who is willing to raise Carrie's baby like one of his own.

Fri, Dec 12, 2008 at 10:08 PM EST

It's time for Samantha to get in and keep a serious relationship. Her sleeping around is getting old; it's time to grow up. Smith was good for her.

It's time for Carrie to have a baby. Perhaps the story could be that she and Big don't want children - but find themselves pregnant and something makes them realize how much they want and need a baby.

Charotte - perhaps a parent/child struggle would serve her well and the threat of Harry leaving her.

I would like to see Miranda become interested in someone but just when you think she'll cross the line - she doesn't, yet - I would like to see her fall a little off that high horse.

Keshia-SITC Top Fan Fri, Nov 28, 2008 at 02:12 PM EST

I believe the movie should not loose the very essence that has made us fall in love with SITC.

1.Yes!! Samantha should go back to her care free, sex loving ways but maybe Smith doesn’t take their break up lying down
2.It’s about time Carrie lives happy ever after but as a twist the commitment phobic Big now wants a baby but Carrie is the fearful one. Maybe Aiden can give show an appearance (I loved Aiden).
3.Charlotte now has it all but maybe not…does her husband have a roaming eye or is he just focused on providing for his family.
4. Miranda has another baby …if any one remembers the first time she was pregnant, that enough said.

Lisa Thu, Nov 20, 2008 at 12:48 PM EST

The Carry/Big being affected by the economic crisis is realistic, as is samantha and miranda. But def do not agree with killing charlotte's husband! something else could occur, such as another man coming in the pic, harry becoming way too busy as a lawyer. jeez don't kill the poor guy. :-)

SJP Sun, Nov 16, 2008 at 10:54 AM EST

I like the idea of just exploring the comic ups and downs of marriage between Carrie and Big, Miranda and Steve, and Charlotte and Harry. Samantha can be out there as the single girl doing what she does best. They should play up the comedy more this time IMO.

Jenn Fri, Nov 14, 2008 at 07:44 PM EST

Here are my ideas:
1. Carrie and Big should be tested by needing a serogate to carry their baby.. which turns out to be twins...
2. Miranda Will be the serogate mother for carrie and Big, which then gets steve talking about them having a baby of their own... While giving birth mirnada should have a severe episode of hemorrhaging that brings the group together.
3. Harry is forced to sue Mr. BIg by one of his ex-wifes, which causes a temporary rift between carrie and Charlotte.
4. Samantha should return to her sex-a-holic ways but then realize that she needs more than sex in her life... and she should change from PR to wedding planner to the stars because she is focused on love and sex. Not just sex....ooo.. and smith shows up in NYC in dramatic fashion! :)

KL Wed, Nov 12, 2008 at 06:09 PM EST

Oh yeah. "The End."

KL Wed, Nov 12, 2008 at 06:06 PM EST

A sequal will be very problematic, since the series was about revolving new boyfriend material and the movie was already about relationship problems - who wants a rehash of those? So obviously roles need to be switched, maybe unlikely "bed fellows" Samantha and Charlotte end up playing fast and loose with the boys, while the other two fumble with comic story lines about the ups and downs of married life. The movie could end with them all movin away to more liveable cities as would likely happen in real life anyway, they are not in their 20s/30s anymore after which the NY club lifestyle and the throwing money away on rent loses it's appeal.

Big is Hot Wed, Nov 12, 2008 at 03:42 PM EST

Ever thine, ever mine, ever ours... Big and Carrie are soul-mates so they should still be together, happily married and have an unplanned baby. Samantha enjoys the single life again, Charlotte and Harry have some kind of big issue to deal with. Steve and Miranda start a business together.

Lovely Wed, Nov 12, 2008 at 12:24 PM EST

The sequel should be about Carrie and Big being happy. There has been enough drama for them. Charlotte and Harry having problems when Charlotte and Trey have a moment in the hospital while taking her dauther to the emmergany room for an acciendent. Samantha should go back to the only man she really ever loved, a very different Smith. Richard should come back. Aidan should make an appearance as a divorce father. And Miranda and Steve could be contimplating moving away for the city.

Designerchick Tue, Nov 11, 2008 at 08:32 PM EST

Hmmm I'd love to see a sequel, but I want Carrie and Big to stay happily married, no more splitting up drama. Maybe a kid for them. Miranda and Steve need to stay together too. Charlotte and Harry should lose their money and see a bit of the hard life. What about a return of Richard for Samantha, then she could realize what she lost with Smith.

KayKay Tue, Nov 11, 2008 at 01:04 PM EST

Just as long as Carrie and Big stay together I'll be happy. Please don't break them up! Maybe Smith could come back to NY. Kill off Harry. Miranda and Steve?

cosmogurl Tue, Nov 11, 2008 at 09:30 AM EST

I like the idea of Big losing his job/money, but it brings him and Carrie closer. I'd also like to see Carrie and Big have a baby. Samantha should be back to her man eating self. Miranda should struggle with the fear of turning into a soccer mom. And Charlotte and Harry should split up to create drama.

Shopgal Mon, Nov 10, 2008 at 11:02 PM EST

I think in the sequal Carrie should find out that shes pregant, Big gets scared of the idea of being a father but in the end he loves it. I think that Samantha should meet someone other than Richard or Smith, someone who is exactly like her and shocks everyone(even herself) by eloping with him. Charlotte should start her own art gallery.

SATC Fan Mon, Nov 10, 2008 at 04:01 PM EST

Please bring back Aiden!! Have Big cheat on Carrie...and she goes back to Aiden. And please no killing off Harry. I love him and Charlotte together.

joyce Mon, Nov 10, 2008 at 03:15 AM EST

whatever the end in the movie, it is a good movie. do not be sad. smith will come back to see samantha.
but, i do not trust mr big. he hurted carrie so many times, when next time?

Phhhh… Sun, Nov 9, 2008 at 10:08 PM EST

some people here have realy not understood some aspects of the series. carrie is not the type of girl who wants to become a mom. they've been clear about that several times. and samantha isn't the type of woman who's going to get married or even settle down.

Claudia Sun, Nov 9, 2008 at 08:14 PM EST

I would like to see Aiden come back. Perhaps to furnish Carrie's new apartment, and spark up some old feelings, but they never really fall into an affair, although close enough. Samantha needs Richard back. Miranda needs another child...u know the one ball and the one lazy ovary make another surprise baby. Charlotte and Harry try to spice up thier sex life since middle age is starting to creep up on Harry and Charlotte needs to start to act outside the box, and get creative to keep her man content at all times, so she goes to Samantha for help. It should end w/ Carry and Big having their first child.

I Want More Sun, Nov 9, 2008 at 09:30 AM EST

I love the shows wit and seemingly real emotion. The movie was too weepy. That being said I would like more of the girls if the movie were to be fun. And more cameos from the show (Aiden, Marcus, Richard, Bunny)

Samantha needs to settle down.

Antonia Sun, Nov 9, 2008 at 02:42 AM EST

I really don't care what the rest of the women do, I only ever watched this show for James Remar, so Samantha really needs to get back with Richard and treat him right this time.

Mary Sun, Nov 9, 2008 at 12:59 AM EST

As much as I loved the series and the first movie, I really wish they wouldn't make another movie. I can see them milking this franchise long past when it should have been laid to rest, which be unfortunate. Please, leave us wanting more instead of dragging the story on forever!

Winner Sun, Nov 9, 2008 at 12:31 AM EST

My dream plot? Let's see...
The film starts on a beautiful New York day. Sixty seconds in, the girls walk out of a trendy New York bar and are hit by a bus.
Credits roll.
Ten dollars are wasted from everyone who still watches Sex and the City.
I go about my day.

Loni Sat, Nov 8, 2008 at 08:37 PM EST

Miranda: I like what they wrote-I think it would be great to see her being a typical "soccer mom" and I also think she should have another baby-and they should make it a girl.
Samantha: I don't really care.
Charlotte: what ever the do please don't kill off Harry-I Love them!
Carrie: I'm sure what ever they do w/ her will be good.
the writes of sex and the city are great...and i think whatever they do will be great!

I would love to see another movie. But I think they should have carrie become a mother and show charlotte as a mom with a carreer. And to have Samatha really fall in love and get married. And Miranda and steve have another baby while Miranda could do that stuff for bradys school

Sina Sat, Nov 8, 2008 at 12:49 AM EST

I HATED the movie so this sequel has to be great to make up for such a horrible movie. First Samantha can't go on being a 50 year old ho! She has to grow up. Since she left the only man who ever loved her (he shaved his head for her!) let her get back with Richard. I would love to see her try to make it with him and they get married. Let Harry and Miranda open up a law office together. Then Charlotte and Steve start to get jealous and upset that Harry and Miranda are spending so much time together and are getting close. Let Big go though some finacial problems and he starts to close up on Carrie and not talk to her about his problems and Carrie starts to deal with Big closing his heart to her again. Also I want to see Brady and Charlotte's daughter playing together. They are the same age, let them bond. But it has to be less Carrie. She ruined the first movie. And WHERE IS STANFORD'S BOYFRIEND MARCUS! He better be in the sequel.

Valerie Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 10:46 PM EST

OMG, I'd totally watch that !

robred Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 08:42 PM EST

Movies dont kill fairytales so Carrie and Big are together to stay. So then the only big enough, life-changing event to build a movie around is for Carrie to have a baby. At her age, there will be some issues for her to get there, they just have to be careful not to repeat Charlotte storylines. There will have to be some work/mother conflict obviously as well. I guarantee this will be the major plot of the film.

jake Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 08:00 PM EST

I thought the movie was perfect in its plot, but def serious like in real life. It was typical of Big to get cold feet and just like in life every woman wants that perfect wedding while most men don't really care that much. In the sequel I owuld like to see Carrie get pregnant and try to become a mom! www.hotmenwanted.com

Mikey M Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 07:18 PM EST

Enjoyed the first movie but it wasnt fun like the TV show. You had all these dramatic subplots that dragged the movie down. Big and Carries wedding and him getting cold feet, then Carrie being in a bad mood the rest of the movie. Mirandas Marriage in trouble. Tooooo deep.
Oh and dont have Samantha commuting the whole movie from LA to NYC.
More sexy bottomless Men too.

Mary Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 06:57 PM EST

I actually like the guys in this movie better than the women, even though I adore Charlotte. If any of the guys were to get killed off, I would hate it. Actually, I would let Mr. Big go before any of the other three. I was so sad when Samantha and Smith broke up in the movie, but I guess I could see that it was for the best. Although I don't even know why they made a movie to begin with (let alone now a second one) because I loved the series finale so much.

monica Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 06:23 PM EST

I love the idea of Carrie starting a blog, cause her advice needs a technological update. I want the Samantha + Smith story revived and given proper attention. Samantha should've never been portrayed as needy--that was crap. She could make Smith jealous while working the press with her other clients, and she could vindictively steal all of his parts for them, cause if there's one thing she does best, it's be a b*tch. lol I don't know about Miranda, but Charlotte should face the issue with trying to make her adopted daughter feel like apart of the family and fighting off racism from Upper East racists--cause you know they exist.

Shannon S. Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 05:45 PM EST

As much as I'd like to see a sequel, I have to agree with a few posters here and question if there SHOULD be a sequel. Could they really tell another compelling story now that everyone's settled down into their daily lives? I couldn't handle another Big/Carrie breakup, Miranda and Steve are boring when they're happy, and Samantha acting like a frisky cougar at age 55 doesn't really appeal that much to me. Maybe it's best to leave it alone...the first movie was great, we might not get so lucky the second time.

English Teacher Supporter Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 05:43 PM EST

Thank you, English Teacher. I am glad to know that I am not the only child who spent evenings reading the newspaper with his mother and red pens in hand.

M Weyer Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 04:58 PM EST

What I'd like is extended flashbacks showing how the girls all met and became friends. Imagine them in late 1980's/early '90's fashions.

smaz314 Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 04:56 PM EST

We don't need a SATC sequel...the movie was plenty and they had a difficult time sustaining even those storylines. I love the series but honestly what else is there to put up on screen for 2 hours?

Sara Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 04:37 PM EST

I did love the first movie, but it didn't feel like New York because the girls were always seperate. More scenes ALL girls together, shopping, eating, etc please.

stiffy Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 04:30 PM EST

Charlotte: after gettting a gastro-intestinial virus on vacation, she never gets rid of it and has to be diagnoised at NYC medical center for constant testing
Miranda: has a breakdown and is briefly institutionalize with guest stars as her roommates (Mariah, Angelina Jolie, Anne Heche)
Samantha: contracts several STD's along with HIV and is taking the dreaded 'cocktail' daily to continue her partying lifestyle
Carrie: After Big leaves her again, she becomes a wailing alcholic, dyes her hair purple and orange, shoplifts regularly, and loses her job. She then works at a local adult bookstore(moonlighting with her erotic writing) with a part-time job at the local Sally Beauty Supply Shop near Queens!
All their gay freinds stand by them and have all the sex instead.

K2 Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 04:25 PM EST

what if Big had a number of one night stands during their time apart.....one produces a child whose mother is not able to care for the baby.

I would hate to see something happens to Harry. I think that one of the children should go through a major health crisis instead that leads them to having to sell their apartment and downscale to pay for treatments. Samantha should start an affair with a now married SMITH! Steve should take more responsibilities with managing the household and Miranda needs to finally learn to let go of control (always the issue with her).

josh Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 04:08 PM EST

Ok....Carrie gets a higher position at Vogue, and becomes this go-to girl of fashion, adopts a child, lives within her means.

Miranda loses her job as a lawyer, due to lay-offs(economy trouble), and becomes a stay-at-home mom, and gets pregnant again.

Charlotte opens her very own gallery, and becomes not just a mom anymore, and jumps back into art once again.
Harry and she battle for equality in their marriage, but she convinces him it's for the best.

Samantha realizes that she has to cut corners at her firm, and takes terrible clients that can afford her. So she doesn't have to close down, her quick P.R. wit revamps her business, and she proves to be a P.R. powerhouse. Smith moves to New York to get his girl back.

Stanford and Anthony are married and adopt a child, and this will create hilarious scenes.

Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 03:59 PM EST

I'd like Samantha and Smith to get back together, and other than that, whatever the plot is, I want it focused on the 4 girls, with lots of scenes of them together.

Rose Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 03:50 PM EST

Smith comes back, and he has a new girlfriend. She is played by me. ...That's all I've got so far, but I've got some really compelling storyboards.

(I may love these girls, but a sequel is not a good idea, y/n?)

darkknight Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 03:24 PM EST

My dream plot...they fall fall into a giant hole which leads to the inferno that is the center of the earth and they all burn to a crisp. The End.

Glenda Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 03:17 PM EST

Or another suggestion:

-Carrie: She leaves Big because she realizes that she just does not want to be married. She writes about it " Marriage: Myth or Mistake" in her column while she mulls a seperation or divorce.

-Samantha: She goes into business with Anthony Marintino and Stanford Blatch. (PR meets fashion consultant(s) with the stars)

-Charlotte: Endures every adopted mothers nightmare, Lily's birth parents want their daughter back and stated that the mom thought she signed papers for temporary custody.

-Miranda: who always has it together leaves everyone because of a mental breakdown. (demanding job, husband who cheated, child and housekeeper, who wouldn't need to get away!)

Glenda Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 02:48 PM EST

My suggestion for the sequel is:

Carrie: Carrie starts her own business (internet based and Jennifer Hudson returns to help her set-up), and it fails with no help from her Big(financially or otherwise) and she resents him and it causes a rift.

Samantha: Admits that she actually misses Smith (who wouldn't) and she asks him to marry her! And they seek In vitro to have a baby and realizes how fulfilling marriage can be.

Charlotte: Happy in her marriage but a bored housewife and finds comfort in a secret internet night life.

Miranda: Leaves everyone because of mental breakdown. (demanding job, husband who cheated, child and housekeeper, who wouldn't need to get away!)

I loved the movie! It was just a very long episode. When it turned to darker topics and emotions that just means it has DEPTH! Stick with that insipid Housewives schlock if you don't wanna see these characters realistically grow! Go SATC! I love you!!!

Anthony Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 02:13 PM EST

Love these ideas for the sequel and make sure that you copyright them. LOL! The Charlotte story-line would be a big twist in the second film. I agree that not just Harry but Charlotte as well were not well represented and the next film can make up for it. However, her scene in the street with BIG in the first film, Classic!

Jeremy Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 02:06 PM EST

I think Charlotte's daughter should get kidnapped for ransom (since she is wealthy) and she turns all vigilante trying to save her. The only other thing I want to see is more equal screen time. I know SJP is the lead but two-thirds of the last film were about her.

Michael Martinello Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 02:02 PM EST

Does anyone think they could make a full movie plot based on Carrie's missing wart? Big can use his political ties to track down the wart and make it confess to a consipiracy against Miranda and Stanford Blatch.

Cartman Rules!!! Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 02:00 PM EST

That skank Samantha (Kim Cattrall) should get HIV from unprotected sex!! No joke here, and I mean it. That would be real, would be a huge draw and she could demonstrate that life does not end with HIV! It would be a huge media thing and would deliver a huge finanical windfall for the production company and distribution partner. Outside of that, my second option would be no sequel!!!

Michael Martinello Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 01:58 PM EST

It is quite obvious that one of the main characters will die in the sequel. It will deal with how the remaining 3 will go on in life without their best friend. A supporting character death wouldn't rock the show too much, they need to kill off someone big. The last movie dealt having cold feet on your wedding day & a cheating husband. This new movie will deal with death in some manner and how the ladies deal with it. My money is on Samantha but that might be too easy of a pick.

Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 01:50 PM EST

how about a plot where they have to attempt to live in the real world? how about there isn't a sequel and get rid of the commercials on tv for the current movie now? save us from more sex in the city crap.

BLM Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 01:46 PM EST

I also HATED the movie (and I've seen every TV episode at least 3 times), so for them to make another God-awful sequal to the God-awful movie is ruining the TV series for me. Stop, just STOP! Big sucks, Carrie is dumb for going back to him over and over, Miranda it a beyotch, Samantha is too old, and Charlotte is boring. I can't stand these women now!

One word: Zombies.

steve Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 01:39 PM EST

I can't believe Carrie married 'Big' in the first place at the end after what he did to her at the altar!
I say make them all single again, lonely, aging, and getting no sex and retitle it 'No Sex in the City'!
Have the story lines about getting NONE (like being stood up, no dates at all, etc.), but in a comical way!

English Teacher Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 01:32 PM EST

Mandi, you need a proofreader. Typos, dear, typos!!

"Having seem them deal . . ." You mean SEEN

"After extension discussion . . . " You mean EXTENSIVE

You're welcome.

jones Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 01:28 PM EST

For me the best part of the movie was when the women helped Carrie deal with the aftermath of her non-wedding, especially the showdown between Carrie and Miranda. I really like Harry, although he was dreadfully underused in the movie, so I would hate to see him die. Big had heart issue before maybe he could have a health scare and Carrie could grow up and realize labels are not everything.

Wes Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 01:26 PM EST

They've got to be single again. The worst part of the movie was that no one had any sex. Not even Samantha. So, Steve cheats again, Miranda leaves him. Big dies. Harry's gay. There you go, four single ladies in the city, living it up.

Aiden Fan Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 01:26 PM EST

Okay, I'm ready for the outcry from everybody...but how about this scenerario----Big cheats on Carrie and she realizes him for the scum he is and she gets back with Aiden (who of course just got a divorce). I like Miranda as a soccer mom and getting involved with Brady's school. Charlotte and Harry need to become poor and forced to live in Queens. Samantha needs to continue being Samantha and continue having conquests everywhere..but then...BAM she ends up with Richard Wright and they get married and live happily ever after!

BA Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 01:17 PM EST

Love the Miranda take - and I agree that Charlotte needs some serious shake-up, though not less of Harry, who I love. illness of child? or are we tired of Charlotee and children? Maybe the health thing like you said?? but something has GOT to happen. That's just life.

Marnie Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 01:08 PM EST

How about all of you stop hating. If you dont wanna see the movie dont go.

Bruno the Dog Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 01:08 PM EST

Mr. Big owes the NJ mafia large, and Tony and crew go to town on these Big Apple worms. Hillarity ensues!

robin Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 01:02 PM EST

NO HONEY you are not alone, i am a HUGE fan of the series and the movie was simply awful. i wont be seeing the sequel.

LB Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 12:59 PM EST

agree with funkymono

dan Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 12:54 PM EST

Carrie finally undergoes surgery to have that horseface removed.

Bob Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 12:53 PM EST

All four ladies get marooned on a desert island and have to eat each other. After all, the writers pretty much cannibalized everything that was good about the TV show and sh!tted it out into the script.
Why are they even making a sequel? Enough is enough!

ALEX Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 12:45 PM EST

I WILL PAY THEM $5 NOT TO MAKE IT.

funkymono Fri, Nov 7, 2008 at 12:43 PM EST

I loved the series and the movie...except for the last 15 minutes, which wrapped things up a bit too tidily for me. But for that very reason, I think a sequel is a bad idea. The story is over; leave us with our DVDs and fond memories instead of risking the quality and legacy of a fantastic franchise.
