Is Britney practicing for Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards or working off her latest frappe?

Only time and repeat viewings (not recommended) will tell:

So, this looks somewhat promising...in that she bothered to show up for rehearsal. To be honest, I care less about what our newly toned chicken nugget's going to do than about how many random SAT words VMA host and vocabulary expert Russell Brand will throw out to a confused audience members. Fatuous. Histrionic. Inscrutable. Viscous. They could all apply! Intemperate. Okay, maybe not.

If you're game, shake that ass back here on Sunday (9/8 Central) for PopWatch's VMAs live blog -- brought to you by Adrienne Day, Simon Vozick-Levinson, and the letters W, T, and F.

Mike, I agree with you, it is a disgrace that it is allowed. I am sure the MTV execs would respond differently if it were their families and children that were cast into the public light to be mocked and ridiculed.

iam disgusted that MTV would allow this low life russell brand to express political veiws live and tell america to vote for obama when first of all he isnt even from this country. and how MTV allows this man to host there show after he was fired for dressing as osama bib laden on his show after 9-11 is a disgrace and a slap in everyones face. mtv needs to address this . that is rude and not acceptable for him to support obama on nationally aired tv .

And yes, I agree - what's up with the creepy warehouse venue? Shouldn't there...be more people? :-/

I just saw Taylor Lautner behind Katy Perry, too! That's all I care about - the Twilight cast!!!

Britney politely applauds then asks her manager, "Who's Barack Obama?"

Where the F is our live blog?! It's 9:08 and we've already witnessed Britney and Goth Rihanna!

Is it just me or are the VMAs at a much smaller/crappier venue this year? It looks too much like the inside of a warehouse and there doesn't seem to be a very big crowd.

I don't think the whole "group dancing" thing has become tiresome. In fact, I feel I haven't seen proper group dancing since Britney's initial reign. I'd love to see her light the stage up with a thorough dance routine! She was absolutely the best performer when she was on top of her game. Her stage presence is simply unparalleled.

does anyone REALLY believe her manager when he claims that she's not going to be performing at the VMA's? After last years disaster-fest she gave us, i can't imagine why she wouldn't want to redeem herself...I really don't care if she ever squawks another off-key bleat (if you haven't seen the vid of her 'singing' on youtube, you should), but if I were her and had any hopes of making any money again, I would try for a comeback now...I mean, why not?

At this point the group dancing thing from Brit is tired. I mean not matter how hard she pop, drops, and locks it, isn't it all just the same lame thing we seen from her year after year after year after year. Why not try something new like -- I don't know -- actually standing still and singing? And folks this isn't about hating B, it's about wanting her to break beyond the easy clonebot (manufactured) music industry mold because that's what groups like the Pussycat Dolls are for, right?

I'm just happy to see the kick-ass dancing Britney of old shining through. I'm a bit tired of the whole rooting-on-celebrities-to-fail-thing. It's great to see someone working to put her life back together.

I love how the URL contains "secretbritneyvideo" when it's clear the guy with the camera was 3 feet away from her and probably uploaded it to the internet 5 minutes after it was shot with Britney peering over his shoulder asking, "Is it up yet? It is up yet?!"

It's probably a rehearsal for the VMAs, she's got to get her arse back to work because she owes the record company $$$$. (like Whitney)
