'America's Got Talent': The Final Five!

Sep 19, 2008, 02:19 PM | by Jaya Saxena

Categories: 'America's Got Talent', Reality TV

Kaitlynmaher_l Last night's episode of America's Got Talent was a fascinating study in television. For who would have imagined that they could stretch five people getting kicked off the show into a half-hour ep? What could have been a five-minute segment at the end of another show turned into its own spectacle, complete with a musical performance by Natasha Bedingfield! I'm still baffled as to why she was there.

The first to stay were Nuttin' But Strings, which means we had to say goodbye to the Wright Kids. But this wasn't just any goodbye. This was a goodbye complete with a video montage of their greatest moments, and then a Corner Cry Cam of them watching, heartbroken, as they saw how far they'd come. We then watched Paul Salos, Kaytlin Maher, Joseph Hall, and Jessica Price all get booted. But this means we've still got Neal E. Boyd, Nuttin' But Strings, Queen Emily, Eli Mattson and Donald Bronzewell (I've been waiting to make that pun all season)!

PopWatchers, who's your pick? Do you think they deserve it? And did anyone else notice that all the contestants were wearing the same things two nights in a row, even though both episodes this week were supposed to be live? Weird...

loveopera2 Sat, Jan 24, 2009 at 04:25 PM EST

I think Donald Braswell has turned out to be the best of this competition. He has a show coming up in Vegas Feb 15, '09 and begins a national tour in Asheville NC in March. Donald really has an incredible voice & personality. I look for a major career for him.

cecilia tafoya Sat, Oct 4, 2008 at 11:40 AM EST

Congratulations Neil E. Boyd!!!You Rock. Neil was my choice from the very first auditions. He has a God given talent with his outstanding, sensational voice. He deserved to win with the great voice he has. He always stood out from the other wonderful talents and I am glad that America's voters saw that Neil's outstanding voice made him the Number One choice to Win! Great Job America!! Cecilia, Santa Fe, New Mexico

rbdz04 Fri, Oct 3, 2008 at 02:31 AM EST

The final showing was the first time I've seen the show. And NBS was great. Elli, he was ok. But Neil just left me speechless. He deserved to win.

Phila. Soft Pretzel Sat, Sep 27, 2008 at 12:40 AM EST

I can right and speek and spell purfect English. However, I do like a fresh warm soft Phila. pretzel. I'm sure Neil Boyd would probably eat about ten soft pretzels. I hope Neal doesn't eat in bed and pull a Mama Cass Elliot on us. I absolutely hate people who continually come up with the fat jokes. And please forget about NBS and Donny BRAswell.

Clay Fri, Sep 26, 2008 at 01:56 PM EST

If Neil E Boyd does not win then I believe the show is rigged. Never min my life have I ever heard an amateur sound that professional. The man is simply amazing. VOTE FOR NEIL

smartalec44 Thu, Sep 25, 2008 at 06:40 PM EST

What do Julianne Irwin and Julius Irving have in common? Other then a good tongue twisting speech exercise, absolutely nothing.
Since this young lady at 14 years had a rough untrained but potentially super voice. What is she doing now?
I read on some past site that she was singing in Bransen, Missouri. Does anybody know anything else?

Jenn Thu, Sep 25, 2008 at 06:02 PM EST

David Braswell is awesome!!!!

neverno Thu, Sep 25, 2008 at 05:00 PM EST

NUTTIN BUT STRINGZ IS GOING TO WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!THEY ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

casey harris Thu, Sep 25, 2008 at 11:28 AM EST

I started reading the comments. I wanted to gag over the mis-spelled words & lousy grammar. If you can't even speak/spell/write English, what makes you think you are qualified to judge someone's talent?

Matt Thu, Sep 25, 2008 at 11:26 AM EST

What? This show's still on? I thought summer ended.

MaryE Thu, Sep 25, 2008 at 09:18 AM EST

Sandy, now that would be a show. I think they are all going to perform on Oct. 17th. I sure hope Donald wins. He takes such a beating from Sharon O.I hope she doesn't return as a judge next year.

Yasmin Thu, Sep 25, 2008 at 01:20 AM EST

I think Eli is the most talented, i would really by his music any day and go see him in Vegas every time i go, but if Eli dosnt win, then i want Niel to win, i think he deserves it after all he's been through, and he's got an AMAZING voice.

Overall I think that all the acts left are very talented but in then end ELI or maybe Niel should win.

andaletha Wed, Sep 24, 2008 at 09:56 PM EST

I JUST LOVE TO HEAR ELI SING AND IWOULD BUY HIS MUSIC ANY DAY. ANDALETHA

Pam Wed, Sep 24, 2008 at 09:22 PM EST

NEIL E.Boyd- What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas and I think you belong in Vegas to stay! WONDERFUL,WONDERFUL vocals. At-A-Boyd!

Robie Hood Wed, Sep 24, 2008 at 05:37 PM EST

The most consistant acts were Piers, Sharon and David. However, the most talented is Eli...hands down.

Melanie Wed, Sep 24, 2008 at 01:23 PM EST

The show is for talent, not just singing. The best act to fill a Vegas show is Nuttin' but Strings.

victoriawoolfe2 Wed, Sep 24, 2008 at 01:08 PM EST

I think eli is great but DONALD is more versatile.. Do not like cry babys Boyd or Emily

Marc Wed, Sep 24, 2008 at 10:53 AM EST

My comment is on the show format itself. I got sucked into watching their Results Show last season and never again. I really like the talent part, even some of the stupid ones. They overdo the stupid acts, but that's part of the general reality show mentality. Bad stuff sells.

But results shows just grab a half-hour of my time with something that could easily have been shown at the end of the competition. It doesn't take more than a couple seconds for their automated systems to tally the votes.

And the audience still seems too prompted. It was horrible earlier in the season. Remember when they boo'ed Don Braswell, then cheered? Way too obvious. It's better now, but still not real.

I kind of like Piers, and Sharon, too. But the Hoff needs to cut down on the caffeine. He's one of the most annoying TV personalities.

Princess Butterfly Wed, Sep 24, 2008 at 09:53 AM EST

Just wanted to state for the record it's - "Floats like a butterfly, stings like a bee." If your going to quote someone at least have the courtesy to get it right.

Wed, Sep 24, 2008 at 03:35 AM EST

NBS is entertaining, but after you've listened to them once, saw them bend over backward once, and saw then sromp their feet once....you've seen their show!

sandy Tue, Sep 23, 2008 at 11:26 PM EST

I think Donald Braswell is the most
talented and I hope he wins it all..He
has a wonderful strong tenor voice and
I love all his song choices...I would
love to hear him sing unchained melody
or I did it my way...I have his cd and
it is wonderful...I think what would be great, would be if the top 5 would
tour together to different cities,
because they are all talented and it
would be great to see all of them in a
show together......

OMAR Tue, Sep 23, 2008 at 10:16 PM EST

I WAS AT THE TAPING OF THURSAY'S SHOW;
IT WAS REALLY SAD SEEING SO MANY PEOPLE GO HOME! & NATASHA'S PERFORMANCE WAS NOT LIVE ON THURSDAY THEY ACTUALLY RTECORDED THE WEEK BEFORE & PLAYED IT THURSAY SO US IN THE AUDIENCE WERE DEPRESSED JUST WATCHING A VIDEO! HOPEFULLY THE BEST TAKES IT ALL ! :]

baby girl!! Tue, Sep 23, 2008 at 08:23 PM EST

my vote is for the only one's there wit talent no other then nuttin but strings these two brothers are very talented they deserve to win this!! The name of the show is america's got talent not American idol!! Let's keep it funky nbs all the way!! Good luck!! tourie&damien......

annette Tue, Sep 23, 2008 at 06:02 PM EST

Let's face it Nuttin' but
Strings has talent oozing out of them like nobody's business.
They are truly gifted and awesome entertainment!

MaryE Tue, Sep 23, 2008 at 04:05 PM EST

I believe it's stings like a bee. I sure hope Donald stings a few of the judges Wednesday night. He is the best of the five.

To: k o Tue, Sep 23, 2008 at 02:34 PM EST

Cute girls like Jessica and Sophie of Nashville Stars can do the typical 20 year old eye roll, head bobbing attitude all they want. However if a 47 year old white woman with a beaming bluesy voice tries, the judges eliminate her before the people get a chance to vote. Life's a bee odge.

To: Princess Butterfly Tue, Sep 23, 2008 at 02:14 PM EST

What did Ali say? Stink like a bee, fly like a butterfly. I think Neal Boyd should do a commercial for Burger King advertising a new sandwich called the Wimpy burger. All he has to do is asked the question, where's the beef and look at himself and smile.

smartalec44 Tue, Sep 23, 2008 at 01:53 PM EST

I wish the person not wishing to insult me would have the decency and courage to identify and use their name instead of cowardly using my name. After all, how can I respond to an anonymous ghost.

k o Tue, Sep 23, 2008 at 01:44 PM EST

What do you have against a cute girl like Jessica? If the incompetent sound engineer would have turned up the volume on Jessica's mike you would have heard a little girl singing like an angel. Well maybe, Karen Carpenter she's not. But as good as anybody else on this show.

Leanne Tue, Sep 23, 2008 at 11:47 AM EST

Not according to the Merriam Webster dictionary, but hey, to each their own...

joey Mon, Sep 22, 2008 at 07:47 PM EST

ELI MATTSON!

smartalec44 Mon, Sep 22, 2008 at 07:11 PM EST

Not trying to insult you but isn't that what most of this is all about. $$$$$. Not for the love of performance. And parents pimping their kids so they don't have to work any more. I find it nauseating. And the ONLY place I hear Bianca's name is on this site!

to leanne Mon, Sep 22, 2008 at 07:08 PM EST

I hope you are lol at yourself. Actually dumbies is the "more" correct spelling. LOL

smartalec44 Mon, Sep 22, 2008 at 05:47 PM EST

P.S
Bianca Ryan is kept quite busy with appearances in U.S. and Europe. Her insurance adjuster Dad became her full time manager and is her chaperone on her activities. She has made a regular and X-mas album. She has appeared on Christian television frequently.

smartalec44 Mon, Sep 22, 2008 at 05:28 PM EST

This started out as the best talented act winning 1 million bucks outright. Now I see in the small print disclaimer that the prize is an annuity probably paid out over 25 years with a cash surrender value of perhaps $500,000.
Because Terry Father was such an exceptional talent worthy of Vegas, now the goal is changed to an act worthy of Vegas
Don't you see that they are purposely turnning the singing mike up and down so that the vocalist they don't like is drowned out by the background music. I can't belief the sound engineer or mixer could be so incompetent season after season.
Sarah Lenore and Jessica Price were a victim of this microphone funny business.
In the past, Piers deemed anyone playing the violin as a squeaky ,screeching assault on his eardrums. Why should the minor key sc reeching sounds of NBS be any different.
I agree with a past fellow blogger who stated that Eli is no Elton John or Billy Joel. His voice is wedding or cruise ship quality.

frontierqueen Mon, Sep 22, 2008 at 05:15 PM EST

NBS definitely! I don't like Vegas, but I would go there just to see a full NBS show (if they don't tour)

Leanne Mon, Sep 22, 2008 at 01:37 PM EST

To tomiluvformusic, if you are going to correct someone elses spelling and grammer, please note it is dummies, not dumbies....lol

Chris Mon, Sep 22, 2008 at 01:04 PM EST

Queen Emily really impressed me with an original rendition of a classic this past week. However, it wasn't "original" in the same sense that NBS or Eli are original. The song was still the same monster, and her originality could be seen as weakness if viewed from the standpoint that it wasn't as technically challenging.

Boyd hit us with the same thing he's offered in weeks past, and it really didn't do anything for me. Perhaps he has an audience that he can rely on, but I'm not in it.

Was there someone else I forgot to mention? Oh, yes... The guy who couldn't sing for a while. Even though his story is golden, his singing is bronze at best. The problem isn't so much in the emotion or technicality, but in the pronunciation. Why would I listen to a song if I can't understand the words? Seriously, why?

NBS needs to give a slow song that shows the power of their playing instead of personalities. Eli just needs to play. I'd go see either one on stage, but I prefer Eli.

to Princess Butterfly Mon, Sep 22, 2008 at 12:43 PM EST

Because I actually am talented so I don't belong with this group of freaks, sob stories and babies.

sexyass Mon, Sep 22, 2008 at 12:30 PM EST

the white girl was the sexyest girl there

Preston Mon, Sep 22, 2008 at 11:59 AM EST

I wished that America's Got Talent would have finished its competition and season before the Olympics. I didn't want it to be on near the fall shows premiering in Sept. and Oct. You don't want to have conflict and gripe with producers of NBC shows that want to get their fall premieres on right away. But on the other hand, I like Queen Emily, Donald Braswell and Nuttin But Stringz. Neal Boyd and Eli Mattheson are not in the same league as those three.

Princess Butterfly Mon, Sep 22, 2008 at 09:01 AM EST

If all of you are so incredibly talented that you can put everyone else down...why arn't you on the show displaying your skills?

to Jennifer Mon, Sep 22, 2008 at 06:37 AM EST

That's what I have been saying about all of them. She should take her fat queen heinie to the other fat queen oprah's show!!!!!!

tomiluvformusic Mon, Sep 22, 2008 at 06:36 AM EST

This show is awful and I have been saying it caters to a less than intellectual crowd. Your illiterate comment does nothing to disprove that.
There = their. Wat =what. Untouch =untapped. Etc, etc, etc. You are a teacher?? No wonder most folks here are dumbies and our kids aren't learning.

Jennifer Ayala Mon, Sep 22, 2008 at 04:15 AM EST

Fat Crying Welfare Emily doesn't deserve to win. She can't even sing!

miluvformusic Mon, Sep 22, 2008 at 01:16 AM EST

hahhaha all you talking bad about nuttin but stringz do your research, they put there album out with those songs on it 3 years ago and prolly created it 4 years ago at the age of 18 20 lol. thats was the first time they ever created music or "there new sound" so all the people saying there music sound the same, listen if the sound engineer wasnt sooo shitty you can actually hear wat there playing. i know music i teach it the only thing thats the same is the key that they play it in idiots. all there songs are in the minor key. why? i guess the minor key is more powerful then the major. it has more depth to it more emotion these guys are smart capitalizing on a untouch market. eli cmon if this was american idol he would have been voted off. we seen him at his best and at his worst (alicia keyz) it just shows that hes only one demnision he doesnt have a head voice only chest voice. go to itunes listen to there songs thats been cut and edited for tv purposes idiots. nuttin but stringz

Leah D Sun, Sep 21, 2008 at 09:23 PM EST

I was glad to see the "right" 5 made it to the Top 5. I felt sorry for Katlyn, but don't know if the rules should be changed, because some young kids are really talented. I wish I knew what the girl who won the first year is doing, cuz she was great. I think the remaining 5 are all talented, but will vote for Eli, even more now that I know he writes songs as well. His talent is solid and qualifies for long-term success.

Aquarius Sun, Sep 21, 2008 at 07:16 PM EST

I have 2 forms of cancer that has really played havoc on my life the last 2 years. Luckily, besides maiming me, it doesn't appear it will kill me. If I gain 50- 100 lbs can I be a finalist. I am not very good at anything but if you play the background music loud enough I can sound as good as the Queen, I think.

to Crystal Sun, Sep 21, 2008 at 07:14 PM EST

You must have heard the understudy's understudy with a cracked ear drum because if Braswell were good enough to be on Broadway he would be there!!!!!!!!! Get a brain!!!!

Uranus Sun, Sep 21, 2008 at 07:12 PM EST

Braswell and Mattson might be good enough for a geriatric cruise ship. The others, VFW talent show. This show is a steaming pile of C R A P!!!

Jenifer Sun, Sep 21, 2008 at 06:27 PM EST

My vote has been and will continue to be for Eli Mattson. I've dealt with the music industry for almost 20 years and can simply state that his talent is genuine, unbiased, and remarkably well placed in today's society. Don't get me wrong, NBS has some serious talent, but the monotony of their performances in continuing to deflate their obvious abilities. I would not spend more than about 20 minutes listening to them perform. I was disappointed in their last performance of their own music as well. NBS will be successful, but I firmly believe that Eli will not only be successful, he'll soar!

Mel Sun, Sep 21, 2008 at 06:19 PM EST

I think like a lot of you that the 4 yr old should not have been on there. She hadn't a clue as to what was happening. She was a trained parrot. Each of the remaining 5 are good in their way and style. I have to agree with those that said this was a talent thing not American Idol. So the most talented that I see out there right now is Eli and Nuttin' But Stringz. Eli sings, plays and writes.(along with being humble the whole time. NBS, play (well I might add)but the vocals lack a little. Again it is about preference. The others just practice what is put before them with no talent there and then making the gestures to vote for them. Remeber this is not about who has the best "sob story" behind how they got there, it is indeed about talent. I vote for Eli Mattson all the way. He has the talent, attitude AND the voice for success!

almostfamous Sun, Sep 21, 2008 at 05:06 PM EST

hmm, seems like NBS is already famous..
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuthing_But_Strings
None of the others are on wikipedia, lol...or were on jay leno or landed a movie role!!!!

Imalwaysright Sun, Sep 21, 2008 at 04:58 PM EST

I think that all five are phenomenal!!! NBS is so unique and awesome, but i notice every time they play, it sounds similar..Neil and the Queen are good..as well as Donald!!! I can see all five getting contacts!!!As for the winner that i think deserves it would be Eli...He sings, plays the piano, writes his own music, and his heart is 100% in this!! He's not cocky and very modest!!! And what i love about him is at the end he never puts up his fingers to vote for him...Ex: Vote for number 9, he won't put up his hands, while the other fantically hold up their hands waving around saying, "vote for me, vote for me" Go Eli, you deserve this!!!!

Crystal Sun, Sep 21, 2008 at 04:30 PM EST

I agree with a lot of others that NBS is good but a lot of their music sounds similar and I don't think I would want to hear an hour+, nor do I think they could come up with enough material to fill a show. I think Donald would be great on Broadway, I saw Phantom in NY and Donald was just as good as the man I heard who played the Phantom in that production. As for "Queen" she can sing but I am not entertained by her. I like Neal because to me he puts all of himself into his singing, but I don't think I would pay to see just him. Again I think he would do well in theater. My vote is for Eli. He writes his own music, is an awesome piano player, and has a very intriguing sexy singing voice (IMO). I would definitely pay $ to see Eli. I can't wait for him to get signed even if he doesn't win AGT. His CD would be the only one I would buy. GO ELI!!!

Practical Math Sun, Sep 21, 2008 at 04:25 PM EST

All five are very talented and I believe equally so. With a group of producers, writers, choreographers and dancers they all could do quite easily a 2hour Las Vegas show and bring in 1 billion+ in revenue of hotel room rental, purchase of food, alcohol and money spent at the tables, machines, in betting, centralized limosine rentals, souvenir and gift sales from in house shops of clothes/accessories, jewelry/fragrances and imports. Terry Fator got himself a 100 million dollar contract. These five easily would be worth 1 million each in prize money and worth 500 million in contracts and if Las Vegas can't come up with a showcase of all five, they they have no imagination at all and should not be in business to begin with.

Sari Fitzgerald Sun, Sep 21, 2008 at 04:15 PM EST

I forgot to mention that the producers give the acts 3 songs to choose from. Eli hasn't even mentioned that he writes.

Sari Fitzgerald Sun, Sep 21, 2008 at 03:56 PM EST

Eli is amazing. He sings, plays and writes his own songs. I have his music. Google him. Go on YouTube, MySpace, Facebook. He definitely will not just be covering others' songs when he gets on stage.
Go Eli!

Hey Bumpkins Sun, Sep 21, 2008 at 03:21 PM EST

And what is the season 1 winner doing? Is she headlining anywhere? Maybe dinner theater where any of these folks would be lucky to end up. I saw 5 people better tgan Queen this morning. And I wouldn't want to be standing next to Neal when he has his heart attack.

Sollosi Sun, Sep 21, 2008 at 02:28 PM EST

It's not age discrimination - an 11-year-old won the first season. America voted, the numbers don't lie. And really, did you think that Maher or the Wrights had more talent than the remaining finalists? No way. Those two acts were running on momentum and cuteness. Not Vegas-level talent.

Lynn Lily Sun, Sep 21, 2008 at 01:10 PM EST

I think if talented kids can't go the last round, because they aren't Las Vegas material, then why did they start a talent show as this. Why not have a kids act in Vegas for families and provide a different category for kids. The last round is not fair and is age discrimination.

megan Sun, Sep 21, 2008 at 01:06 PM EST

i really really liked katelin and the man they were both very very cute

megan Sun, Sep 21, 2008 at 01:06 PM EST

i really really liked katelin and the man they were both very very cute

sue Sun, Sep 21, 2008 at 12:24 PM EST

WOW. The five that are in the top deserve it. My heart pours out to the Wright Kids. They were great, however, Vegas is more for adult. But, I am sure the kids will go very far with their talent. Kaitlyn, too was cute and I also cried when hearing her sing at her age. But again, we are talking about Vegas. Neal, Emily and Donald could go for a three way tie. That leaves Eli and NBS. Why can't we have a two way tie?
I would not want to judge the final five.

To All you folks with low expectations Sun, Sep 21, 2008 at 11:31 AM EST

I would rather see Billy Joel sing New York State of Mind, Elton John sing Your SOng and almost anyone sing Impossible Dream. Yeah, you are all flying to Vegas to see these chumps. I am just flabbergasted.

to Bev Sun, Sep 21, 2008 at 11:28 AM EST

You could buy there CD's . You amy have to look hard for it since no legitimate record label would ever sign them!

Jenny Craig Sun, Sep 21, 2008 at 11:27 AM EST

Neal is a nasty fat unhealthy average singer. He probably hasn't been able to clean his groin cheese in years. I am sure he hasn't seen his weiner in at least a decade.

Carol Sun, Sep 21, 2008 at 07:03 AM EST

I would love to know why Kaytlin was even anywhere near the top 10. She is cute, don't get me wrong, but Shirley Temple she is not. She cannot sing, she cannot dance and she does nothing else. I think she took a spot away from someone who has talent only because she is 4 and America votes for kids. I think there should be an age limit on this show. Possibly 10 years old and up. Just my thought.

k o Sat, Sep 20, 2008 at 09:29 PM EST

Did anyone notice that Jessica had the typical 20 year old eye roll, head bobbing attitude as they were playing her good bye clips. The cameras caught on to this and quickly moved away from her and didn't show her face nearly as long as the others. We've seen glimpses of her spoiled attitude throughout the season and it seems the producers further kept us from this negative view of her during the results show.

katie Sat, Sep 20, 2008 at 08:31 PM EST

Finally, Little Miss Dead Eyes is gone! The kid only showed spirit when she wasn't singing. My guess is NBS will win...with some polish and a bit more variety(maybe they could hook up with those crazy drummer guys) they'd be a great act...

Michelle Sat, Sep 20, 2008 at 06:32 PM EST

Does anyone know the name of the song Donald Braswell sang Sept. 16. I absolutely loved the song and would love to be able to download it. Thanks.

chris g Sat, Sep 20, 2008 at 05:59 PM EST

I thought from the beginning that Eli was going to be a sleeper to the finals. Now I'm convinced he will win it all. The rest of the finalist are great but Eli brings with his talent a new piano man for all us Billy Joel and Elton John fans.

Amanda Sat, Sep 20, 2008 at 05:56 PM EST

Yeah, my top 5 are still in! I am so glad Kaitlyn went home, as she should come back maybe in a few years. But yeah, I have noticed that they have worn the same outfits, as supposedly the day before. My thoughts have been either they had to do half of the show, due to it being a 2 hour show, then my other thought is they just wake up and put on the same! Who knows. From what I heard, the show is fixed, and that they already know who's going to win, but I have no idea, it's just something I heard, but I still like to watch it. I wish I had some kinda talent!!

DeborahB Sat, Sep 20, 2008 at 05:09 PM EST

Eli has my vote. I love his raspy voice along with his piano. He is the one I would pay $$ to see. I would like to see him sing New York State of Mind by Billy Joel. NBS is so good, but so much of their music sounds the same to me. The other singers are great as well but they are similar to a lot of others already established.
Katlyn was so sweet but why put her through this far, she isn't Vegas material, she should be on Nickelodeon. The Wright kids could do well at Silver Dollar City and why don't Elvis And Frank hook up for a Vegas act. I would go see that.

Jan G Sat, Sep 20, 2008 at 04:35 PM EST

Donald "Darling" gets my vote he just captivates with his eyes and voice. I am so glad that the American voters were smart enough to keep him in the running. NBS and Eli are both very talented however, I would fly to Vegas in a heartbeat to listen to him and can hardly wait for his first CD to come out I'll be waiting in line to buy it.

Chery Johnson Sat, Sep 20, 2008 at 04:25 PM EST

Neal E. Boyd gets my vote. What a voice. Love listening to him. NBS is interesting but I would get tired of them quick.

jessie Sat, Sep 20, 2008 at 04:00 PM EST

I would have to say, that Eli has this all the way, he is just awesome, very talented. He deserves this one.

BEV Sat, Sep 20, 2008 at 02:53 PM EST

DONALD, EMILY AND NEAL BOTH GET MY VOTE. THEY HAVE EXTRAODIANARY STRONG VOICES. NO MATER WHICH ONE WINS, THE OTHER TWO WILL HAVE A CONTRACT. I WILL BUY ALL THREE OF THEIR CD'S.

Lauren Sat, Sep 20, 2008 at 11:39 AM EST

They are always wearing the same clothes on vote off night as they did when they performed.

Eli or NBS all the way.

Mel Sat, Sep 20, 2008 at 10:54 AM EST

I honestly don't care who wins because they're all very talented. If I had to choose though, I guess I'd say NBS or Eli.

Stephanie T. Sat, Sep 20, 2008 at 09:37 AM EST

???, The biggest show in Vegas is Cirque Du Solie's LOVE. It's a tribute to the Beatles. NBS can fit in, but I agree their composition have to be alterd a bit because they all sound a bit similar.

Laurie Sat, Sep 20, 2008 at 09:32 AM EST

Valerie,

The finale is on Wednesday, October 1st at 9 p.m. Eastern time, so you won't have to wait as long as you think:

My vote goes to Donald Braswell. I would go to see him in a heart beat and unlike Piers I would buy his album. The comments by the judges are so off the wall that they border on ridiculous.Good luck to all 5 of the contestants.

NBS are quite talented but I've got to be honest, I can't tell the difference between the songs they have played. They all have sounded exactly the same. And this week was over the top distracting. With the dancers swinging thru the air, the expoding graphics and the smoke machine, I totally lost NBS in all of it. 3 songs by NBS and I am done. Same song different week. Not to mention, their playing often times sounds too squeaky to me and I HATE Hip-Hop music with a passion. Eli has my vote for next week. He's the only one I could listen to for more than 15 mins without driving an ice pick thru my ears.

I am surprised again this week to see so much support for NBS. They are talented but I think they would get boring after about 10 minutes into a show. I liked them at first but I don't think they can sustain an 1 1/2 to 2 hour show.

He can get some Bronzer at the Rite_Aid (lol). Maybe he can find a new sob story in the tabloids. Maybe Neal, who I hear is not a nice guy, can find a diet.

How many of you suckers have been to Vegas. Headliner's are Celine, Elton, Cher. None of these folks could even open for one of those acts. Someone, please introduce Neal to Jared and Queen to some self respect.

I love Neal Boyd, I love his voice and his passion for the music. Everytime I hear him sing I cry, he brings you into the music. I would like to hear him sing Phantom of the Opera. Neal what do you think? Maybe, "Think of Me". I would fly to Vegas to hear Neal sing!!!!!

NBS. That is the one act that I would fly to Vegas to see. I love the energy, they are original and can hold my attention. They are wondeful.

Stringz are my favorite. Can Donald get any bronzer?????

ella carpenter Fri, Sep 19, 2008 at 05:49 PM EST

Of all the top 5 David Brasswell is the only one that older people would consider paying to see. This is a world for the young, but I would never go and see any of the others but the piano player.

Linda Fri, Sep 19, 2008 at 05:32 PM EST

I really like NBS but would vote for Eli. I think an act with them both and the drummers would be really cool.
The three talents together could put on one heck of a show. I wish NBS and Eli much luck.

Since when is singing not a talent? I bet the music mongrels are glad that many consider singing a talent. I would buy Neal E. Boyds music along with NBS.

Well I expected this result pretty much but did anyone see Jessica Price's face before and after the results were read. Did anyone see the face of maybe her sister booing the results. Can't say I'm disappointed in them leaving with that attitude now.
