You cover this weekend's Outside Lands Festival so we don't have to!

PopWatchers, your Aunt Whittlz is tired. She has been to SXSW, and Coachella, and Stagecoach, and Sasquatch, and Bonnaroo, and Lollapalooza, and she loved every single one of them... but now she is tired. So even though a really terrific music fest is happening right up the road this weekend -- San Francisco's inaugural Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival in Golden Gate Park, with Radiohead, Tom Petty, and Jack Johnson headlining -- I am staying home in order to better remember what sleep feels like. I know. It's horribly lazy of me.

But... what if all of YOU covered the festival for me? If you're planning on hitting the shows this weekend, there is a very cool content tool being launched by a company called CrowdFire that will allow you to upload content for all to see: digital photos, videos, recordings, blog posts, anything that you capture in Golden Gate Park this weekend. So before heading out to the grounds, why not join the site? Then you can visit the CrowdFire Pavilion while on site, upload your stuff, remix the content of others, and play around with what looks like some slightly confusing but ultimately pretty nifty technology.

And here's the cool part: you can tag everything with "PopWatch," and we'll check back in on Monday to see what our little blog family created. I'll even post the best stuff here.

I have no idea if this is gonna work. But I think it's a fascinating experiment in exploring the nature of communal experience. Plus, selfishly, I really wish I could be there, and I want to see as much of it as I can. What do you think, guys? Who's in?
