Which 'Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants 2' guy has breakout potential?

Travelingpantsmen_lIn Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants 2, the magical jeans take Carmen (America Ferrera) to theater camp in Vermont, Tibby (Amber Tamblyn) to NYU film school, Bridget (Blake Lively) to an archaeological dig in Turkey, and Lena (Alexis Bledel) to the Rhode Island School of Design. And while the movie centers on the four young women navigating their friendships from a distance and yada yada yada, I'm gonna cut to the subject I know you're all really dying to talk about: the guys of Sisterhood.

After the jump, a spoiler-y discussion of the movie's four leading men, and which one I think is poised to break out as the next great romantic-comedy star.

This time around, 75 percent of the Sisterhood gets entangled in romantic drama. (Apparently, Lively gets enough of that on Gossip Girl.) Let's break it on down (going clockwise, from the top left):

  • Tom Wisdom (Ian): At theater camp, Carmen miraculously wins the lead role in the summer play, which gives her plenty of one-on-one time with co-star Ian. This leads to (surprise of surprises) romance, but not without (more surprises) pesky obstacles: Carmen's roomie wants the guy all to herself. Wisdom scores points with his adorable accent, but am I the only one who didn't exactly feel the chemistry between him and Fererra?
  • Michael Rady (Kostas): How's this for an acting challenge? In between the first and second Traveling Pants installments, Rady's Greek loverboy character forgets he's supposed to be pining for Lena, his across-the-ocean ex, and goes off and gets hitched to another woman. Does this make the guy any less dreamy? Absolutely not. And thankfully, Rady's role in the film isn't dimished just because his character's taken. (I mean, Rady's role as a philosophy teacher on Swingtown is about to come to an end, and a girl needs her fix!)
  • Leonardo Nam (Brian McBrian): Another actor reprising his role from the first Traveling Pants flick, Nam scores the film's most realistic story arc -- Brian uses a two-year-old condom with Tibby, resulting in a pregnancy scare and a break-up -- and while his video-gamer character isn't exactly source material for a rom-com daydream, the guy's performance is rock-solid.
  •  Jesse Williams (Leo): He's the art student Lena meets (and eventually falls for) after he poses nude for her drawing class. Believe it or not, this is the first time Williams' intense eyes have made their way to the big-screen, though hopefully not the last.

Yep, that's a lot of talent (not to mention eye candy) for a single chick-flick, but if I had to place my money on one member of Sisterhood's brotherhood, it'd have to be Rady. I'm already dying to see him go Greek this fall, and with a little luck (and some careful career management) I think he's got the goods to headline a big-screen romance down the road. What about you, PopWatchers? Which traveling man do you think gave the best performance? Discuss below!

ummm this is hollywood and i thnk it's pretty obvious who the star is. Jesse Williams was natural and ridiculously good looking and this was his first movie ever. i like Leonardo Nam very much too. but the question was breakout potential and it's just not even close.

Hands Down Michael Rady...Come On He's A Hottie I Was Waiting To See Him Throughout The Whole Sisterhood Movies!!!

Jessie Willams, i saw him on Greek on ABC family, but he is so hott, he's gonna be in a new movie called Brooklyn's Finest, i know dozens of girls who are looking for a pic of him shitless.Me too!!!LOL=))

I have to give it to Nam.
If he keeps taking his shirt off, he'll get as many movies as his beautiful asian self ever wants.
The same goes for williams.

I can't say i loved Wisdom's performance. The chemistry really just wasn't there.

And Rady was brilliant as usual.

I'll go with Tom. I'm a sucker for Brit actors (Hugh Dancy included). Loved Tom in Mile High. The first thing I said when I saw him in Sisterhood was "my, look at Marco!"

I believe that Jesse Williams has the best chance at a long career. He is intelligent and hotter than hell! I think that he has real potential. Plus, his eyes are amazing. If they are the window to the soul, he must have one beautiful soul.

Tom Wisdom is excellent. Rent Mile High or the 300! Yes, it is freaky that he's 35 and looks like a teenager. (I think the character he played in Mile High was 19). But he's the best. With all the Brits on American TV now, they should get him over.

I vote for Michael Rady and Leonardo Nam. Rady's Greek accent is difficult to master (can't wait to see him in "Greek" and I now wish I watched "Swingtown") and playing against Asian type is something that should be heralded. I was unimpressed with Jesse Williams, but that's probably because of his overly confident character. And Tom Wisdom was boring! I've never seen a British guy not be charming enough before. Hugh Grant usually plays a jerk and even HE has more charm than Tom. Sounding British does not automatically make you attractive. Did anyone else find it weird that he was playing twentysomething when he's actually like 35? Ill.

My whole theater literally gasped when Leo Nam came out of the bathroom shirtless. I don't think anyone one expected him to have such a great body! He was my personal favourite. And he had the best storyline.

Tom Wisdom is 35 years old! holy hell! i loved Rady in the first movie as well as this and i really thought he was greek the first time i heard him speak. so i hope his career goes far. Leonardo was great as well.

I place my bets on Jesse Williams (those eyes!!!) and Leonardo Nam (acting ablility). Williams can really do that sex with the eyes thing.

Jess Wed, Aug 13, 2008 at 03:12 PM EST

My vote goes for Leonardo Nam - great smile.

I saw a pre-screening of the movie and right at the point where Jesse Williams character is first introduced in the art class our screen went all weird and close-up and everyone in the movie's head was cut off. So my first introduction to this actor was from his neck down talking to Lena's boobs and I gotta say, it earns him my vote for break-out star.

Michael Rady is definitely a standout in the looks as well as charisma departments - very memorable, and tremedously likeable. Blue-eyed hottie Jessie with his flawless bod comes second - he really didn't get a chance to 'act' much.

I have a married friend who is pretty unflappable and when Jesse came on the scream she just went "oh my God!". it was so funny to see her get all girly all of the sudden. she did that every time he was on screen. personally, though I have always had a thing for Stavros so Michael Rady gets my vote.

whatever. im just excited that they cast an asian guy.

Martin Wed, Aug 13, 2008 at 08:49 AM EST

Jesse Williams should've been cast in G.I. Joe. Hey, Jesse - Call your agent, ask him/her to get you in the Transformers sequel.
Leo Nam - Get in touch with Judd Apatow.
Tom Wisdow - Get wise and travel to Narnia. Or get a haircut and get yourself a rom-com.
Michael Rady - you're the guy from Swington? Totally unrecognizable, dude. Start recurring on Weeds. (You need to get yourself a little edge.)

I would have to go with Jesse Williams i spent about an hour yesterday trying to find a photo of him shirtless...LMAO. Evtime he came on screen me and the girls got so giddy. . .he is just to HOT!

Parise Wed, Aug 13, 2008 at 07:12 AM EST

Jesse Williams (Leo) gave the best performance. I don't remember anything he said, but every girl in the audience let out a little squeal when he was on screen. Super hot, especially in the modeling scenes.
