Be Amanda Bynes' new agent

Amandabynes_l Amanda Bynes is leaving CAA and currently interviewing new representation. I agree that it was time for her to make a change. Why? If you can't get myself or my friend Eva, who's constantly complaining that She's the Man isn't a basic cable staple yet, to see Sydney White, you need a new direction.

So, pretend you're an agent and pitch Bynes the career path you'd set her on. I'd recommend she return to series TV and find a smart role that doesn't require a pratfall. I'm almost feeling a guest arc on Grey's Anatomy... I could see her being a good mini-Meredith.

Amanda, I suggest you get down on your hands and knees and beg BEG! Tina Fey to give you a guest spot on "30 Rock." Prove to your fellow female comedians that you're funny and they'll think of you next time they have a film in production. OR "bump" into someone in the Apatow clan and be the funniest chick they've ever met. I have faith in you. You were hilarious in She's the Man. I know you can do this.

by the way mandi, i'm totally with you and eva. "she's the man" is a damn good movie and deserves some tbs treatment.

She needs to look @ Anne Hathaway's career: From The Princess Diaries( and other tiara flicks) to Brokeback Mountain to D W Prada to Becoming Jane to Get Smart to the new Oscar buzzing Rachel Getting Married. Finally,Hathaway may get her first Oscar nomination for this film Also, she needs to study the careers of Jodie Foster,Elizabeth Taylor, and Sally Field. These females had some of the best transition from teen movie star to adult film star.
She needs to regroup.
Now, it is paramount that she take creative risks- whether it is tv or the movies. Mixing commercials films & independent movies.

I really like Amanda Bynes, but I think she needs a new direction. I'd like to see her branch out from teen girl comedies and do something more serious. I think she needs a well-written dramedy and then perhaps a romantic comedy.

Four words, Mandy: Satur. Day. Night. Live.

Lee Hernandez Wed, Aug 6, 2008 at 02:07 PM EST

I think she belongs in movies-not television. She's got the "It" factor.

Not as gorgeous as the other Apatow girls? Sorry if I disagree...Amanda has one of the best bodies in Hollywood. Her legs are to die for.

amanda Wed, Aug 6, 2008 at 12:42 PM EST

I'm thinking throwing on some ugly Betty make up to jump into an Apatow (she's not as gorgeous as the other Apatow girls, so make her a dorky one who steals the movie). A guest spot on Heroes or Chuck seems to be a popular idea for some, so going that route could work but let's not forget 90210. Kelly Taylor's long lost sister, what?! What's that? A supporting role in next summer's big blockbuster hit? Not sure what that is yet, but I'm sure we can find it for her.

Yes! for a 30 Rock arc. She should follow that up with a small but scene-stealing, Golden Globes-nominated (but not -winning) role in a Cuaron or Meirelles film.

To promote that movie and get the right amount of press, she needs to wash off the dayglo self-tanner and trade in her California teen vibe for a new East Coast look, complete with chic haircut to be covered in InStyle.

I like AB, but why is she always bright orange? I saw her on the street in NYC last year and she looked like an Oompa Loompa. And in that Sydney White trailer, which looks awful, she is a different color than anyone else in the movie.

A couple ideas:
- Amanda Bynes, meet Lauren Graham. You'll be working together. (Seriously, doesn't this just make sense intuitively?)
- A 30 Rock guest arc would be just about perfect for her -- good call Elizabeth. Plus, I think Amanda could spin this into a role in Tina Fey's next movie.
- If only Robert Altman was around....she'd be great in a big ensemble piece. So, instead, it's time to work with Woody Allen, Amanda. He has a thing for young ingenues, and it's about time he do a really good Woody Allen comedy.
- Take a small, dark role in an edgy film (Darren Aronovsky? Tarantino? Spike Lee?) where the audience comes out saying "wait, that was Amanda Bynes?"
- Stay away from the paparazzi machine -- we all love the level-headed woman you've been so far.

Hook her up with the Apatow crowd, put some edge on her image. Take a step back from the pressures of leading lady and redefine herself in a brilliantly funny supporting role.

Bynesy Baby, let's talk. You've done all these great movies that demonstrate your "good girl" character. So why not do a few flicks to make you steam up the silver screen?

First, I'm thinking we team you up with Brad Pitt in some popcorny action flick. Then you do a stint as a superheroine. Not a skanky one, but you know, some character actor type role like Wolverine's daughter or Rogue or something. Finally, slip into romantic comedyland to maintain a solid female fanbase, and from there we get you into some high dollar Japanese commercials. After that, we look to get you into a franchise summer blockbuster and you become Amanda Bynes, super a Lister!

We'll do it all for you for 10%, and we insist you keep your underwear on in public at all times, avoid public intoxication, and remain further than 100 feet of Bobby Brown and Kevin Federline at all times.

Oh i love A.B. she is a great actress who has been in a rut of the same type of role her whole career. She should start by doing supporting roles in serious drama tv shows or movies. She should follow Anne Hathaways career path. . . Amanda has the talent needed to be taken serious and its aplus that she is not crazy and wild like other stars her age.

Nancy Wed, Aug 6, 2008 at 07:51 AM EST

First of all, Mandi, please see Sydney White. If you liked She's The Man, you won't be sorry. It's really cute.

I personally like Amanda just the way she is. No need to OD on film, but maybe some smaller supporting roles in bigger films would get her noticed.

Elizabeth Wed, Aug 6, 2008 at 06:59 AM EST

Only cause I heart her so much, I could see her as a young PA at 30 Rock, where Liz and Jenna fight over who the better mentor would be for her, only for her to fall under Tracy's wing. And, Kenneth would totally have a crush on her.

Cory Wed, Aug 6, 2008 at 06:42 AM EST

She definitely needs to be in a movie or tv show where she plays something other than her usual role. I've been a fan of hers since her All That days, so I'm hoping new representation helps put her career back on track.

DanOregon Wed, Aug 6, 2008 at 06:11 AM EST

There is a definite glut of former and current WB-type actresses out there - my idea? She needs to be in a movie where she shoots someone or does massive amounts of drugs (think Tarantino).
