'Heroes' teaser: The 'Going Postal' webisodes

Jul 8, 2008, 01:02 PM | by Gary Susman

Categories: 'Heroes'

The mailman featured in the Heroes teaser below must have superpowers; for one thing, he's running instead of ambling at a leisurely pace. Also, says the postman, he can make powerful sounds with his voice (he bears the unlikely name of Echo De Mille) and may even have killed someone. Beyond that, I'm not really sure what's going on in this preview for "Going Postal" (heh heh), the summer webisode series from NBC that premieres on July 14. I'm also not sure how it ties into the "Villains" storyline of season 3, debuting this fall on NBC, except for the enigmatic appearance of Mrs. Petrelli in the clip. Still, I'm hooked. You?

Oh look, it's a bunch of nerds who think a superpower is a character.

As for Ellsworth not being credited, blame NBC.

Oh look it's Black Bolt...I am excited to see new episodes of Heroes again-hopefully next season will be faster-paced. The show just treaded water last season with Hiro back in Japan. Oh and I think that Mrs. Petrelli's power is that she can impersonate Lucille Bluth...sorry, couldn't resist...

Look it's Ruckus.

As ridiculous as the way too overrated "Heroes" has become, it is great to see Kiko Ellsworth get some work. (It would have been great for Susman to given the actor some credit, too).

To t3hshadow...Not getting WAY out of bounds and my adoration isn't that, I just don't feel like coming here and seeing all the nasty comments about how HEROES has failed to capture the magic of season 1 ad naseum. I'm not going to lose much sleep over it, but its a promo, and the show dioesn't come back for 2 more months and already the nasty comments are starting off a minute and a half promo clip. Thats sad, and even sadder that I'm pointing it out, and I'm getting hung for it. SHEESH

What, no Milo shirtless?

I don't care how lame everyone else thought it was, I still loved last season, and look forward to any Heroes-related stuff I can find.

Hey Phil, take a chill pill for a second before letting your Heroes adoration step WAY out of bounds. Can't you let a few people give fair criticism without acting ultra defensive? As for Nathiest, although I won't jump the gun and accuse you of being a racist with that comment, it came off that way with how you worded it. Although I didn't hate the Honduran twins like most people, I agree that their plotline sucked. Its failure had less to do with ethnicity than bad storytelling. In fact, many season 2 storylines were lackluster between every main character of each race. Don't judge its merits based off ethnicity alone.
Anyway, I like the teaser a lot. If the Villians storyline lives up to the ambient trailer, it'll more than make up for the forgettable season 2.

Nathiest Tue, Jul 8, 2008 at 03:45 PM EST

Didn't the Mexican side storyline almost got the show canceled last season? Yes it did. Now they're doing it again? Unless he is one of the "Villains"? His side storyline will kill the show.

WoW. Its a promo clip, NOT a full clip, thats whats wrong with most of America and this whole generation, they want everything right away & (one step further) AS SOON AS THEY GET IT (whatever IT is) they are SICK OF IT and want something else! The clip isn't supposed to be GREAT, its supposed to get you to WATCH & WANT MORE. And the more I thought about it, the comments about the sonic scream abilities of Banshee and Black Canary, at least these character is an African American male, and as far as the inner comic book geek in me goes, at least they took the consideration to make the character of a different ethnicity than another White Irish male (Banshee) or a female (Canary)!

At the risk of disappointing Phil, I have to say that clip looked kind of stupid. And I used to LOVE this show. Hopefully the third season comes back strong and redeems everything that happened since Season 1's horrible finale.

heavily, not havily SORRY!

Phil Tue, Jul 8, 2008 at 02:04 PM EST

I'm chuckling at paige's comment, but its kind of true, but I hope that all of us fans who have eagerly waited a new season after the lackluster-highly debated slow & SUPER-short season of last Fall aren't disappointed. And that fans such as paige keep the comments about mining the X-Men histopry books to themselves. We've already determined Kring's universe of HEROES takes havily from just about every comic book series of the past, whether he claims to ever have read em or not, but the fans have been BEGGING for fights among the characters, powers versus powers, so in a season dubbed VILLAINS, I hope we finally get some action, and keep the disappointing comments to a minimum! Is it too early to start the debate about what Mama Petrelli's power is YET again!? hehehe

oh look its Banshee

I remember seeing a preview for "Villains" on NBC over the holiday weekend, and I was a little surprised at how excited I was for this show's return. Then I remembered that it hasn't been on TV for a really long time (almost as long as I've been waiting for the final season of "The Shield").

Here's hoping the new crop of episodes will be a lot stronger than the mostly lame second season.

He is Black Canary - can emit a sonic scream that causes destruction. She doesn't use hers that often because it would kill most people
