Check out who made the Emmys shortlist for Best Comedy Actress!

Hatcherlongoria_l The Emmys shortlists keep trickling in over at the swashbuckling Gold Derby -- here are the 10 baked hams in the running for America's Next Top Comedy Actress:

Christina Applegate, Samantha Who? ("The Restraining Order")
Marcia Cross, Desperate Housewives ("Now You Know")
America Ferrera, Ugly Betty ("Odor in the Court")
Tina Fey, 30 Rock ("Sandwich Day")
Anna Friel, Pushing Daisies ("Bitter Sweets")
Felicity Huffman, Desperate Housewives ("Now I Know, Don't Be Scared")
Eva Longoria Parker, Desperate Housewives ("In Buddy's Eyes")
Julia Louis-Dreyfus, New Adventures of Old Christine ("One and a Half Men")
Mary-Louise Parker, Weeds ("Bill Sussman")
Sarah Silverman, The Sarah Silverman Program ("Bored of the Rings")

Our selected image suggests we care that OMG TERI HATCHER WAS SNUBBED THIS YEAR. Not really. I'm of the opinion that to expect four actresses from the same not-always-hilarious series to get noms just because they're equally overexposed off-screen and get relatively equal time on-screen, is ludicrous. (And anyhow, isn't series newcomer Dana Delany's omission the real shocker?) Anyhow, I'll be surprised if Huffman, Longoria, and Cross all get nods in lieu of first-time potential nominees Applegate or Silverman, who carry their own shows. Rejoice or disapprove in the comments below, or if you just don't know what to think about the shortlist and airport security simply refuses let you through with that attitude, follow the fine example in the clip below!

Ferrera SUCKS! She has no talent! "Ugly" Betty suits her though. Ha!

let's face it...there are NO SNUBS when it comes to black actors and actresses getting nominated for lead comedy roles in TV....1985 The Cosby Show's P. Rashad was nommed and 2002 Bernie Mac was nommed...last winners? 1981 - Isabel Sanford for The Jefferson's and 1985 - Robert Guillame for Benson....so why even submit at this point?

Excellent-I'm so sick of Hatchet face and her poor little me act.

I forgot Eva Longoria is going by Parker too! No, I mean Mary-Louise. I love DH and Longoria but she has no chance.

Hot Wings Tue, Jul 1, 2008 at 03:47 PM EST

By "Parker", do you mean Eva Longoria or Mary-Louise, junior? I'm hoping for the latter...

junior Tue, Jul 1, 2008 at 03:44 PM EST

The nominees will be Applegate, Ferrera, Fey, Huffman, Louis-Dreyfuss, and Parker. The other ladies have no chance.

paige Tue, Jul 1, 2008 at 02:41 PM EST

youre right! she submitted it as supporting actress (bad move)! and now she's getting shafted!!!! i'm gonna get apocalyptic!

paige Tue, Jul 1, 2008 at 02:32 PM EST

connie britton is submitted as best lead actress in a drama... they havent shown that list yet...

James Tue, Jul 1, 2008 at 02:07 PM EST

Oops, I mean apocalyptic

James Tue, Jul 1, 2008 at 02:06 PM EST

Dana Delaney submitted her name under the best supporting actress race and they haven't announced the top 10 (or 11) for that category yet. I am surprised that ew.com hasn't gone apocolytic over Connie Britton not making the list for supporting actress drama yet again, but I'm sure we'll get that post when the nominees are announced and no one from The Wire, Battlestar or Friday Night Lights gets nominated yet again.

As long as we're including 'dram-edies' like DH, how about the actress who plays Chuck's sister on "Chuck"? Now THAT'S a funny show!

Alan Tue, Jul 1, 2008 at 01:51 PM EST

I'm really really hoping for Christina Applegate, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Tina Fey and America Ferrera to all get nods!! (And for Christina Applegate to win, she's so cute and zany in Samantho Who)...Then, for the fifth nominee, I guess you can throw in a housewife, so I'll say Dana Delaney. Oh wait, she's not on the shortlist. What???? OK, so Felicity Huffman then.

R.D. Tue, Jul 1, 2008 at 01:43 PM EST

I'm sorry, but I am soooo tired of shows like Desperate Housewifes being nominated as comedy shows. Wake up people! It's a soap opera with comic relief. The fact that you've mention 3 actresses and the "snubbing" of 2 more shows that you know NOTHING!
Tina Fey rocks! She is probably the funniest woman on TV right now, with Kathy Griffin a close 2nd.
If the Emmy's insist on including shows like DH & the like in the comedy category then they need to create a separate sitcom category.
And while they're at it, include "My Life on the D-List" as competition for DH.

Dee Tue, Jul 1, 2008 at 01:25 PM EST

I'd go gay for Fey. It's SANDWICH Day!!! Sing it.

actingup Tue, Jul 1, 2008 at 01:20 PM EST

I think it is craaaaaaaazy that Marcia Cross or Eva Longoria do not have an Emmy yet. I think they are hilarious. So I would be so very happy if either win. But I also love Julia Louis Dreyfus and Tina Fey.

paige Tue, Jul 1, 2008 at 12:41 PM EST

if the l word even gets nominated for single camera editing, i will boycott. the only award that show deserves is a razzie (thats if they had razzie's for tv)... itd be right up there with "according to jim"

maddie Tue, Jul 1, 2008 at 11:52 AM EST

i think the l word is more of a dramedy and there is nothing dramatic about elizabeth keener's character, dawn denbo. simply pure comic gold.

paige Tue, Jul 1, 2008 at 11:46 AM EST

um- the l word is an absolutely horrible show i.m.o... but i thought the show was considered a "drama"...

collins Tue, Jul 1, 2008 at 11:42 AM EST

whose a girl gotta screw to get nominated in this town? elizabeth keener on the l word was quite possibly the BEST addition to any show on any network this season. and yet another year without leisha hailey getting her due is just asinine. keener better be in the supporting category or IT'S ON!

Teri Hatcher should have gotten on the shortlist! She was hilarious this year, I don't care what the haters have to say about it.

Dave Tue, Jul 1, 2008 at 11:21 AM EST

Dana Delaney rocked on DH this season, but she will (hopefully) be recognized in the supporting actress category. Out of the ten finalists in this category, though, I hope the nominees are Tina Fey, Julia Louis-Dreyfuss, Mary-Louis Parker, Eva Longoria Parker, and Marcia Cross. I also really like Christina Applegate (and think she'll be nominated, probably over one of the DH ladies).

Tony Tue, Jul 1, 2008 at 10:56 AM EST

I can do it! I can have it all!

Tina Fey should win in a walk, if this were a perfect world.

KateDFW Tue, Jul 1, 2008 at 10:21 AM EST

The only two shows that I watch or care about on this list are Weeds and 30 Rock. I will be happy if Mary Louise Parker and Tina Fey are nominated and I hope one of them will win. My bet is on Tina since her show is on Network and not Cable. But the scene of her eating her whole sandwich inside of 15 seconds should be enough to win. She is brilliant (and so is MLP). I hate the fact that DH ladies take away from true comedians when this show is just a soap opera with a few funny moments thrown in.

nunya Tue, Jul 1, 2008 at 10:18 AM EST

i hope the nominees are: applegate, fey, cross, huffman, and louis-dreyfus. let's be honest-- america ferrara is the weakest link on UB. she's not really funny on the show. it's the supporting characters -- Willy, Marc, Amanda, Claire, etc who make the show interesting and funny.

KG Tue, Jul 1, 2008 at 10:16 AM EST

if anybody should be nominated from DH shouldn't it be dana delany? or is she considered a supporting actress?

anyway, GO TINA FEY!!

Holly Tue, Jul 1, 2008 at 10:12 AM EST

Tina Fey all the way!!!!

paige Tue, Jul 1, 2008 at 10:11 AM EST

perfect list- i dont believe any actress was wrongfully snubbed. here's hoping that Christina Applegate, America Ferrera, Tina Fey, Mary Louise Parker and Marcia Cross get the actual nominations... Dana Delany is to be considered in the Supporting Actress category...
