What's your go-to rerun?

Jun 10, 2008, 03:44 PM | by Amy Wilkinson

Categories: Television

Svu_l I'm finally succumbing to feelings of separation anxiety now that my favorite shows are on hiatus. I've gotten temporary relief from a few summer newcomers (I'm looking at you, Swingtown), but for the most part my channel guide seems to be a wasteland. It's times like these that I turn to my go-to reruns: the shows I always watch when nothing is on, no matter how many times I've seen them before.

For the most part, it's Law & Order all the way. With so many iterations, it doesn't matter what day or what time it is; there is always an episode to temper my boredom. Though I prefer SVU (oh, that determined Detective Benson), I'll take an oldie-but-goody episode of the original any day. I'll even watch Criminal Intent if I'm in a particularly bad way. If it's the weekend, however, I'm more likely to tune in to an America's Next Top Model marathon and while away a Sunday afternoon trying to figure out how to smile with my eyes. If all else fails, I will never turn down anything on VH1 with the title I Love the '__s.

What about you, PopWatchers? What's your favorite show to watch when nothing else is on?

'nita Thu, Jun 12, 2008 at 10:54 PM EST

law & order all the way here any L&O anytime

Tipper Thu, Jun 12, 2008 at 12:31 PM EST

MASH -- TV Land started rerunning it and, during the Strike and now, it's a godsend. I'd forgotten how great it was.

rlk Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 05:45 PM EST

I just got into SVU and it is INSANE how many times a week (heck, how many times a DAY) that show is on.
Also, TV One shows reruns of New York Undercover on weeknights. Loved that show in high school and it's great to see the episodes again.

Tim Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 04:48 PM EST

I refuse to delete any '30 Rock' from my DVR. 'MILF Island' will never, ever get old.

chelsea Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 04:28 PM EST

Anything on Bravo. When they play marathons of Top Chef and Project Runway I'm there. Doesn't matter how many times I have seen them.

LA Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 04:24 PM EST

Since there isn't much on regular TV, I put Gilmore Girls back on my tivo list and I love watching that every day again. So quick-witted, warm & funny. They recently started back at the beginning so it's great to see how the characters have grown over the years. And interesting to see that all the quirky townspeople were there from the beginning!

Christine Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 04:07 PM EST

Gilmore Girls. I've been through the entire series first year to second-to-last about two-and-a-half times. The snappy dialog and crazy townsfolk never get old.

Jason Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 02:47 PM EST

Nothing gets played nearly as much as my Arrested Development DVDs. All three seasons. And every time I pop them in I find something new or hear a joke differently that makes them seem brand new again. The best.

Miss B Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 02:36 PM EST

Here are my go to's:

LOST- I have just started rewatching them and rediscovering why I loved the show. There are some characters I miss, some I don't and now I can afford to read into all the little things, especially after knowing how season 4 ends.

The X-Files- Brillant acting and writing. LOVE IT!!

MASH- I always watched the reruns during the summer when I was growing up and now thanks to TVLand I can do it as an adult too.

katie Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 02:27 PM EST

my go to reruns are Friends, 90210 and not ashamed to admit, full house

Laura Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 02:14 PM EST

Lets see, I go with either Lost, Numbers, The Office, Supernatural, or Chuck. Doesn't matter what time of day, I'll watch any episode from any of those.

Bethann Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 02:02 PM EST

Friends, The Simpsons, Family Guy, CSI and any E! countdown show--you know. The 25 Most Harrowing Celebrity Near-Death Experiences and other such fluff.

Marie in California Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 01:43 PM EST

Batman the Animated Series and the Venture Brothers - I am SOOOO happy we have new Venture Brothers episodes to enjoy (finally)- I've been getting to know the reruns pretty well.

Rome
South Park
House (viewed right before or after Black Adder the Third, it's a real trip... ;)
Ramsey's Kitchen Nightmares

Sara Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 01:21 PM EST

Definitely Project Runway on Bravo or Friends.

Stephanie T. Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 01:16 PM EST

You know, I finally saw a bit of Hogans Heroes on TV Land and I thought it was really good. I am hoping that they'll show F-Troop reruns too.

As for favorite show when nothing's on, I'll say Family Guy.

Happy Hour Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 01:11 PM EST

Lately it has been reruns of Friends and S&theCity on the CW channel. I also sometimes watch reruns of Oprah.

CB Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 01:03 PM EST

CSI, CSI Miami and Spongebob

MTM Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 12:51 PM EST

Dick Van Dyke Show is on daily at 7pm & 10pm on ME TV in Chicago. It's my saving grace. Also reruns of News Radio and Mary Tyler Moore.

Ethan Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 12:48 PM EST

anyone else think the "go to rerun" during the summer should be doing anything else besides watching television?

Yvette Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 12:41 PM EST

Of course, L&O and L&O SVU will always do it for me, but there's also ER, Grey's Anatomy and The Closer. Actually, The Closer is the only television show DVD I have purchased.

Liz Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 12:27 PM EST

Will and Grace, Sex and the City

joeybtown Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 12:02 PM EST

The X-Files
The Office
Lost
Weeds

Beth Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 11:55 AM EST

Family Guy, Friends, Gilmore Girls, Buffy, Angel, and I've just discovered House on USA.

Rasha Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 11:37 AM EST

Law and Order SVU, thanks USA!
Grey’s Anatomy DVDs
Anything on Bravo, except "The Real Housewives..."
Anything on the Food Network, except Road Tasted with Paula Deen’s moocher sons

Although this summer, I am mourning the lost of “The 4400” (*glares at USA for not promoting the series). It was fantastic summer television. Sweltering Sunday nights will never be the same.

Miss Dahlia Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 11:33 AM EST

This is kind of embarassing, but I totally love the OC reruns on SoapNet. I also DVR Gilmore Girls for when there's nothing else on. For the weekends, I usually find myself sucked into some VH1 or TLC reality show marathon. There are however, the rare occasions that I actually read-- But that only seems to be when it's sunny and 75 and I can sit on my deck. But that's only happened ONCE this year in Seattle (it's 49 degrees here right now), so I am totally up to date on all my reality programming.

jess Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 11:06 AM EST

did anyone at all say 90210 re-runs on soapnet!?!?! awesome.

hlizmarie Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 10:54 AM EST

Has to be Buffy! I've seen every episode but I can't resist watching over and over. Getting harder to find these days too so when I stumble across one its the highlight of the day.

M Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 10:44 AM EST

The same. All the Law and Order series and America's Top Model. Viva la Cable!

JSweet Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 10:40 AM EST

I will watch any version of L&O no matter how many times I've seen it already! New rerun favorites are The Closer and Top Chef.

Dixie Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 10:37 AM EST

I always seem to end up watching the CSI: Miami reruns on A&E, the SVU reruns on TNT, and Family Guy on TBS--sometimes all 3 at once.

Stef Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 10:13 AM EST

I keep episodes of Top Gear (BBCA) on my DVR for an occasion when I need to watch something. For some reason watching Brits try to create a viable reusable space craft out of a car is pretty hilarious every time. Bones if it's on is always great, as well as HGTV and Discovery (Mythbusters FTW!). I watched the last 25 minutes of an SVU episode last night and didn't feel like I missed anything by not watching the first half.

secondrink Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 10:12 AM EST

Frasier, Family Guy, TDS/TCR, and NewsRadio on Hulu.

amah Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 09:56 AM EST

Oh yeah- I am trying to get into Bones via the TNT reruns. Since the show's inception I have been hearing that I "need" to watch it. It'd be a lot easier to get into it if TNT did daily reruns!

amah Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 09:55 AM EST

Sabrina the Teenage Witch. They've been re-airing the entire series mercilessly on ABC Family. Sometimes even 4 episodes a day! I gave it a TiVo Season Pass a few months ago and am now re-watching the series for the third time in a row. That show puts me in my happy place without fail.

Rhea Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 09:54 AM EST

Bones is my new favorite rerun show!!!
I just love the banter between Bones and Booth...In some ways it reminds me of Scully and Mulder. And speaking of those two, that's another show I could always watch repeats of.

cimagato Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 09:52 AM EST

Gilmore Girls, Daily Show, L&O, Torchwood, AbFab

Henry Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 09:39 AM EST

Frasier and Scrubs too.

Henry Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 09:36 AM EST

Everybody Loves Raymond or Seinfeld.

Perkle Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 09:30 AM EST

Glad to see I'm not the only one who watches too much TV. L&O, Dirty Jobs, Star Trek, CSI, - my husband has a special talent for finding the worst movies on tv and loves to watch them. Ususally something on Sci-Fi channel.

Sari Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 09:12 AM EST

Everybody Loves Raymond! Did you know on Friday nights TBS shows 6 episodes of that show in a row? Yeah, that's what I do with my time on Friday nights. Even though I've seen every episode at least 15 times and have the DVDs. I know, I know I am looking into getting some help.

Mel Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 09:06 AM EST

Law and Order all the way, although I am more of a Criminal Intent girl since both Vincent D'Onofrio and Chris Noth are pretty dreamy. (Plus, after a couple episodes, Mariska Hargitay's empathy wears me down) Monk re-runs are always fun.

kellen Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 08:47 AM EST

every night before i go to bed, i always turn on will & grace. is there a better way to end your day than by listening to megan mullally's karen walker speak in that shrill voice? ahh music to my ears.

Heather Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 08:39 AM EST

Firefly, Battlestar, Lost, Friends, Torchwood

Cinderella Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 08:12 AM EST

Friends, Simpsons, Family Guy. We have all the seasons of Family Guy on DVD, yet any time it's on tv and there's nothing else on, I'll watch it.

beb Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 07:44 AM EST

The Golden Girls - all the way.

Melissa Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 06:48 AM EST

SVU all the way. I've seen them all before (my husband thinks it's a great stupid human trick that I can recite the entire plot less than 30 sec. into any episode, without help from the guide), and the stories can get a little depressing, but an hour of Chrisopher Meloni would make just about any thing a go to. Oh, and I watch way too many Family Guy re-runs, its just so wrong that its right. Since we moved to a college area a few months ago it seems to be on all the time, like the Simpsons back in the day when I was in college.

BJohnson Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 03:33 AM EST

I teach and this summer I didn't have any workshops to go to. I'm getting into shows I couldn't normally see during the school year like A Baby Story. I still get my L&O fix everyday I have to see at least one. There's also COPS, gotta see the real criminals get caught by real cops. Now I also find the TV on Boomerang for an hour to catch the Smurfs and Snorks.

Mike TX Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 02:49 AM EST

yep yep...just finished watching two SVU reruns. I agree, L&O, anytimem any channel. and, M.A.S.H. is running around on a couple of channels these days. "My Boys" is back over the summer and the "In Plain Sight" pilot wasn't horrible. I think there was some Mary McCormick side boob.

Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 01:34 AM EST

Sports chick: Mad About You airs every morning on TBS.

monica Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 01:11 AM EST

and last year i watched "everybody loves raymond" and "will & grace," but watching 2 episodes 5 days a week got a bit much after a while.

monica Wed, Jun 11, 2008 at 01:02 AM EST

on mondays, if i'm bored, i rewatch big bang theory, how i met your mother, and rules of engagement. however, i planned on rewatching all the gossip girl episodes once it restarted, but i just can't bring myself to do it. i'd start to miss them all over again. so for now i'm just sticking to netflix and the travel channel.

Becca Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 11:34 PM EST

also bones, how i met your mother, big bang theory

Becca Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 11:29 PM EST

gilmore girls (i dvr every episode, but im so mad at abc family for just starting over right before luke & lorelais big break up!! ive only seen the final season when they were new eps) friends, family guy, that 70s show, the soup, ace of cakes, & the travel channel (weird i know, but no reservations w/ anthony bourdain is so hilarious b/c hes kinda a jerk (but in a nice way, & not to the people lol))

Sports Chick Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 11:10 PM EST

Law & Orders and CSIs all summer long. Seinfeld, Friends and King of Queens when I need a laugh. I was in Copenhagen recently and they were airing old Mad About You shows. I forgot how much I loved that show -- unfortunately it's not on any channel here in the States that I know of now.

Hunter Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 10:57 PM EST

The Closer

Kathy Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 10:44 PM EST

I go for movies. Having everything Comcast has to offer I search around, record them with the DVR and always have a good one to watch (or rewatch.) Just finished watching "Gladiator." Been a while since I'd seen it, so it was pretty much new to me. Then there is the "Alien" series. I'll drop everything to watch them - good, bad, and indifferent!

Netriko Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 10:37 PM EST

Hulu is awsome! For me its usually Fresh Prince, Home improvement and George Lopez, or Scrubs if I actually decide to change the channel.

monet82 Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 10:37 PM EST

NCIS, Rules of Engagement, Two and a Half Men, How I Met Your Mother and Bones. If they have reruns of The Office this summer I will watch them; if not I can always watch the dvds of The Office and Bones.:)

Anthony Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 10:04 PM EST

Yes NineDaves! I totally agree with you on Degrassi! God bless The N!

Phyl Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 09:51 PM EST

NCIS is always good, M*A*S*H*, Friends, Gilmore Girls and old ER shows.

WendyD Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 09:50 PM EST

CSI, Simpsons, or L&O:SVU on TV, but right now I'm in a full-on X-Files DVD marathon.

Nick Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 09:27 PM EST

Arrested Development, and I always stay for the Poppins

Broadway Baby Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 09:27 PM EST

This summer we actually have a bit of a glut of new programming what with the general election campaign for president in full swing and the Olympics on the horizon I just may be able to resist those marathons of ANTM on VH1 ....... oh who am I kidding? I'll be sucked in just like every other weekend even though I know what happens EVERY SINGLE EPISODE. At least I'll be able to break it up with a little Stephanopoulos and Costas.

texmex Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 09:15 PM EST

Friends and Gilmore Girls. I'm always looking for ANTM marathons. Sad, I know.

Miss Ellie Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 09:13 PM EST

Hands down: "Frasier" and "Are You Being Served?".

edd Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 09:05 PM EST

ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT
ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT
ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT

No show has ever been more amazing. Just genius from A to B. Absolutely made for DVD marathons.

edd Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 09:05 PM EST

Snarf Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 08:57 PM EST

I actually got hooked on SVU a few years ago watching re-runs in the summer. I'll probably watch some reality TV if there's nothing else to do (but I'll hate myself in the morning for it)

nunya Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 08:46 PM EST

reruns i always love - seinfeld, cosby show, fresh prince of bel-air, the king of queens and the simpsons.

Nicole Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 08:34 PM EST

i'mt totally feeling you on the antm marathons on the weekends. i've started to take a break though because i find myself "working" the hallways in my house. for me it will always be ER from 10-12 on TNT. it's always there for me!

Cassey Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 08:08 PM EST

CSI Miami plays a million times a day on A&E so that's a good go- to. I know everyone loves the original CSI, but I love Miami, it does't take itself seriously and Horatio is so amusing. HGTV and TLC are usually pretty dependable for having something decent on too.

rich Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 08:00 PM EST

criminal intent great show needs more crime!!!!!

abfab Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 07:48 PM EST

I don't even know how many times I've watched and rewatched all the episodes of the BBC's Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares. I'm laughing just thinking about that show. What a hoot.

GingerCat Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 07:33 PM EST

During the week my go-to rerun is syndicated eps of "The Simpsons." On weekends, I'll usually settle in for an "America's Next Top Model" or "What Not to Wear" marathon.

Laurie Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 07:22 PM EST

CSI Miami! I overdid the procedurals a few years back and started removing them one by one from my lineup, but I realized later on that I kind of missed Horatio and the gang (of all the procedurals to miss, oy,) and have been catching an episode here and there lately. THEN came the big Memorial Day marathon and POW, I'm obsessed with it. Weird! It's such a...not good show. But it'll do. Sunglasses of justice for the win!

Rebekah Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 07:21 PM EST

SVU is one of my go to reruns too. My main go to rerun is Sex & the City. Lately I've been in to Curb Your Enthusiam as well.

Rahul Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 07:08 PM EST

Entourage

JennyP Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 06:50 PM EST

It would definitely be Law & Order. Both the original and SVU. Just can't go wrong with that. There are still 'new to me' eps on.

Crystal Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 06:16 PM EST

Food Network. I was on a cross country flight with 4+ hours of direct tv and watched Food Network the whole time.

LisaM Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 06:12 PM EST

That 70s Show! I love that show. It's funny, good characters, writing. It's just so comforting to watch it.

Rose Tyler Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 05:42 PM EST

I watch Gilmore Girls everyday at 5pm on ABC Family. I've probably seen every episode at least 5+ times but it doesn't matter. I love those girls!
I am also a sucker for Friends reruns. That show is way funnier then it should be.

Raven_Moon Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 05:41 PM EST

"Scrubs" is my go-to show. It always makes me laugh no matter how many times I've seen the same episode & the drama always gets under my skin. I admit, though, I have spent several afternoons watching "America's Next Top Model" reruns. I think I can even smile with my eyes.

kim in kentucky Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 05:34 PM EST

used to watch SVU occasionally -- but last summer, really got into watching it almost daily on USA -- still into - love the marathons they have every couple of months on Sundays - doesnt matter which season it is - almost every show is contained in itself and you don't have to know what happened before on the show - no knowledge of the characters histories are needed --- perfect for first timers, etc who what to catch something new but are afraid they wont be able to follow the story line --- and yup, TBS for sitcoms (Family Guy, Office, etc)

Andi Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 05:33 PM EST

Scrubs is my favorite go to show and I always have Gilmore Girls on tivo. The Arrested Development dvd's -the best money spent in our collection, great an episode at a time or long chunks!

Tim Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 05:30 PM EST

In preparation for the X-Files movie I will be watching the golden years of that. I also am transfixed by Top Chef at the moment and frak Antonia going home! Stephanie better win or I will never watch Top Chef again. I also am looking forward to Kathy Griffins return but the old stand by for me has to be Battlestar Galactica at the moment. Especially seasons 1 and 2!

Grace Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 05:26 PM EST

Early episodes of "Will & Grace" (seasons 1-5, before it hit the skids). And "The Soup" is always hilarious and worth rewatching.

Cory Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 05:24 PM EST

I usually watch Buffy if it's on, but usually Friends and Scrubs since they're more available.

Joanster Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 05:23 PM EST

Anthony Bourdain No Reservations, House Hunters, Top Chef, Bones, Reno 911, Sex and the City, pretty much anything on Food Network (except Emeril), multiple airings of the Soup, the Daily Show, and the Colbert Report. I will also re-watch any episode of Burn Notice or Monk (although I may have reached my Monk saturation point). I should probably get out more.....

BrandonK Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 05:17 PM EST

FUTURAMA!!!!

SJ Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 05:00 PM EST

I'm a sucker for the Food Network. Good Eats, Ace of Cakes, Iron Chef, etc.

Alisa Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 04:55 PM EST

Law and Order-the original. Spongebob Squarepants. Seinfeld. Friends. SATC.

Jelana Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 04:41 PM EST

Jon & Kate plus 8, My First Home, Top Chef, L&O - anything but SVU, House, The Closer, Kathy Griffin Life on the D List and SATC. Actually, I'll pretty much watch anything. My sister told me there's a show on Animal Planet called "Groomer Has It" that is a competition-reality show with dog groomers. I must find this -- I could watch this all summer.

Sarah A Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 04:33 PM EST

My Golden Girls DVDS, those ladies are timeless. One of the greatest sitcoms of all time :)

Or any of the following: Gilmore Girls, Damages, Sex and the City

NineDaves Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 04:15 PM EST

yeah, antm and the bravo reality shows are certainly great to watch in marathon rerun form. but the beauty of the law and order franchise is that there are so many of them that every rerun is like a new episode. and the only show that i can think of that compares to that is DEGRASSI. seriously, i never seem to catch the same storyline twice. and that damn theme song gets stuck in my head for days. for me, degrassi has everything in a rerun i could ever want. the drama of a 90210 or dawson's creek rerun mixed with the 22-minute arch of any sitcom rerun. yet another reason to blame canada - this time for sucking away my weekends!

adam Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 04:10 PM EST

I can watch pretty much any episode of Dirty Jobs or Deadliest Catch, even if I've already seen them multiple times. Discovery pretty much airs these all weekend every weekend, and I almost always end up hooked.

Minutiae Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 04:09 PM EST

I'm an ANTM watcher, too, and if Bravo is doing a marathon of one of their competitive reality shows, I'll also watch.

annie Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 04:08 PM EST

i watch episodes of america's next top model, no matter which season or how many times i've seen it.

Lilly Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 04:06 PM EST

I heart Jon and Kate plus 8. I could seriously watch that all the time and my 3 year old likes it too.

Helen Chapel Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 03:58 PM EST

Wings, Newsradio, L&O (all of them), Househunters and Househunters International. Oh, did I mention Jeopardy?

Heather Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 03:48 PM EST

Since it's going to be such a long time before it comes back, I am going to gorge myself on Rescue Me reruns. Minisodes just won't last me until March!!

snarky Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 03:48 PM EST

L & O original reciepe is still the best - I miss Lenny. SIGH. I am also in the process of watching 30 Rock on DVD - even though I have watched ever ep at least three times, still funny. I heart Liz Lemon.

EP Sato Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 03:48 PM EST

I've gotta go with Galactica. Though reruns of top chef are oddly addictive. Even though I know who gets booted, I can't get enough of the drama that goes on behind the kitchen door.

pirate Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 03:48 PM EST

My go-to rerun show is something called LOST and it's available 24/7 on ABC's website(I sound like I'm promoting ABC-lmao)

kiki Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 03:41 PM EST

Simpsons on DVD over ... and over ...

LP Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 03:41 PM EST

Scrubs! I've seen every episode about a billion times, but I haven't gotten sick of it yet, and it still makes me laugh.

cap Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 03:34 PM EST

I'll usually put on my Gilmore Girls DVD's...I miss that show!
I used to watch 'Living Single' and 'Girlfriends'...not sure if they even show those anymore, do they??

Jen Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 03:26 PM EST

Office and Friends

Kristina Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 03:26 PM EST

I've watched every season of The Office multiple times from my DVD sets and Hulu. And thanks to Hulu I've been watching Arrested Development because I feel ashamed to say I never watched it when it was on TV (in my defense I never knew when it was on because I was busy with college) and now I can watch it whenever I want. I love those shows and can watch them over and over.

Nancy Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 03:26 PM EST

The usual suspects - Friends, rom-coms, ANTM. Recently, though, I've been watching TV online. I'm catching up with Season 1 of Lost (I started watching in Season 2), and I may move on to Ugly Betty (never seen it, but it looks good), and maybe Heroes. Also, thanks to Mandi, I'll be going to Hulu and watching reruns of NewsRadio.

I travel for work a lot which means I stay at a lot of hotels with less than stellar cable. Thank god for Law & Order...always guaranteed to be on USA or TNT...two hotel cable favorites!

Friends, Seinfeld, House... with some Nick @ Nite (particularly Home Improvement, and Roseanne when I can catch it) thrown in.

L&O of course, at the moment, I'm into the Original Receipe version, after a long period of SUV watching.

Sitcom-wise, I burned myself out on Seinfeld, Raymond and King of Queens so I'm kinda tapped out in that area.

I love watching Project Runway reruns (though I just realized it's impossible to SAY "runway reruns" without sounding like Baba Wawa) unless they are from S3, because I despise Jeffrey.

I was hooked on Buffy reruns until stupid FX took them off.

I've probably seen every season of ANTM about six times.

I'll usually get sucked in by a chick flick that I've seen before: "A Walk in the Clouds", "Shakespeare in Love", "Chocolat" etc.
My husband and I also just finished watching the "Firefly" DVDs. So good!

CSI (Vegas only, thank you) is what I'll go to first; otherwise, it's to the Comcast OnDemand - there's Monkees episodes in the Tube Time section now!!!!

I can watch 30 Rock episodes, that are saved on my DVR, over and over agan. They never get old to me. I've also been watching Without A Trace episodes on TNT. Good stuff!

I know it's a cliche, but I'll always watch Seinfeld if nothing else is on. Also, the Simpsons, and on TBS Tuesdays, I'll watch the Office reruns. I also LOVE that comedy central runs the previous night's "The Daily Show" and "Colbert Report" at 8:00 and 8:30, respectively, because I just can't stay up until 11 every night.

The reruns I rely on the most aren't exclusive to summer.

Everyday I get home from work around 5:30, exercise for 30-45 minutes and then flip over to TBS for a steady stream of "Everybody Loves Raymond." I thought the show was funny when it was on, but I rarely watched it when it aired original episodes. Now I watch it while I prepare and eat dinner, and it's fantastic in its simplicity. They're not reinventing the wheel or anything, and it's not the edgiest show in the world, but that cast ALWAYS delivers the funny.

Since we're talking about summer reruns, I'd like to see more shows take the lead of shows like "House" and "Bones" and rerun their just-concluded seasons during the summer. It's a great opportunity to build a fan base that may have missed the show when it was on in the fall and the spring for whatever reason. Also, who says summer HAS to mean brutal game shows and reality shows?

I would say L&O: SVU, but the few episodes I watched this season have been too ridiculous for me to follow. ANTM makes for good marathon watching. It used to be on my 'must see TV' list but since Jericho took its place in fall 2006 (RIP Jericho), it's demoted to wait-until-marathon status. Also, since I'm back home with digital cable, I'll tune into the many Degrassi episodes I missed out on over the years (Nickelodeon and Disney Channel are terrible these days).
Otherwise, I'll be either reading, writing or playing video games (especially after NBA finals end), tuning into Hell's Kitchen, catching up on Naruto and search for Dexter season 2 (I'll almost forgive CBS for canceling Jericho with the free showing of season 1).

I heart CSI. Entertaining, creepy, even a little funny. It's on practically every hour.

MD Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 02:53 PM EST

CSI, any Law & Order and Bones is fine with me but I must say - thank god for Netflix!

DawnieD Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 02:46 PM EST

I think we might wear out our DVDs of seasons 1-3 of Arrested Development . That was some of the best money we ever spent!

Martha Tue, Jun 10, 2008 at 02:46 PM EST

If "Bones," "House" or "How I Met Your Mother" reruns are on, that's what I watch. If there's absolutely nothing on, my go-to is old "Coupling" episodes on Comcast OnDemand. Or I just turn the TV off and do something else. *gasp*
