princess morris Sun, Jun 8, 2008 at 02:13 PM EST

Ras Mihael and the Sons Of Negus "Non A Jah Jah Children No Cry".Would take Jaso Off The Top

Rocky B Tue, May 6, 2008 at 08:51 PM EST

Anti-climactic, to say the least! They were all either too freaked to bring it or they don't give a rip! At this point in the competition, that was a very weird night.

molly Tue, May 6, 2008 at 06:19 PM EST

TMZ posted tonight's song choices.

Alas David Cook is going to sing his brother's favorite band's (Duran Duran) song - Hungry Like a Wolf. Well here's hoping that he knocks it out of the park becuase that song is really 80's... He's also singing Baba O'Rielly

Jason has ignored all our pleas for No Woman no Cry and is instead doing I Shot the Sherrif and Mr Tambourine Man. Good songs just not what I would have picked for him.

Little David is doing Love Me Tender (can he really sing notes that low???) and Stand by Me - that should be good.

Syesha is doing Proud Mary (hmm not sure she can pull of Tina Turner) and Change is Gonna Come

Joan Tue, May 6, 2008 at 02:41 PM EST

Sorry Idol fans, that wasn't me! That Joan was an imposter. I have yet to hear news of ANYONE's song choices for tonight.

Though I enjoyed your riddle, imposter Joan. :)

Bella Tue, May 6, 2008 at 01:51 PM EST

david cook needs to do house of the rising sun

Pam Tue, May 6, 2008 at 01:41 PM EST

JASON WHAT WERE YOU THINKING???? I'm very sad. I'm a huge fan and really wanted him in the Top 3 but there is no way that is happening now. These are awful songs with zero appeal. I don't feel like they could be much worse. Some supporters are trying desperately to put a "spin" on it but I'm one of the honest ones and I don't see how he can make either of these songs work. They're simply too bad (negative lyrics, repetitative, old/dated, uninspiring) and will not appeal to a broad audience.

Rachel Tue, May 6, 2008 at 01:20 PM EST

The speaker knows the system is stacked against him because he is to be brought in “guilty” for a crime he would never deign to consider, “the killing of a deputy.”

" the protagonist is willing to fight against an enemy that threatens his . . . moral integrity “Brother you're right, you're right/ You're right, you're right, you're so right/We gonna fight, we'll have to fight/ We gonna fight, fight for our rights” (“Zimbabwe”). The speaker is not cowering in the shadow of the “Sheriff” nor is he willing to become a martyr, “But if you know what life is worth/You would look for yours on earth/And now you see the light/ You stand up for your rights” (“Get up, Stand up’) and confronts the “Sheriff” because his life is on the line, ‘You want come cold I up/ But you can't come cold I up” (“Trench Town Rock”).

Rachel Tue, May 6, 2008 at 01:19 PM EST

Jason is making a statement with that song, I love it!

The elements of that song is people been judging you and you can’t stand it no more and you explode, you just explode (Bob Marley july 1975)

Ginger Tue, May 6, 2008 at 11:43 AM EST

tarah, i agree with you completely. yuck, boring. i'm a cook fan, as well, but i was hoping jason would pull something amazing out of his hat to hurry syesha out the door.

Tarah Tue, May 6, 2008 at 11:35 AM EST

Well, both of those songs stink. I'm just saying. He doesn't have much vocal range though so he should be okay with both of them. It's not like they have a lot of runs and long notes, etc. Still, both songs are a bit dull- especially I shot the Sheriff. I hate that song. It's boring. All those songs and he picks that one. Yuck. Thank goodness I am a Cook fan ;)

lpa Tue, May 6, 2008 at 10:38 AM EST

Joan always has Jason's spoilers, and sometimes -- but only sometimes -- has spoilers for the other idolettes. She has always been on the money. Now, this *could* be an imposter like the person who spammed last week, but this sounds like the same Joan who usually gives hints for Jason's songs (and usually posts about now as well).

Trish Tue, May 6, 2008 at 10:24 AM EST

Are these TRUE for Jason or is this a fake out? Anyone can post on here under any name!!!!!!! Why does Joan only have the songs for Jason?

Trish Tue, May 6, 2008 at 10:24 AM EST

calla Tue, May 6, 2008 at 10:16 AM EST

Joan - do you have spoilers for ANY of the other idols? :)

erica Tue, May 6, 2008 at 10:16 AM EST

Joan, does that mean you only have Jason's songs today?

Joan Tue, May 6, 2008 at 10:15 AM EST

No imposter. Anyone who posts after me is....not me. :)

Dana Tue, May 6, 2008 at 10:14 AM EST

I shot the sheriff? Really Joan? Jason is all about the lyrics, so this is very very surprising. Could it be the impostor again?

calla Tue, May 6, 2008 at 10:05 AM EST

Sorry, no can do, Coach's mistress. I have two gophones (in different time zones) plus dialidol and gizmo all primed up and ready to go for Archie. ;)

Joan Tue, May 6, 2008 at 09:58 AM EST

Some hints for you:

Jason's a man on a mission. With one arm that fires, authorities fall, but their counterparts are spared. With the other arm, he jingles his tympan all the way to victory.

Joan Tue, May 6, 2008 at 09:56 AM EST

Coach's Mistress Mon, May 5, 2008 at 10:19 PM EST

Archie needs to leave! Please don't vote for him. I can't stand another week of it!!!!!!!!!

Raven_Moon Mon, May 5, 2008 at 08:56 PM EST

David Cook: Now that I thin about it, I think "Sweet Dreams" would be pretty awesome. Other songs that I'm pretty sure he could rock include The House of the Rising Sun" by the Animals, "Sunshine of Your Love" by Cream or "Strawberry Fields Forever."
Jason Castro: "Blowin' in the Wind" or "Like a Rolling Stone" by Bob Dylan
David Archuleta: I don't see it happening, but what if he tried "Losing My Religion" by REM. That might be too much for him.

queen of disrepair Mon, May 5, 2008 at 07:39 PM EST

Syesha- All Right Now by Free; Something to Talk About - Bonnie Raitt
Jason - Hotel California - The Eagles; All The Young Dudes by Mott the Hoople
Archie - Moondance by Van Morrison; Heart of Gold by Neil Young
David C - Help Me by Joni Mitchell; Suzie Q by whoever it is because I can't read my handwriting

JT Mon, May 5, 2008 at 06:41 PM EST

Syesha- I would love to see if she could pull off "Love to Love You Baby" Donna Summer
Jason- "Stand By Me" By Ben E. King
David Cook- Does "Be My Baby" seem weird cause I think he could rock it
David A- This song might seem a little old for him but "Ain't too Proud to Beg" by the Temptations

sonja Mon, May 5, 2008 at 06:03 PM EST

David Cook -Try a Little Tenderness by Otis Redding......hey anybody- is tomorrow's show this Hall of Fame show?

sonja Mon, May 5, 2008 at 05:51 PM EST

David Cook - In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel

wh Mon, May 5, 2008 at 05:02 PM EST

Wow, great idea of Blowin' In the Wind for Jason. He'd do an incredible job on that. Only thing is someone would have to explain the song to him. Just so we're all sure he knows what it's about. I prefer to think he's young, rather than, ah, you know...

annie Mon, May 5, 2008 at 04:53 PM EST

Syesha - What's Goin' on?/Heart of Glass, RESPECT, The Thrill is Gone (bb the king)
Archie - Heart of Gold (Neil Young)Sounds of Silence (Simon/Garfunkel)
Jason- Moondance? Judy Blue Eyes?
Cook - Kinks: You Really Got Me, Pride & Joy, SRV, any U2, REM, Thrill is Gone bb the king

Debbi Mon, May 5, 2008 at 04:49 PM EST

"A Girl Like You" by Edwyn Collins That would totally rock my socks off. Pretty sure it's not available this week, though. :-)

"When a Man Loves a Woman"? I can see some serious possibilities here!

DJ Mon, May 5, 2008 at 04:47 PM EST

I have ten suggestions for each contestant.
Chances are, each contestant will pick at least one of my suggestions!..

DJ Mon, May 5, 2008 at 04:46 PM EST

David Archuleta:
The Beatles - Hey Jude
Jackson Browne - Late For The Sky
Creedence Clearwater Revival - Fortunate Son
Jackson 5 - I Want You Back
Billy Joel - Just the Way You Are
Elton John - Your Song
Paul McCartney - Maybe I'm Amazed
Procol Harum - A Whiter Shade of Pale
Simon and Garfunkel - Bridge Over Troubled Water
Stevie Wonder - Superstition

Buffalo Springfield - For What It's Worth

Bob Dylan - Blowin' in the Wind
The Eagles - Hotel California

Bob Marley & The Wailers - No Woman, No Cry
Van Morrison - Brown Eyed Girl
Pete Seeger - Where Have All the Flowers Gone?
Simon & Garfunkel - The Sounds Of Silence
U2 - I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For

Debbie Mon, May 5, 2008 at 04:42 PM EST

I think Favid Cook would literally bring the house down if he sang, "When A Man Loves A Woman." Those killer endings of his would rock this songs off the charts!

DJ Mon, May 5, 2008 at 04:42 PM EST

Syesha:
The Box Tops - The Letter
Ray Charles - Hallelujah I Love [Him] So
Eric Clapton - After Midnight
Sam Cooke - A Change Is Gonna Come

David Cook - Out of Time by the Rolling Stones or Maybe I'm Amazed by McCartney

to Debbi Mon, May 5, 2008 at 04:18 PM EST

Wow! I totally agree about I Put a Spell on You for David Cook. That would totally rock.
You know what song I keep thinking of when I think of David Cook? A Girl Like You by Edwyn Collins. It's got that kind of sexy/dangerous vibe that David's started to give off lately, and the distorted guitar solos would suit him quite well, too. What do you think?

jm Mon, May 5, 2008 at 03:43 PM EST

Jason Castro: Many Rivers to Cross (I know, I know: Annie Lennox killed it, but Jason could also bring the house down w/ that vibe).. and for that matter, he could also be great on Praying for Time (is that on the list, though?)
David Cook: House of the Rising Sun or Biko.. he could really kick it w/ a good Peter Gabriel song
David Archuleta: God Only Knows (or pretty much anything else w/ "God" or "America" in it... so sick of him... yawn)
Syesha Mercado: I Never Loved a Man (the Way that I Love You)

BH Mon, May 5, 2008 at 03:33 PM EST

David C.- Whole Lotta Love by Led Zepplin and Maybe I'm Amazed by Paul McCartney

Jason- Layla by Eric Clapton and Brown Eyed Girl by Van Morrison

Syesha- Dancin in the Street by Martha and the Vandellas and Superstition by Stevie Wonder

David A.- Fire and Rain by James Taylor and Sittin on the Dock of the bay by Otis Redding.

Melissa Mon, May 5, 2008 at 03:27 PM EST

The video guy who puts these episodes together needs to win some sort of award. LMAO at the Kermit footage at the end. But now if Castro sings that song I won't be able to take it seriously.

supermart Mon, May 5, 2008 at 03:26 PM EST

David C.: 1) Bowie-Space Oddity 2)Bob Dylan-Like a Rolling Stone

Jason: 1) Simon & Garfunkel-The Sounds of Silence 2) Nirvana (Yes! Nirvana for him) Smells like teen spirits
Someone suggested Norwegian Wood for Jason. I think is the perfect song for him, but... Beatles? Again? Really?

Syesha: 1) Cindy Lauper-Girls just want to have fun
2) Ben E.King-Stand by me

David A.: ..... I don't wanna be rude, but... He has this "gift"... make Beatles, Mariah, ALW'songs look like the same... so pick what you want!

Jen Mon, May 5, 2008 at 03:22 PM EST

I would love to hear Jason sing The Weight by The Band. The British group Travis covered it for the Igby Goes Down soundtrack, and I think Jason would be perfect singing it along the same vibe!

panoots Mon, May 5, 2008 at 03:19 PM EST

Jason: BB King- Thrill is Gone or CNS- Suite: Judy Blue Eyes.

David A.: U2 Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For.

David C: Roxy Music- Love is the Drug

Syesha: Ronettes- Be My Babvy

seattle_girl Mon, May 5, 2008 at 03:15 PM EST

Jason, please PLEASE sing "Tell it Like It Is" by Aaron Neville. And then come out and kick patootie on the drums for your second song.

sari Mon, May 5, 2008 at 02:42 PM EST

bahahahah someone should really attempt Beck's "Loser." That would probably give Simon a heart attack.

Kari Mon, May 5, 2008 at 01:58 PM EST

I just don't understand why Slezak & the Idolatry producers want me to get fired.

That clip at the end was the most perfect thing I've seen, topping the KLK tributes...

Terry Mon, May 5, 2008 at 01:51 PM EST

David Cook I bet will sing "Boston - More Than a Feeling" A great choice for him but I also think he will select an obsure song.

Gloria Maxwell Mon, May 5, 2008 at 01:33 PM EST

There are too many choises. I thik Dock of the Bay and Hey Jude would be excellent Choices for someone. Also Any of Elvis's Our favorite All time Rocker. Gloria

gmcfly Mon, May 5, 2008 at 01:16 PM EST

Syesha should sing "Superstition" by Stevie Wonder! Show them what she can do that would sell records today.

For David A. I think "Proud Mary" by CCR. "California Dreaming" has that "pretend to pray" line, so that's no good.

A man doing "Like a Virgin" is probably a little too much for Idol fans. I mean look what happened to Danny Noriega. Ya gotta pander to the demographic.

Stephanie T. Mon, May 5, 2008 at 01:06 PM EST

Note, The Surfaris and Boston both have has not been inducted into the RRHF yet, but they should be. The Ventures were inducted, but I doubt that Simon will allow Jason to play Hawaii Five-O on his guitar.

Vera Hudson Mon, May 5, 2008 at 01:04 PM EST

Hey Dude - Daid A
Staying Alive S
Heart of Glass - David C
Good Virations - J

Stephanie T. Mon, May 5, 2008 at 01:01 PM EST

Jason- Reprise of Hallelujah if allowed. If not, Because I love You- Dave Clark Five.

David A.- Desperado-Eagles

David Cook-Tie Your Mother Down-Queen

Syesha- Bonnie Raitts version of Runaway.

MamaG Mon, May 5, 2008 at 12:20 PM EST

Syesha-Love to Love You Baby and I Fall to Pieces
Jason-I Get By With A Little Help From my Friends and Fire and Rain
David A (When you Wish Upon a Star is made for him, but it's not on the list) Bridge Over Troubled Water and You've Got a Friend
David C-Maggie May and when a Man Loves A Woman
You all realize that this is going to be a battle of "the Davids" in the end, dont you? Jason leaves this week, Syesha next week....

lil hancock Mon, May 5, 2008 at 12:03 PM EST

Whoever said the impressions "people get ready" for Jason Castro was brilliant. if he did it he would have a chance for the final two!

Cyndi Mon, May 5, 2008 at 12:00 PM EST

Wait - no! Whiter Shade of Pale for David C. (Although he couldn't possibly hope to do it better than Elliott Yamin's cover of the Procol Harum classic!)

Cyndi Mon, May 5, 2008 at 11:55 AM EST

Joe Cocker's 'You Can Leave your Hat On' for David C.

Alyssa Mon, May 5, 2008 at 11:27 AM EST

To Debbi -- Everyday I learn a reason why I should thank god I was out of the country last year and missed the entire season of American Idol. I probably would have cried disgusted-tears to hear that song ruined, haha.

Debbi Mon, May 5, 2008 at 11:22 AM EST

Unfortunately, I think the memory of Sundance Head butchering "Nights in White Satin" last year is too fresh.

Alyssa Mon, May 5, 2008 at 11:14 AM EST

I wish there was a contestant who could pull of "Nights in White Satin." That song is freakin sweet. Unfortunately, all of them would butcher it. Having said that, there are dozens of amazing songs for them to choose from, so it could potentially be a really good night.

yssys Mon, May 5, 2008 at 10:55 AM EST

Love Idolatry, you guys are the best...love the Kermit clip, and I agree with J.J. I would love it if Jason sings Beck's Loser...Overall I think this is gonna be a Fun Idol Week

Kip Mon, May 5, 2008 at 10:31 AM EST

Whatever song you do Jason - make it your own. You will do great!

Debbi Mon, May 5, 2008 at 10:31 AM EST

I think that David C. would do an incredible job on "Maybe I"m Amazed", or go completely retro on Screamin' Jay Hawkins' "I Put A Spell on You". I'd like to see Jason do something like James Taylor's "Fire and Rain." He'd also do well with "California Dreamin'," I think. Syesha? How about Al Green's "Let's Stay Together." And David A. might be ok with "Your Song," albeit sung in a completely different key.

Dee Mon, May 5, 2008 at 10:30 AM EST

I think Jason, not feeling well, just was having a bad week. I don't think he meant anything by it - about quitting, etc. He' going to learn to watch what he says (as he becomes a big star) because it can be taken out of context.

suebrody Mon, May 5, 2008 at 10:22 AM EST

Yeah! Smells Like Teen Spirit for David Cook. Still soooo cool and he can really, really rock it!!! (Yep, huge Nirvana fan.)

Mike Mon, May 5, 2008 at 10:19 AM EST

Jason:
- Ben E. King, “Stand By Me
- Bob Marley, “No Woman, No Cry”
- Ray Charles, “I Got a Woman”
- Otis Redding, “(Sittin’ on) the Dock of the Bay”
- The Righteous Brothers, “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’”
- The Shirelles, “Will You Love Me Tomorrow”
- something Beach Boys?

David A.
- Elton John, “Your Song” 100% (Moulin Rouge version?)
- Prince, “When Doves Cry”
- The Four Tops, “Baby I Need Your Loving”
- Definitely agree with Jackson 5 “I Want You Back”

David C.
- Definitely agree with “Sweet Dreams”
- Yes! to “Like a Virgin”
- Duran Duran, “Hungry Like the Wolf”

Syesha
- Marvin Gaye, “I Heard It through the Grapevine”
- Clearance Clearwater Revival, “Proud Mary
- The Rolling Stones, “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” – literally
- The Ronettes, “Be My Baby”
- Stevie Wonder, “Superstition”

suebrody Mon, May 5, 2008 at 10:18 AM EST

I was thinking something like Nirvana for David Cook (is Nirvana IN the Hall of Fame yet?) or, yes, the Doors would kick it. I would jumping up dan down to see him do REM (anything he does makes me jump and and down, actually), but the coolness factor is key right now. I don't see Sweet Dreams for him (though it's a great song). I think it's a bit bland, unless he mixes it up.

More Than a Feeling would be AMAZING for David Archuleta, (it'll never happen, b/c it's, you know, BOSTON), but he's going to for something poppy (Jackson Five could happen). There is NO better choice than Talking Heads for Jason (though I could see him with the Beach Boys, actually, in a breezy, beach sort of way). I hope Syesha goes with an update song, and not a ballad (please, Syesha, have fun!!!).

I still think it's going to be a David/David final, so I'm not sure it matters, as long as neither of them butchers the song (No Seven Mary Three type of song for David C, and no karyoke for David A).

Nose Mon, May 5, 2008 at 10:15 AM EST

No one on this show has the talent or the balls to pull off "More Than A Feeling." There is no singer that has an upper register like Brad Delpy did. I hope none of them try.

CX Mon, May 5, 2008 at 10:06 AM EST

Great suggestions. I think "None a Jah Jah Children No Cry" a Ras Michael and the Sons of Negus chestnut could put Jsson C. over the top.

Rus Mon, May 5, 2008 at 09:50 AM EST

Jason definitley should do Sam Cooke's You Send Me. I would love to hear David Cooke sing Boston's More than a Feeling or The House of the Rising Sun by The Animals. David A. would do great with A Bridge over Troubled Water and as for Syesha, probably something like Somewhere over the Rainbow?

Broadway Baby Mon, May 5, 2008 at 09:38 AM EST

More Than a Feeling is an inspired choice for Little David - would have never thought of it but damn it could really work...

Lint_Licker Mon, May 5, 2008 at 09:24 AM EST

Honestly, "Like a Virgin"? That'd be a train wreck of tragic proportions. There's way too many damn songs on that list for me to even think of my own list. PS: I think your definition of tortured was a little off. Tortured = overrated shouty fat-ass plant.

Mary Mon, May 5, 2008 at 09:21 AM EST

Oh, David Cook or The Letter by Joe Cocker......

Michele Lauren Cloutier Mon, May 5, 2008 at 09:16 AM EST

The Doors-The End
KISS-Rock all Night
Guns & Roses-Welcome to the Jungle
Michael Jackson-Beat It
Elvi-Blue Suede Shoes

Mary Mon, May 5, 2008 at 09:02 AM EST

OK Here's my songs:
David C - The Letter by the Boxtops
David A - Needles and Pins by The Searchers
Jason C - I Believe in Magic by the Lovin Spoonful
Seysha M - Oh What a Night by the Dells

kaf Mon, May 5, 2008 at 08:44 AM EST

Wow great ideas! I hope the contestants' picks are half as interesting as Idolatry's! Last week was so boring, so I'd love to hear some FUN songs! And here's hoping Cook does the Eurythmics!!

mscisluv Mon, May 5, 2008 at 08:38 AM EST

I'd love to hear Layla - I think either David Cook or Jason could pull it off. Sweet Dreams is an excellent choice for David. Someone suggested Mr. Tambourine Man for Syesha, which could actually be really nice - please no Aretha! Loving anything Jackson 5 for David A, and I definitely agree that he is clearly just like Donny Osmond (with less stage presence).

jill Mon, May 5, 2008 at 08:24 AM EST

O M G! That Kermit clip is P R I C E L E S S!!!!!!

Jonathan Mon, May 5, 2008 at 08:19 AM EST

Jason NEEDS to sing "No Woman, No Cry" by Bob Marley.
David Archuleta should sing "Late For The Sky" by Jackson Browne and/or "Your Song" by Elton John.
Syesha NEEDS to sing a full version of "Chain Of Fools" by Aretha Franklin. Did you hear her 20-second version during Hollywood week? It was incredible!
David Cook...can sing whatever he wants this week.

Jonathan Mon, May 5, 2008 at 08:19 AM EST

there are just too many choices for me to sort through, so i'm just going to continue my applause for idolatry and slezak and shaw!

Audrey Mon, May 5, 2008 at 08:06 AM EST

I would love to hear David C with Layla by Eric Clapton

Khaelis Mon, May 5, 2008 at 07:30 AM EST

If they're even in the Hall of Fame I think David Cook would do well with Goo Goo Dolls - Iris. David A ...ah well how bout something by Karen Carpenter ... Jason - Scarborough Fair , and Syesha ... Aretha Franklin - Freeway of Love ROFL!!

Might as well hand the award to Cook right now. :)

Stephanie Mon, May 5, 2008 at 06:42 AM EST

Heres what I'd like to see:

David Cook - Beck "Loser", David Bowie "Ziggy Stardust"

David A - Johnny Cash "I Walk the Line" (I'd love to see him sing something hardcore like Cash), The Eagles "Hotel California"

Jason Castro - Fleetwood Mac "Go Your Own Way", Cyndi Lauper "Girls Just want to have Fun" (I really thing he could do a great acoustic version of this song)

Syesha - Dr. Dre's "Nothing But a G Thang" (I really think she could rock this), Marvin Gay "Sexual Healing"

I thing all these songs play on their strenghs and style as singers, but they also bring something new to the table.

JillS Mon, May 5, 2008 at 06:25 AM EST

Ooh ooh! I want to hear David A. do "In the Still of the Night"!!

Coach's Mistress Mon, May 5, 2008 at 06:15 AM EST

Stella,
You must be joking right? Dream On for David C?????? That's what got the dear Michael Johns booted. Or maybe you're an Archie fan....

Stella Mon, May 5, 2008 at 03:44 AM EST

Jason: Mr. Tamborine Man, You've got a friend, American Pie, or Brown Eyed Girl, The Times They are a Changin'.

David C.: Dream On, Sunshine of Your Love, Your Song, Losing My Religion, Down by the River.

David Cook's image seems to change according to context. Sometimes he's the nice guy, sometimes the bad-ass rocker with a foul mouth:

To whomever said David Cook should sing "When Doves Cry."

I love you.

David Archuleta singing I Want You Back??? That would be terrible. It is in the Wrong Key and everything for David Archuleta.

After hearing your song selections for the contestants GOD you have no right to complain about what contestants choose for themselves to sing on the show.

Hey Mike Sleazy and Chickenhead, did you ever think that Syesha might not have been as familiar with Neil Diamond as David Cook was? Maybe that was the problem. I really doubt that she listens to Neil Diamond songs enough to be able to pick one or two songs that she will have to sing on nationwide television out at the drop of a hat. You alls point of views are so narrow.

Another thing, nobody is really freakin "stretching" in this competition. I see you never ask David Cook to sing in a "rhythm & Blues" style, or ask David Archuleta to "rock" it out or ask Jason Castro to sing Whitney Houston style.`

Syesha has made it to the top 4 and is the last girl standing so obviously she has A LOT of Talent and many people see that. That is a big accomplishment in itself. What these kids do is worth MUCH more than what you all do. You all have it so easy.

O how I wish the shoe was on the other foot...

Hmmm well there are bunches of songs that I think would be great but will not make it past the ratings police: 'Lola' for JC, 'White Rabbit' for SM, and 'Money' or 'roxanne' for DC all would be great but alas they're not gonna happen.

*sigh*

SM - she's gonna pick an Aretha song, but I think 'Something to talk about' would be sassy.
DA - 'Bridge over Troubled water', 'When a Man loves a woman' - but I have to agree 'I want you back' would be awsome.
JC - 'No woman no cry','Brown eyed girl'
DC - sadly "Into the Mystic" is not on the list.... my favorite song.... 'sweet dreams','nights in white satin','space oddity'

At all costs DC has to avoid his brother's favorite band - no Duran Duran!

I wanna hear Jason sing 'Time' by Culture Club and 'Loser' by Beck. Syesha should cover 'Sweet Dreams' by Eurthymics it be so not her but nice change to see her do something non-diva and non-broadway like. Also perhaps 'Baba O’Riley' by The Who. I like to see David Cook cover 'Lola' or 'You Really Got Me' by The Kinks or his twist on Prince's song 'When The Doves Cry'. David Archuleta should sing 'Losing My Religion' by R.E.M. it be something totally diff for him and so left field nobody would think he sing it. Also Simon and Garfunkel's 'Bridge Over Troubled Water' don't think lil David covered that yet but i could be wrong.

David Cook should do a version of When Doves Cry by Prince.
Syesha should do A Change is Going to Come by Sam Cooke.
Jason Castro could do War by Edwin McCain since he already looks like a hippie.
The song I really want someone to do is Mama Said knock you out by LL Cool J! haha
