I'm honestly surprised that Rick Moranis didn't become a bigger star, and as much of an in-demand actor as Martin Short. But with only a few exceptions ("Streets of Fire," for one), he was always cast in the movies as nerdy wimps. And as anyone who cherished his work on SCTV could tell you, the guy could do ANYTHING. Now we're gonna get a Bob & Doug McKenzie animated series, and I'd rather see Rick stretch the way he used to.

I miss Valerie Cherish. Room & Bored was okay (she had a hi-LAR-ious tag once about sex stuff in a bag,) but I'm It! was so great. Such a great workplace comedy. And everybody loved that chimp!

Just finished watching my newly purchassed Freaks and Geeks set (now onto all the commentaries!) and have got to second Joe Flaherty. Growing up as a good Canuck I always saw him as just another guy on that SCTV show that was on every once in a while, but his work in F&G really impressed me. Id love to see him in another Comedic/ light-drama role.

I wish Alan Tudyk did more. I've loved him since A Knight's Tale and even almost watched Firefly on Fox cause I saw he was on it. Every now and then he pops up in British TV and offbeat side movies, but I can't get enough.

I always thought Barbara Streisand was such a gifted comedian, and it was such a shame she made so many serious movies and focused so much on her singing. "What's up doc?" is one of the funniest movies ever, but now I'm thinking about Madeline Kahn and how much I miss her.

Jennifer Coolidge is a great choice, since she's consistently hilarious in everything she does.

Another person from the Christopher Guest canon I'd love to see more of is John Michael Higgins. He was absolutely hilarious in "Best in Show" and I LOVED him as lawyer Wayne Jarvis on "Arrested Development" (that guy was a pro), and he stole every scene he was in in "The Break Up" (Tone Rangers!)

Now, the only place I'm consistently seeing him is in some funny DirectTV ads. Somebody give this guy his own show!

Bonnie Hunt. She's brilliant and I'd watch her in anything. I sat through "I Want Someone To Eat Cheese With" just for the 5 minutes of BH screen time. If that's not fangirl dedication, I don't know what is.

last night i saw young frankenstein on broadway and remembered how much i love megan mullally. i would really enjoy seeing her in a show, perhaps the new one with molly shannon? andrea martin was also in the show, and i'm curious why she isn't a bigger star. i'd love to see andrea and jackie hoffman team up to do some sort of half hour comedy pilot, like a real housewives spoof. also, remember cheri oteri?

I shamefully went to see Penelope a while ago (I have a mini crush on James McAvoy), and Catherine O'Hara was the only decent thing about it. She should definitely do more. The film was terrible by the way (and confusing - why did some of the people living in London have English accents and all the main characters, that were meant to have grown up there, have American accents? Weird).

Catherine O'Hara should have received and Oscar nomination for every role she's ever been in. The woman is incredible.

I'd be only slightly hesitant to cast her in a sitcom simply due to the dreary television debut of her oft-costar, Parker Posey earlier this year. It's frustrating to see great actors in mediocre projects.
