Entertainment Weekly I just finally after about a year's abscence renewed my subscription. Why? Because Michael Ausiello is THE BEST!!! I think EW's move to bring Michael Ausiello on board was pure genius. He is by far one of the best writers in the country and EW readers will soon find out why his TV Guide fan base numbered in the millions. Let TV Guide keep him, EW. You're writers are superior, and far less self-involved. I can only hope this won't become a trend. I thought EW was better than M.A.'s brand of "journalism". I read his blog from time to time, he gets some decent scoop (tho nothing I won't read at E!'s Kristin page), but his tendency to talk more about himself and the freaking Smurfs and the UCLA or USC or whatever the hell school it is whose football team he loves is a lot over the top. If he focuses more on the TV shows and less on himself, I would be happy. Otherwise, I may end up skipping his items.

I used to visit EW.com basically just weekly to check out Doc Jensen's Lost stuff. If Ausiello gets a regularly updated blog here, I think I'm going to have to start visiting daily. I would love to keep getting spoilery (but not too spoilery!) tidbits, scoop about why people are leaving, and other interesting information, as Ausiello did for TV Guide. I have to agree that I find Ausiello extremely snippy and arrogant, especially in his Ask Ausiello forum and I don't know if he will meld well with all the other EW bloggers who I find genuinely funny and smart. He spends 3/4ths of his columns reminding the reader how great it is that he knows all the show-runners and can get the insider info. Sometimes you just want to shout, "OK, we get it! Now just tell us what's going to happen on 'Brothers & Sisters'!"

I may be in the minority, but I think this sucks BIG TIME. Michael Ausiello is a gossip columnist, nothing more. And phrases like "scoopy goodness" make me want to shoot myself. If the dumbing down of EW goes much further, I'm going to have to consider letting my sub lapse. And I've subscribed for 15 years!

I've subscribed to EW forever and I am loyal to it above all other magazines so I think this is a great move. EW now will have one of my favorite parts of TVguide. Good move EW! If Ausiello continues to give out his tv spoilers online I know I will visit EW.com more often now. Stinks for TVguide though. Without Ausiello, I'm not sure why I'd visit that site anymore. They're going to have to step up their game to make up for this loss.

1 & b) TV writer and spoiler junkie from TVG, who gets the goods from tight-lipped TV peeps. MA's current online Q&A column "Ask Ausiello" on Wednesdays is a must-read for many.
4) Depends who you ask. Spoilerphobes hate, some are annoyed with the snark and ego and constant Smurf/Snapple love... but the rest of us are devoted "Ausholes."

Awesome! I've been reading Ausiello for ages and I think he's a great fit with EW. I'd love to hear his take on the upfronts...what he's looking forward to next season.

I like my EW columnists detailed and obsessive, so please go all out on Lost, Grey's, Desperate Housewives, Battlestar Galactcia, Dollhouse, etc.

I'd love him to continue scooping shows...this site needs a spoilers section!
