Trailer Blazer: 'The House Bunny'

What's a girl (Anna Faris) to do when she's kicked out of the Playboy Mansion? Apparently, she becomes the house mother of a sorority, gives the socially awkward sisters (including Katharine McPhee and Rumer Willis) makeovers, and dates Colin Hanks. She also makes me laugh more than Mike Myers did in The Love Guru trailer or Adam Sandler did in the You Don't Mess with the Zohan preview. Am I wrong?

yay! this looks hilarious

Nice new lips, Faris. Yeesh, they are all the same.

By "makes me laugh more" does that mean cracking a half-smile as opposed to groaning at the awful-ness that is "The Love Guru" trailer? Well, I do like Anna Faris though.

Plus I find it ironic that Jules from "Superbad" last year went from hottest girl in high school to the nerdiest girl in college in a few short months.

i'm not crazy about what appears to be the usual 'slutty makeover = worth' storyline, but i totally love Anna Faris. She is so funny and so underrated.

Oh, yeah, dumb blondes, and smart chicks trying to look hot. Pardon me while I vomit at the waste of time and "talent".

Robb Tue, Apr 15, 2008 at 11:54 AM EST

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Anna Faris. This isn't the best movie she could be in (she needs to stretch a bit very soon...I hope she gets some less kooky roles) but i laughed 4 times during the preview. That said, can we please stop allowing Rumer Willis in anything? She's NOT a star and never will be. She got none of her parents' charisma.

I actually just wrote a post on this trailer over at TrailerSpy.com: http://www.trailerspy.com/featured-trailers/2008/04/13/the-house-bunny-hopping-onto-the-makeover-movie-bandwagon/ I think it looks cute, but I'll probably wait to rent it.

Looks funny :)

I am a big Anna Faris fan

Actually guys I think it's supposed to be a spoof on movies about tarting up to get the man of your dreams. One of them does have a neck brace (Rumer Willis) after all. Either way, I expect more from Anna Faris, even though some of her resume (Super Ex-Girlfriend) doesn't imply that I should.

Nose Mon, Apr 14, 2008 at 09:19 PM EST

Yet another movie about girls needing to get tarted up to meet the man of their dreams. Such a positive message.

Al Fredo Mon, Apr 14, 2008 at 08:59 PM EST

It does look pretty funny, in a "what if Elle from Legally Blonde wasn't so smart and didn't go to Harvard" kind of way.

This looks so good. First movie trailer this year I've laughed at.

Brad in Edmonton Mon, Apr 14, 2008 at 06:45 PM EST

"Oh, I'm not trying to make soup." BA HA HA HA HA !!! Sooo funny....

Maggs Mon, Apr 14, 2008 at 06:25 PM EST

I was expecting the worse but I actually laughed...alot! I agree with BrandonP, it's probably gonna have a lesson about inner beauty blah blah blah, more Anna Faris.

ZF Mon, Apr 14, 2008 at 05:41 PM EST

Is that Beverly D'Angelo? I don't get why house mothers would be competitive.

Jared Mon, Apr 14, 2008 at 04:59 PM EST

I love Anna Faris! This definitely looks funnier than the Love Guru, but I was a little scared when they said brought to you by the makers of "50 First Dates"

Lyn Mon, Apr 14, 2008 at 04:53 PM EST

I think it looks hilarious. But do we need more beautiful actresses playing the un-pretty because the characters wear bad clothes and glasses?

Lynny Mon, Apr 14, 2008 at 04:51 PM EST

Anna Faris is completely hilarious. I watch "Just Friends" only for her parts and pretty much fast forward through everything else. One of these days, she is going to be a very big deal. So funny.

BrandonP Mon, Apr 14, 2008 at 04:46 PM EST

This actually looks hysterical to me. Something tells me it will be more satirical than trying to prove a point about inner beauty or anything like that. McPhee looks amazing!

T-Rex Mon, Apr 14, 2008 at 04:41 PM EST

What an ass-backwards movie. What's the point here? Smart girls are worthless until they glam up?
