I think it's odd that after her parents left is when the photographer decided to take such a picture. It is 2008, but I would not of allowed my 15 year old to take such a picture and I would think her's would not as well. The photographer and Vanity Fair knew what they were doing.

I have a comment regarding my lifestyle, the Bible (a little bit), and Miley's photos. Let's see...for starters, regarding my lifestyle, I am a nudist. Regarding the Bible, Adam and Eve were created nude and not ashamed. They sinned after eating the forbidden fruit of knowledge, thanks to an idiot serpent that was actually the Devil in disguise. However, their sin was not simply nudity in itself. It was their shame that they couldn't handle their own nudity. After all, God asked who told them they were naked. He didn't tell them it was good that they covered up their nudity. If you want to live pure and free, nude is the way to go. As for Miley's photos, I have no problem with them. They are simple, artistic, and natural. Anyone who thinks otherwise obviously can't tell the difference between nude (or near-nudity) and the dreaded "p" word ("porn" or "pornography"). That is all I have to say for now.

The photo was slightly suggestive, but people need to move on. I feel so sorry for Miley who has to put up with all this cruel name-calling and criticism. People need to understand that Miley is NOT 11 years old. The photo on it's own is a good one regardless of the individual. I'm no Miley fan but I don't see what all the raucous is about. Am I missing the clothes strewn floor, empty bottle of Jack Daniels, used syringes and her smeared lipstick after a one night stand? Disney, et al. have no business attempting to take the moral high ground. Those protesting the loudest have bigger skeletons in their own closets! I believe their are bigger injustices in the world to be concerned about...get over it already! So petty...

Judgmental people looking for something/someone to criticize can take anything out of context. I think the photos were done well and Miley and her parents have nothing to apologize for. Disney needs to accept that some of their young stars with great potential are growing up... Let them and their parents decide because they SHOULD know what is best for their children and exploitation is not in the forefront of good parents' minds, and I believe her parents have taught her well!!

I have no problem with Miley's photos. The green bra pix are simply those of a sassy teenager messing with friends. The Liebowitz shots are very artistic and simply depict a burgeoning young woman. Doesn't anyone remember a 12 year-old Brook Shields baring nearly all in the film Pretty Baby? That film didn't even get an NC-17 rating. I rest my case.

I agree with Ms Daisy. It's a lousy picture of a cute girl that makes her look like a tramp. It looks a lot like an older woman convinced a naive young girl to "do her bidding" by posing in any way the older woman wanted. No, it's not gratuitously sexy. No, it's really not showing too much skin. It's just a trashy-looking picture of an innocent young girl... and that's just a shame.

Annie beautifully captures this moment, with discretion, as only a woman can, who once came of age, and remembers, and shares.

The point no one seems to get it is that other pictures of Miley were taken at this shoot - so why didn't Vanity Fair choose one of those to put on the cover. Just because she posed for this one, doesn't mean it was the one that HAD to be used. She was exploited by Vanity Fair by putting this one in the magazine. Everyone seems to want to put the responsibility for this on everyone BUT the magazine. They were the ones who ultimately chose to publish this picture. They aren't helpless victims in this - they weren't forced to use this picture. They chose to exploit her for profit.

I think the intention of the photos was artistic. And they would be .... if the subject was 25 years old. But with today's problems with child molestation, child pornography, etc. I don't think they are appropriate with a 15 year old being the subject. If it were a 15 year old in her pajamas holding the sheet that way, it would be different.
The photographer was just doing her job; Miley was just posing for promo pics ..... the parents should have stopped this one!
