'Cosby Show' cutie headed to 'Jail'

Keishaknightpulliam_l I understand child actors have a right to make a living as adults, even take on the kind of edgy roles that will put distance between themselves and the adorable moppet characters that defined them when they were kids. But seriously? The Cosby Show's little Rudy playing a jailed prostitute who's "preyed upon by a large [female inmate] named Big Sal"?

If you could see my face right now, Keshia Knight Pulliam, it would look like this:

Clearly, I don't think I can handle Tyler Perry's Madea Goes to Jail. How 'bout you, PopWatchers? (Oh, and click here for a YouTube clip that is now officially on my Endangered Memories list. Blurg!)

umm ... this probably makes me a horrible person ... but here goes ... I stopped watching The Cosby Show once they brought on Raven Simone as "Olivia" to replace "Rudy" because Keisha was growing up and they wanted another "cute little girl" on the show. So I take great delight in the fact that Keisha turned out WAY hotter in the end than Raven. hehehehehehe yeah ... I said it ... lol

Thanks TSD, I stand corrected. I know that there was a rumor about her being in a few porn films. However, the story is not true. Does anyone remember Jaimee Foxworthy? She played the young girl on Family Matters, and then after one or two seasons she just vanished? She did the movies and someone managed to mistake her for Pulliam.

Actually, she graduated from Spelman College. She was a senior when I was a freshman there. Morehouse is the all male school. She got her degree in sociology.

Actually what happened was that after TCS ended, Keshia went to Moorehouse and graduted with I believe a degree in business. This is what happens when you get bored and wind up watching The E True Hollywood Story. :-P Perhaps Tyler Perry thought that Keshia was the person who best fit the movie version of the role. Who knows?

I can't handle Tyler Perry period so I won't be seeing this but I'm glad to see Keshia's getting work. She was the best actor of all the Cosby kids, with the possible exception of Raven-Symone.

Poor Rudy! It seems that Cosby's daughters have had trouble finding decent work since the good old days on NBC. But this is Tyler Perry, so I'm sure she'll be more than just a typical movie "ho".

Tyler Perry's proven capable of handling a lot of elements of African American life and breathing a lot of depth to them. Director Greg Pak once said that the best way to make people feel connected to a particular experience is to make it as specific as possible. Perry's movies seem to strike a chord here in DC, and as an "outside observer", I find a lot in common with the human themes he values.

Why does she look disturbingly like the original black chick from The View who lost all that weight, had her own show recently and then got fired. . .? Whoever she is. . .yeah, that one. Anyway -- yuck.

I'm anticipating Madea Goes to Jail. The play is hilarious and Tyler Perry has a knack for doing some fun casting, even if some of us are skeptical (i.e., Janet Jackson in Why Did I Get Married).
